i have posted on the newbie forum but due to some really good advice, im starting a diary here. For those of you that dont know me yet, im a 42 year old american living in england. I have been around 250 pounds for about 5 years, but being in england for the last 7 months and falling madly in love with their fish and chips, i have gained 46 pounds. So much of the food over here is fried.. which i love, but sure doesnt love me... and omg the chips over here... i dont know if its the diff kind of taters or what, but i could and have eaten them 3 meals a day, 7 days a week..
i have lots of reasons for wanting to lose weight.. i want to feel better, i want to look better..it's becoming hard to walk, and i refuse to let myself get bedridden cause i like soda and french fries ...i have been to a dr. recently, and am told im pretty healthy for being morbidly obese, and i got to thinking that the odds of stayin that way are pretty slim..most of my reasons are for me and me alone.. however there are other reasons i want to lose weight.. the biggest is my husband.. he and i met about 5 years ago on an online game called Everquest.. we played together for almost two years, then he flew from england to oregon to meet me, we got married 6 days later, and are working on 3 years now.. he loves me the way i am, and says the only thing about my weight that worries him are the health probs i could develope from it. my being soooo fat makes me feel bad for him... he is 11 years younger than me, and i get to go to bed each night with someone i love with all my heart, as well as am attracted to physically... i just want the same for him.. he says he is already... but is hard for me to understand that since there isnt a whole lot about me that i think is attractive atm. also because im older than him, i dont wanna get 'old before my time' and not be able to continue having a full marriage and be able to do things together. so, to sum it all up, i want to lose a min of 100 pounds.. im pretty big boned, and have huge boobs (which stay the same size whether im 130 lbs or 295), so at 195 ill look pretty good.. at least i did before:) i started watching my portions and exersizing two days ago, and have lost three pounds so far.. mainly water im sure... granted i have really not been eating enough, but i just wanted to shrink my stomach a lil for the first few days so smaller portions wont bother me as much.. im drinking bucketloads of water, in fact that is why im up at 2am on this pc... lots of water before bed is NOT condusive to a good nights sleep lol.
well, here is what i ate today:
half a choch chip cookie
two slices of bacon
two peices of white bread
banana
and about 1/2 cup of beef stew ( home made)
1/2 pint of lager
about 3 oz of coke.. had to have a taste:))

tomorrow im gonna start with cerial.. i read somewhere that eating cereal in the am.. fiber cerial will help you lose weight as well as make you feel fuller during the day... thanks for reading, and wish me luck, as i do all of you

you and yuor husband are such a cute couple :)

the need to pee every 10 minutes passes after about a week or so :) I kinda enjoyed the extra steps I was taking :)

welcome to your diary -glad you started one.. :)
 
I wouldnt mind the extra steps im taken if i was awake lol... waking up out of a dead sleep to pee is something i havnt done since i was a child... i guess it would be worse if i Didnt wake up to pee.. dont think hubby would appreciate it lol
 
awww.... wat a sweet romance story. I would love to hear more abt it.:p
glad you are on your way to a healthier you and a more fulfilling lifestyle.
Btw you can try adding more fruits and veg to your meals too. One banana won't be enough.

got up this am and ate two wheatabix wafers, 1/2 cup semi skimmed milk, and half a banana... had a cup of coffee and hubby forgot and put one tsp of sugar in it.. drank it anyway:(.. wont do again tho.. like it black almost as well.. will prob buy some splenda today so ill have that if i need a lil sweetner. i am soooo not a breakfast eater, and really dont like cereal all that much, but im trying to eat healthier as well as lose weight, so gonna try to get used to it.. 10am and im sitting here feeling bloated and icky... looked up the cals burned from both walking and stair climbing, and the stair climbing seems to burn the most the fastest, so in half hour or so gonna spend 15 mins ( if i can) climbing up and down my stairs.. will still try and go for a walk this afternoon after lunch.. just to get exersize in a couple times today. today is my treat day.. mini fish and chips tonight for tea.. i cant wait.. i love those damn things lol... should prob do the stair climbing thing 2-3 times today since tonights cal intake will be higher than my usual..
kinda worried about this weekend.. will be my first weekend since i started this and hubby will be home, and we usually veg in front of the pc's, eat chocholate, ice cream nd all kinds of garbage... he says he wont have any either cause he doesnt wanna make it harder on me, which i appreciate, but im gonna have to get used to the fact some time or another that people are gonna be eating wonderful things in front of me...he is 6'5 and weighs 200 pounds...he should be able to eat his chocholate, and not suffer cause im a cow atm lol...
i hope everyone is doing well today... staying positive, and reaching their goals.. keep it up everyone... WE CAN DO IT:)

he should be able to eat his chocholate, and not suffer cause im a cow atm lol..

I know he loves me the way i am... but I do feel like such a cow... which isnt really a completely bad thing, cause if i felt beautiful, then why diet and change my lifestyle... i dont wanna be a cow anymore.. so i think ill say 25 times daily..... you wont be a cow much longer.... youre getting hot lol...
Just had lunch..
2 peices of wheat bread
1 slice pressed corned beef
about one slice worth of cheddar cheese
one small tomatoe
12 oz coke

figured out my calories for today including the mini fish and chips im gonna have for dinner... comes to 1575... going for a walk soon... one hour... and earlier i did my stair climbing thing.. gosh im soooo not fit... was breathing so hard afterward, i sounded like a locomotive.. but i did a few mins anyhow.
tomorrow i wont have quite as many calories cause the fish and chip thingy is a once a week treat on fri nights....will only lower it by about 100 calories per day tho.. ill do 1450 for a week with exersize and see how well i do with the whole weight loss thingy.. if i dont lose any ill lower my cal intake.. if i lose too much ill raise it a bit... gosh, that would be nice lol... have also had about 2 pints of water today.. yuch
and btw... isnt my kink either... but would have been funny in a way with my warped sense of humor lol... thanks again for all the support

doin pretty well this weekend so far on my (diet) life style change.. was kinda worried cause is the first weekend that hubby is home since i started, and i was worried that i may give into bad habits... havnt tho.. other than i did have a glass of coke yesterday.. but it's so good lol.. still only had 1525 cals yesterday in all.
this am i have had one biscuit of wheatabix, 1/2 cup milk, and half a banana.. prob wont eat but once more today as its roast day and it will be done in a couple hours.. dont eat too much there cept the veg and some mashed taters sans gravy this time tho:( lol... cant really eat much of the meat due to the state of my teeth, but will try to eat some. biggest prob i have noticed is getting the water in that i should.. is 2pm here atm and havnt had any as of yet.. guess i should get down the stairs and get some when im thru here. have had 3 cups of black coffee tho lol

well, been ill for a couple days.. found out im big time hypoglycemic.. cant let my blood sugar get low anymore, so guess ill just eat more often, smaller portions, and exersize more. have to have quite a bit of sugar in my diet now so gonna have to exersize loads..yesterday i spent 3 hours painting a bedroom, and i feel like that burned a lot of calories.. gonna clean out the pc room today and paint it... but will soon run out of rooms to paint lol
