I only recently found the weight loss forum and ive been really inspired reading about everyones achievments so i thought id start my own diary!

Ive pretty much been overweight my entire life i was born 10 pounds lol! Anyway after years of trying faddy diets and never seeing good results i became serious about my weight loss plan. I started out at 122 kgs (269 lbs) and after dieting and shedding buckets of sweat i weighed in this morning at 114 kgs (251 lbs). Im 5'8 tall and i hope to get down to about 75 kgs (165 lbs).

The first few weeks were really though i didn't feel like i was getting anywhere but once my clothes started to feel a bit roomier i was encouraged to keep going. Having lost 8 kgs (17 lbs) sensibly i really hope im going to be able to keep it up and achieve my goal weight.

I used to obsess with junk food - crips, choclates, take aways all the ususal i suppose. The funny thing now is i honestly dont even miss them (i'd never of thought that was possible!)

Anyway i'll keep ye all updated on how my weight loss is going and i look forward to reading all of your journeys!

AWe sound similar :). My highest was 260. I came back here in July ready to lose weight (by then I was down to 249). I'm also 5'8" and shooting for 160. It really does feel good to feel roomier in clothing! I've been feeling that lately. I also feel that way, where I don't miss the junk as much as I used to.

Do you have any plans as far as diet, or exercise?

Hey Loch, wow were almost identical lol! as far as diet im just on a calorie restrictive one trying to consume no more than 1300 calories a day. For exercise ive taking up going for long walks for some reason i find this more effective than going to the gym, i dont dread it and i gives me a chance to clear my head. I do 4-5 walks a week the circuit i do is 3 miles long. I've also been looking at some classes like zumba and salsa i love dancing so i might try one of them out :coolgleama:

Hey Jessie!! :seeya:

Welcome to the forum!! Congrats on the weight loss so far!! You definitly have the right mindset for this!! I'm 5'7 and my biggest weight was 248 i think!!Well done on going for 5 walks a week, i used to do that months ago, and i felt so much healthier afterwards:)

YOU CAN DO THIS.

Post everyday to tell us of your progress!!

Another day down, and did really well today stuck to my diet and did cardio boxing again. My arms were killing me when i woke up this morning from yesterdays boxing, but i pushed through the pain and felt great after i'd finished. Feeling really positive today :coolgleama:

AHey Jess! Grats on your losses so far. I'm thinking about getting some kind of boxing mixed into my workout as well. Seems like it would really kick your ass :D

Hey daybehaviour, thanks for stopping by! oh my god i dont think theres anything like cardio boxing its pure torture lol but it will all be worth it in the end :coolgleama:

didn't get the chace to post over the past few days been super busy! went on a long six mile walk yesterday with my friend the distance passes way quicker when you have someone to share it with i find! My legs were absolutly exhausted last night so i treated myself to an early night and woke up feeling great this morning =] gonna fit in some exercise later today by doing some dancing, looking forward to it already!

AHi Jessie :seeya:

I so know what you mean about exercising being addictive, i find that i think about that more than food now....Which is always a plus!!
You sound really motivated, it's great isn't it. I have been doing my healthy eating plan for 60 days now and i'm still at that stage.
It would be great to see what you are eating :)

I look forward to reading your journey.

Awow six miles that's awesome. I get tired just thinking about that LOL. You're so lucky to have someone willing to go that far with you :)

Hey guys, sorry i havent made in on over the past few days my internet was down :( totally lost without it dont know how i spent my evenings before it was invented lol! Anyways been keeping up with my diet and walking most days still feeling really good. I'm starting college tommorrow so absolutly determind to avoid the dreaded freshers fifteen!

My diet is just a calorie restrictive one so not cutting out anything (except junk food) just having smaller portions, snacking on fruit when im hungry and trying to drink at least 2 litres of water a day. I don't consume more than 1300 calories a day.

Thanks irishprincess =]

First day of college done and it went awsome, the canteen is not exectly diet friendly so i shall be bringing my own lunch every day, went for a walk this afternoon once i finished and hoping to fit some cardio in this evening!

Been mad busy with college all week but everytings been going brilliant with my diet and exercise regimes. Walked to and from college today which is a good 2 miles and did it pretty quickly too, its amazing how quickly you can build up speed if you stick with it! Had some hot and spicy seasoned chicken for dinner this evening, it was beatiful (plus it helped with my water intake as it roasted the mouth off me lol) and avoided all snacks today so feeling pretty good this evening =]

So college has been going amazinlgy well the people are really friendly and im enjoying myself. It feels great to be doing something worthwhile again. I've been sticking with my plan of action and weighed in this morning at 113 kgs (249 lbs) its the lighest ive been in YEARS so im feeling really good about the scales moving in the right direction! Plus im delighted to be out of the 250's club :willy_nilly:
