Join me on the Saturday morning weigh in!

Help!

I for some reason can't motivate myself to do cardio! I manage to get strength in but it takes forever simply because I get distracted so easily. I know if I could just get up and start I'd get into a routine or something but I can't! I just feel so tired at work when I get home I can't bring myself to work out. And not eating junk food is really hard because that's what everyone else in my house eats. I try to keep stocked on healthy foods but not only is it inconvenient, everybody makes fun of me!

garr!

Kitty,

The only thing that works for me is to schedule in everthing I do. Without exception. Buy a day planner if you don't have one and schedule in cardio. And then just live by it. Take all the emotion out of your discision making. Emotion and training don't mix. I never want to work out. Ever. I do it because I've trained myself to obey orders. The orders of the Day Planner...lol Do cardio no matter how you feel.

As far as what other people eat or feel about what you eat. That's none of your business, all that needs to matter to you is what you need to do. Most of us on this site are probably rebels to some degree. Hell, I grew up in a Cuban household where all poeple did were smoke, eat s**tty and party. None of which I do today. And I'm damn proud of it. I'm also 42 and look 32, which can't be said about a lot of my family. Be the shining example of what is possible.

Also, thanks so much for all the kind words of encouragement. You really helped me.

James

well I weighed in this morning and it was 159, which is 2 lbs down. Every time I get down one or two I always think it's a fluke though...
So here's my rundown so far:

Dec: 166
March: 154
Last Thursday: 161
Now: 159

Thanks for the "tough love" james:D Another member suggested that I put my stuff into a schedule. It's kind of random, but it's there. The only problem is I'm not much of a schedule follower, even when I have one. And it's in the midst of my work schedule, which is ever-changing. But keep tabs on me, I'm feeling much more positive this morning!;)

kitty, try what I posted in the weight loss faq. It works for spotting trends. Because of water fluctuations your weight can be very hard to track. This method will even out those fluctuations and give you a more accurate picture of your bodyweight. Remember also that BF% is a much more important measure than weight unless your in a sport that divides people up by weight class such as wrestling. :D

See how to measure your BF% Here

From the Weight Loss Faq
Here is a good way to not get caught up in the lost a pound yesterday and gained two today. I am not a large guy 70.5" and my weight is fluctuating this week from 161 -165lbs. I learned from my high school wrestling days that if I needed to make 159 by tomorrow I could simply by dehydrating myself.

Because of fluctuation of water the only way to find your true weight is to use averages. Weigh yourself every morning immediately after rising and relieving yourself, for 5 to 7 days. Write down the number you get and forget it. At the end of 5 - 7 days add up all of the weights you wrote down and divide by the number of days you kept track of. Oh and don't average more than 7 days or you won't see trends.

Example
Mon. 163
Tue. 161
Wed 163
Thu 165
Fri. 164
Sat 162
Sun 165

Total - 1143/7 = an average weight of 163lbs

Thanks! I often weigh myself in the morning just to see how things are going, then only take the last day of the week seriously, but this is much better!

Alright so it sounds like everyone is on the upswing! :D NICE GUYS!!!! I have not missed a workout again this week and there are some days that I feel like I am thin and then there are days I feel as fat as a whale, but I suppose most people (girls esp.) go thru that. Alas tomorrow morning, I weigh in. I really hope I'm lower than 129. *kneels down to pray to the weightloss gods* PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me be less than 129!!!!!

Kitty,

Do you use the programs on your cardio gear? Or just run on manual? Trying the different programs/different resistances might serve to add some variety.

I don't have any machines so I just get on my bike and go explore the farmlands that are Northern Indiana.:) I love doing it, I can just never get myself to get up and go. I did today though! I just got back from a 14 mile bike ride! Yay! Lots of hills too, and I made a new buddy along the way!:D

7/7/06

Ok, so u know that I weigh in on Fridays rather than Saturdays. Well, today was no exception. And the results are in......drumroll please......

****I LOST ANOTHER 2 POUNDS!!!!****

AND I GOT A WINK AT THE STORE TO A MAN IN UNIFORM...GOTTA LOVE THAT. AND I GOT A BEEP AND A WAVE THE OTHER DAY WHEN I WAS ON MY RUN!!! :D

Sorry for the bragging....I'm just so excited!!!:D

I'm still flying high!!! Of course the wink from the guy in uniform certainly helped! ARGH!!! I can't wait to go running tonight! LOL

I purchased an Omron Fat Analyzer a week ago and would like to join this thread with my weekly progress:

7/1: 25.1%
7/8: 25.0%

Yesss, going in the right direction. :)

So my weigh in this morning was as expected 193.0lbs. Not so good. I gained .3lbs this week. It's the first week I haven't lost weight in a while. I was very strict with my eating for months and started to easy up a little and it has obviously not worked. So starting right now I'm going back to what I was doing, which is:

No Binging
No eating late night
No eating between meals
No eating off other peoples plates
NO: Soda, Pizza, Burgers, Fried Foods, Ice Cream, Whole Milk, Burritos, Cookies, Chocolate, Chips, Candy, Table bread, Coffee

I feel better now having made my mind up. No more games. To much is riding on me getting in shape to f**k around with this.

Monday starts two weeks of full time filming at my studio. I need to get my mojo back in a big way and I need it now. So I'm throwing the hammer down.

I'm going to go so hard this week. My goal is to be 190lbs next Saturday.

I go thru these periods and think yeah, ok I'm doing great...I can cheat JUST THIS ONCE and it turns into a couple days and before you know it.....well....I feel like that this weekend. And I will be working out again tomorrow. I changed my routine so that rathr than taking off Fri and Sat, I take off Sat and Sun. And this week it's working out in the am.
