Hello guys.

ME -

Im a 21 male from England. I am 6 foot 2 inch's and am about 21 stone (ill need to double check this out).

MOTAVATION -

One of my motavations is basically ive been an obese kid in my teenage years and its all been wasted with my yonger adult years just beginning its a new start.

The other (however sad this may be) is i recently asked this girl out and because of my size, i know this is why she turned me down so my aim is to get fit and try again if she says no then i was wrong and it doesnt matter - ive got a great body to find a girl that really wants me.

GYM -

I started the the gym on 26th July. So far i have been going every day for an hour or so, its been great way to spend a night not in front of the tv, getting fit and feels like you are doing something that is working (not that u can see it yet).

I was told to do cardio for a month at least, so ive been doing 20-30 mins on cross trainer on cross country setting, a mile (1600m) on the rowing machine, 20-30 mins cycle on medium settings and some arm machine i dont know the name of.

Ive also been sweating alot, but i guess thats my body not used to working like this and the amount of water drinking - and im sure it could be used as a way of.. im getting healthier.

DIET/EATING -

Eating and Drinking was one of my biggest worries. Ive have lived on fizzy drinks (5 bottles a day).

I didnt have breakfast and random eating times, sometimes lunch at 1pm or 4pm, because of this snacking was allways occuring.

Now my diet consists off

7am - weetabix or yogurt/fruit
1pm - sandwhich/fruit/water or canteen meal/water
7pm - anything that doesnt involve carbohydrates and a 2 portions of veg.

CONCLUSION -

Well its been a week, rome wasnt built in a day and obviousily i see no changes in my body fat. I feel more better inside so something must be working.

The thing i see that has changed (warning: gross - told u it wasnt for the faint hearted) is that my feces has changed and im farting alot more, could be the food ive never really eaten before/cleaning myself out.

Ill try my best with weekly updates/when things happen :D

Any comments you would like to make? how to improve would be helpfull?
 
Keep with it...I started a week ago and today is the end of my first week.

What I've been doing is watching what I eat, and jogging for about a mile for 30 minutes, 60 seconds of jogging/90 second rest intervals, for 30 minutes.

The main thing that is hard for me is pushing myself to go jogging/running everyday...I'm doing the couch to 5k program (I suggest you check it out!), and it's designed 3 days a week, well, I'm doing it everyday! I need the exercise...I Could take tomorrow off since I've done 2 days in a row with it..but I'm going to keep going with it. The main thing I hate and which will get better with time with the jogging is the front of my shin's hurting...I'm not used to running so it hurts alot! I want to jog everyday to make this go away..

Before this week of jogging I don't think I could even jog for 60 seconds...I'm not sure but I don't think I could've. I was also a HUGE soda drinker, I would drink 6-7 regular sodas a day, and eat anything I wanted. The hardest part for me was to cut out the soda completely, I still have some diet cola when I go out to eat, though.

Do a search on these forums for Couch to 5k ...if you got an ipod you can follow the podcasts...he tells you when to run and walk. It's fun.

So far I've lost 5 lbs since last week...restricting my calories to 2000 a day, eating lots of fruit and vegetables, and LOTS of water. It's saved me alot of money eating out..because I eat healthy at home. Let's do this together!

i did once stop drinking fizzy drinks for about 2 months and from that i did see some changes, then my sister did buy some orangeade and then temptation took me a sip and then it all went back.

I havent had any in a week (no craveing for it) and because my sister is doing the weightloss aswell it should all be okay.

I havent taken a look at my weight and to be honest i didnt know it from the start but ive got my next meeting with the trainer in a month and ill see from then.

Indeed its saved me alot of money too, with drinks alone i was spending like £30 a week, thats £120 a month! wow.

Haha, snap one of the reasons I'm doing this is because I want to know if the guy I like would like me back if I was skinny. Also I absoultly Love fizzy pop, I don't get it, I mean what does Coke even taste like? I don't know, or Dr.Pepper but i've loved them both *sigh*
I'm glad your feeling better within your self, Are your moods improving or getting worse?
Anyway I think there should be a warning on Fizzy pop, like there is on the front of the packets of ciggarettes :D

My man is from England as well, and with all the great (but fattening unfortunetely) traditional food there is, I can understand this could be difficult! It could also be that I've only seen the fattening foods from him. Which is highly likely. But it's all so damn good! What part of England are you from? Just dont give up! Cuz you can do it!

My tip would be, to educate yourself. Read around, dont take everything everyone says as a solid fact to live by. Do your research and decide what's best for you and what will work, it has to be something you can live with for the rest of your life. and make sure you measure your body! I haven't lost any pounds at all this past week, and that makes me kind of low, but I'm down in inches which keeps me going!

even on days you cheat, or 'fail' and dont eat proper, just be better the next time, exercise more. You can do it :)

{edit} Dont go for the girl once you're fit. If she didn't like you for you, then she aint worth it. If she'll only say yes because you're fit, piss on her and find someone better!

Well i thought i give you an update as i havent been on here much (sorry!)

Well its been about a month since i joined a gym, for the first two weeks i was doing okay and could see some improvements in all area's. I was going about 6 days a week, spending a good hour there and doing 5-8 miles of exercise (more than i used to do!) and not to forget all the other exercise i did in the day.

However the gym closes for two weeks due to a referb and i had to use another gym down in the city and could not make it, i think i went about 3 times in the two weeks. I also lost my job in this period so i was out with a few people of work 'celebrating' and haveing alot of booze. With this losing my job my body clock is out of scync and dont have breakfast anymore or sometimes lunch as i wake up at 2pm.... which is real bad and i need to sort out! and i dont feel like ive lost alot of weight if not any (my face has got back fatter) allthough my mum has commented that ive lost some.

I went to see the PT and he's given me some intensive training to do - so alot of heavy cardio for short times and weights. I ache like hell but its just my body gettting used to this new workout.
