So here we go! On the road to a healthier new me!

Along with many of you, i have struggled with my weight for a while now, and tried a few different diets. Green tea, metabolife, hydroxycut, fruit and rice diet, and Atkins. I have been lucky with the Atkins diet but it just wasnt for me. I am now on a low calorie, low fat diet, and exercise.

My name is Jo, I am 26 yrs old. 5'6 and weighing 198pounds. Mom of 2 wonderful kids :) I am very unhappy with the way i look. I carry most of my weight in my waist and bust. I'm soo happy to be here :) I know i can do this...

Day 1

Day 1 -- March 2, 2007 -------Starting weight 198 lbs.. Goal 165 -----Low calorie diet --- Weigh In Friday March 9

Measurements:

Bust - 44 in
Arms - 14 in
Waist:
above naval 41 in
below naval 44 in
Hips - 44 in
thighs - 24 1/2 in
calves - 16 1/2 in


Exciting day..Looking forward to this journey. I have taken pictures of myself , side front back, and hoping one day i will be able to use these as before pictures! My goal is to weigh 125 lbs. I have a mini goal for this year which is 165lbs

Today went well, I began walking on my treadmill which was actually fun! I wanted to do 30 minutes, but hubby said to stick to 15 min for today. I Was bummed out, i wanted to walk more! :p

HI Jo, I just wanted to say hello, and welcome you to the forum. I have found everyone here to be so friendly and supportive. Joining this forum has been the best thing for me because when im feeling happy or down, i have someplace to be with people that understand.

Day 2

Just thought id stop in. I havnt exercised today. I am in a lot of pain from yesterdays workout.Which I am shocked because it was only a 15 minute jog.But i am used to sitting on my butt doing nothing all day except for cleaning and cooking, I also painted my sons room, so that could explain the backache too.

Lets see.. I ate pretty good today, not craving anything.

Morning i had some cottage cheese sprinkled with green onion,slice of bread

lunch i had 2 pieces of bread with a slice of ham , and tiny bit of lite mayo on each slice.

Dinner i had a cup of vegetable salad (cooked carrots,peas, potatoe, cooked egg whites with a bit of mayo) and slice of bread.

I have been bad with water today, i had only one glass, and 2 glasses orange juice.

thats all :)
 
Day 3

I have never thought i could have so much energy after working out! I did 35 minutes of jogging this morning before breakfast, still in some pain but not to the point i couldnt get on the treadmill, and make an excuse.

my menu today was pretty good.I am not feeling hungry and drank 3 glasses of water. Still working on that.

Breakfast 10am
Turkey on wheat bread teaspoon mayo. 280 calories
Orange Juice - 110 calories

Early dinner at inlaws 2pm
1/2 cup boiled riced with peas,corn,carrots. 125 calories
small piece of ground pork breaded(not sure what its called)170 calories
2 tablespoons grated beets - 50 calories
1 apple - 75 calories.

6pm
2 turkey sandwiches - 560 calories

Total calories today 1370

I hope I am! :) Thanks.. I am just scared i wont lose any weight, but i am pretty sure all of you had the same doubts..
 
oh yes! i still get scared during my weekly weigh ins. i have steadily lost, but i know i am going to be upset when the week comes that i didn't lose, or even worse, gained! it's one of those things that's inevitable, i'm sure!
 
Monday March 5 ---- Day 4

Wow day 4! this is usually around where i feel like quitting with my other diets, but i am enjoying this one so far..

I didnt use my treadmill this morning. I have that feeling of guilt?? but i didnt have the time, i had my whole house to clean, which took 5 hours.I think i can count that as being my exercise for the morning. I usually mop my floors, but i decided to get on my knees and wash the old fashion way, and burn some more calories that way.

Still need to add veggies and fruits to my diet.


Todays menu .

9:30am
Peanut butter jelly sandwich 260 calories
1 glass orange juice 110

3:30pm
I was at my friends house, so i had a 2 sandwiches with wonder bread,canadian bacon and miracle whip.400 calories?

6pm
Still at friends house..aargh had 1 small slice of pizza from pizza hut, and one bread stick..calories unknown:confused:

Total calories 770 plus slice of pizza.

Drumroll!! 6 full glasses of water! :D
 
congrats on getting those 6 glasses of water! only a few more to go and you'll reach your recommended 8!

Thursday March 8

Havent stopped in for 2 days. I didnt quit though! I am still here :D I have been sticking to my 1300-1500 calorie intake a day.Still exercising. I have bumped it up to 45 minutes of fast walking with intervals of jogging mornings. and 25 minutes before bedtime.

I'm feeling really good, i began to eat a lot of fruits and veggies! and drink my 8 bottles of water daily. Yesterday for lunch i had subway, chicken terriyaki, was delicious! water on the side, for dinner i had chicken with a cup of bolied cauliflour and a cup of boiled carrots. OO and TOM is here. I thought i wouldn't get through the night. The cravings!!! This is where i would order my pizza!! So i grabbed a large plate, and headed towards my fruit basket.. The amount of fruits i had last night, was way more than i ate the whole year! Which is, 2 prunes, 2 oranges, 1 banana, 1 apple, 10 strawberries, slice of cantalope..OMG lol . But i felt soo nice and full, and fell asleep right after.. Im pretty sure the calorie intake was high, but assuming good calories, that shouldnt hurt in my weight loss.

I am also being tempted to step on my scale, but i dont want to be the old me, where i HAD to step on the scale EVERYDAY. Once a week will do fine, but i will go by the measurements also, i will post here on fridays (weigh in days) which is TOMORROW!!!!

Todays menu:

Breakfast 10am
2 Bananas - 250 calories

Lunch 1pm
Bean soup..Didnt eat the beans only the soup, with 2 slices of bread around 300 calories

snack - apple and 5 strawberries 100 calories

Dinner -
i will have my bean soup again - 300 calories

Evening snack -
1 apple - 80 calories
2 oranges - 160 calories

Total 1,190 calories - kinda low?
 
Well, here are some of my "Now" Pics.. They were taken i believe in august of last year, but i am still the same now. I really hope i can show some in between photos also and Afters of course :)

I lost !

Well today is FRIDAY! WEIGH IN DAY! Today has been exactly a week since i began my diet. I have not lost as many pounds as many people do the first week, but i feel it in my clothes, and measurements show a huge difference!

So today i weigh 195.4 pounds! Lost a bit over 3 lbs. Here are my measurements:



Bust - 41 1/4 in
arms 13 3/4 in
waist:
Above naval - 39 in
Below Naval - 41 1/4 in
Hips 42 1/2 in
Thighs 23 1/2 in
calves 16 1/4 in


Here are last weeks measurements:
Bust - 44 in
Arms - 14 in
Waist:
above naval 41 in
below naval 44 in
Hips - 44 in
thighs - 24 1/2 in
calves - 16 1/2 in

WAHOO!! lost around 11 inches !
