On the bandwagon...

Hi everybody! I just joined today and I saw this thread and think it will be a good one for me as I am bit scale obsessed. I was always skinny as a child (up to age 10) , but moving to an area where there were not a lot of kids to play with, I turned to TV and food for company and of course that led to weight gain. At almsot 5'7" tall my heaviest weight as about a year ago at 195lbs. Two and a half weeks ago I was at 193lbs and today I am 186.5, and my goal weight is 153lbs. I'm 26 yrs old now and I think that weight is more appropriate for me than my high school aspiration (which I actually got to and stayed at for a year) of 140lbs.

I am doing a program of moderate carbs, protien and fat (40:30:30), with junk food being a once a week treat. I try to keep my daily calories between 1200 -1500.

I also work out for one hour 5 days of the week on the following schedule:

1 Hour Cardio: Mon, Wed, Fri (Treadmill/Eliptical)

30-40 Minutes Cardio: Tue, Thur (Exercise Video...The Firm, Slim in 6, Jillian Michaels)

30 Minutes Bowflex Total Body Workout: Tue, Thur

My weekends are my time to relax and reflect on the previous week and plan for the following.


I am looking forward to posting my results for this week on friday and I hope to reach my goal by June 1, 2007.

You're right...what are we with out giving and getting support....Good luck to ALL board members in the weight loss struggle! To me it's like any other addiction or disease....you can never fully get rid of it but we do have the power to control it.

Mind over matter....

Seems the majority in the weigh in every day thread are struggling and losing motivation. I think i'll give this one a go instead.

congrats on losing another 3.5 pounds. :D

I'm eating a lot healthier than I was before, but I'm focusing on exercising, just a little bit more, because I want to be in better phsyical shape as I lose weight.


oh, of course. it's just in the past (for me) i would exercise like crazy, but eat junk and lots of it, so it wasn't helping. i love cardio & weights (especially dance cardio), but i'm just excited i've finally got my eating in check and now seeing steady progress. on to my new life and it's exciting! and thanks!!!!!

Yippee!!! I've lost 4 pounds this week!!!

I'm so close to the 150's I can taste it!!! 3 more meesly little pounds!

161 for me today!

A little late weighing in but...

Last Week: 282.5
This Week: 275

-7lb?? Hmmm... I'm skeptical. Even if my gain last week was all water, that's still nearly 5lb lost. The only thing I can think is that I'm not been eating right this week, maybe two meals a day. I'm going to cross my fingers and hope that it doesn't yo-yo back up as I go back to my normal calorie intake. :confused:

hey everyone!

I was a member here back in the summer but for whatever reason took a long time off from coming to this site. I've gained a few pounds since then and I've gained a whole lot of will power and motivation to actually do something about it this time.

I was considering joining the weigh in everyday club but I think that might be detrimental to me losing weight so I'll give this one a try:)

This past Friday: 171.0 (My scales only weigh 0 and .5, but I'm planning on getting a more accurate digital scale with body fat % too)

-4lb. I dunno - another big loss but I'll take it. I've been very conscious about eating this week. I tried to get at least the bottom rung of my goal. So hopefully this loss will stick, I hate the 'two steps forward one step back' thing that I've been doing lately.

i think you have to know how to handle it, that's all. but that's just me.

Last Week: 275
This Week: 273

-2lb. Woohoo! But this is an averaged number. I stepped on the scale at 9:30 when the alarm got me up (yes I have an alarm that goes off on my cell phone so that weigh in at the same time each week. ) it said 274.5, ok not bad and then I went back to bed... then at 11:00 when I got up for good, I weighed again just to see. It said 271.5. So I averaged the two together and called it good.

hi, i hope you dont mind me joining. i am a bit of a scales addict and did join the weigh yourself everyday club. but since my weight can fluctuate by 2-3lbs a day i was getting a bit fed up. anyway im down to 190.2, just over 2lbs lost this week and nearly into the 180`s:D :D cheers, slim
