Jess - The road to happiness and health :)

You look great Jess. I've been wearing jeans for the first time in aoubt 20 years and love it.
I'm glad that your boots finally arrived. Post a photo of you in them for us to see. :)

:iagree: Yes, photos please!!!

Are the boots comfortable enough to wear all day at work?

Thanks so much Ecky!
That's awesome you're back in jeans, well done! That's a long time to go. I've pretty much lived in jeans since I was 15 or so! I can't wait till my legs firm up a bit and I can buy some really nice ones

I'm still chipping away, lost another 0.5kg this week. Down to 66 now. That's 145 pounds.

It's been a good week except for a bit of tension between 2 of the ladies at work. Hopefully they'll work it out. Soon! I've been doing a few extra hours too because one lady has had to leave due to a heart condition and another has damaged her shoulder. They're going to hire 2 new people so I won't be the newbie anymore (yay!).

Life is generally good right now. I had a day this week though where I really wanted chocolate. I ended up having 2 Kahluas with ice and skim milk and they were so nice! I feel OK about it.

I hope everyone is doing great, and I will try and catch up on all the goss and diaries tonight and tomorrow. Have a lovely weekend everyone!

P.S. It's getting cooler here now, pretty cold today and I went through my wardrobe again and threw all my 14's out (stashed some to sell on eBay). I'm excited about wearing my nice scarves and black velvet jacket again (it's a 12 and I wore it to get married in and it is actually quite roomy now!!!). I have 2 really cool pairs of skinny jeans now too, light blue denim and purple :)
I need to buy some groovy leggings to wear with the hot boots too!

Wow Jess! You have come so far. You look really good. What is a size 12 in Australia equivalent to, like a size 6 in the U.S.?

Also, you can have winter now, we are ready for Spring. It is currently flash flooding in my town right now. Torrential down pours.

Finally, thank you so much for posting in my journal and offering your kind words of reassurance.

Keep up the good work!

Derrick

Jess - the photos look great - you are doing so well. I love hearing about the wardrobe clearout - bet that feels brilliant to get rid of the old big clothes!

Thanks so much Derrick - I really appreciate it.
I'm not sure what an Aussie 12 equals in the USA! I'll have to google that one :) I've been buying some size 10's now too :D
Yeah I'll bet you guys are sick of the cold alright, it seems to have been such an extreme winter for you in the USA and England! Hope you're OK in regards to the floods - take care driving and everything won't you. Scary stuff, flooding. Hope to catch up on your diary again soon :waving:

Hey jjJay! Thanks mate! Hell yeah, It's been crazy though, I've been throwing stuff out since last October! I'm kind of looking forward to a stable size now so I can actually buy some awesome clothes and KEEP them! Lol. I keep buying things only to get rid of them a month later. Shouldn't complain though hey? :)
Hope things are great for you too!

Here's some pics from today, will pop a couple more on tomorrow.

Had a fantastic day today. I took the kids to the local market and they both bought some lollies and some toys. Then we went to the library and did some shopping then home to play video games and watch Australia's Funniest Home Videos.

Tomorrow we're going to all watch a movie together and if it's warm enough, go to the pool.

On the 19th March the new season of Roller Derby starts here so I'm going to try and organise an awesome outfit to wear to it. Love the Derby, can't wait, and I'm going with a big bunch of really cool people I haven't seen in ages too. It's always so much fun :biggrinjester:

Tomorrow I'm going to make a schedule for exercise for the coming week and hang it on my wardrobe door to motivate me. Food has been great, loads of chicken salad wraps and fruit and veggies. Too many cashews though :blush5:
P.S. The jacket I have on in the pics is the one I wore when I got married, 8 or so years ago. I'm back BABY!!!

Looking great there Jess! I can't believe how much difference there has been in your face over the past several months! Such a huge change!

I just saw a thing on TV last night on roller derby - I'd never really heard of it before, but apparently it's getting to be a big deal all over the world. I might like to watch it, but don't think I could ever participate. I fall down enough all by myself without having the help of all those other people trying to knock me down too! LOL!

Hope you are having an awesome week!

Hey Tigs :)
The Derby rocks! It's so fun going to the games, everyone is so keen and they all cheer and go off when someone gets a penalty etc.
It's been a pretty good week, thanks heaps!

Weigh in again today, and guess what? 0.5 again! Lol. It's all good. That's 65.5now or 144.4 pounds.

I'm going to do a Then and Now list.

Then:
I used to be 89kg's.
I used to cry in my car when I was driving on my own.
I was really depressed.
I dressed like a man.
I felt sick and bloated, constantly.
I never had any motivation.
I was lazy.
I was unemployed.
I was so ashamed of myself.
I always worried that the kids would be embarrassed of me.
My skin was so oily and pimply.

Now:
I WANT to get out of bed in the morning.
I feel healthy.
I am proud of myself.
I have consistantly lost weight every week since October last year.
I am in my ideal weight range.
I can wear boots with skinny jeans!
I am a size 10 to 12!
My kids are proud of me.
I feel somuch more confident.
I am working full time.
I haven't cried for ages...
My skin is pretty good now, I only get the occasional pimple now :)
I'm dressing in much nicer clothes, and feel like a girl!

I had my son's birthday this week. It was lovely. We bought him heaps of Toy Story Lego, XBox games, Bart Simpson tshirts, and lots of other things, We really spoiled him this year, so grateful for my job, it really allowed me to go that extra mile for him. We had his party today at a big indoor playcentre. He invited 10 kids from school and everyone had a ball. I got to wear my new boots for the first time (yes I am still obsessed with them :) ) and I felt great!
Here's some pics -
I tried them on with a skirt and tights but didn't feel comfortable, so I changed to the jeans.

In my opinion the skirt with the boots looks awesome!!!

I really like the idea of the then and now list. You've done such an awesome job and have every reason to be proud of yourself for all that you've accomplished!

Howdy mate!!! Thank you for the uplifting words! I was feeling down yesterday too so it brightened my spirits!! Love your list! Seems like it's a good way of keeping things in perspective. You're right of course about progress and how it depends on consistency. Wouldn't it be amazing to just push a button and be there! lol But I guess we appreciate it more when we know we're successful through hard work and dedication! And boosts our confidence too! =) Keep it up Jess! =) :hat:

Hi Tigs! Thanks so much, I'm always doing these lists in my notebook when I'm feeling like I'm struggling. Thanks so much for saying that about the skirt, I'll have to brave up and wear it soon then :) I just chickened out lol.

Thanksso much Soccerrox :) Bless ya!
I've dreamed of that button before lol :) Yeah you're so right!!!
Will do, hoping to do lots of weights this week and I'm going to focus on crunches bigtime. Hope you have a great week :)

Weigh in day was yesterday again, another 0.5 down. Woot!
I went to the Derby with my mates last night, it was so fun! My team (the Vixens) won. Their colour is purple so I wore purple skinny jeans with my new boots. I got lots of compliments from my friends (on the weight as well as my Docs!!!) which was so lovely. I saw my friend Nikki who has lost 68kg's now and she was my original inspiration, she looks bloody fantastic and seems so happy :) She has lost more than I weigh. Amazing!

I'm really sick the last couple of days so haven't really eaten much at all. I even ate some chocolate just for pure energy this afternoon as I hadn't eaten anything else! I have a nasty chest infection :( It worries me that I'm having to eat throat lozenges at work to stop my cough because they're so sugary but what do you do?

I've been so busy maybe my body's just telling me to be careful or something!

Something cool/funny that's been happening is that my hubby has been getting my clothes mixed up with Cate's - my daughter (she's only 8 years old!!!). Outrageous!!! We're both wearing size 10 (well hers is girls 10 and mine is ladies 10). I can still hardly believe it...

For exercise last week I did a fair bit of rollerskating and some walking but nothing massive.

I now only have 1kg to go until my original goal, but I'm going to move it to 62, so that will be another 3kg from here.

Have a great week everybody!

Hey sweetie! How are you feeling? Hopefully your chest infection is better.

LOL on your hubby mixing up your and your daughter's clothes! Before you know it you can both share the same clothes! I have a feeling that day is coming soon for me too. I'm not too sure how I feel about that - I always HATED loaning out my clothes to friends or to my sister back in high school. Seemed like they ALWAYS returned them with stains on them! GGGGGGRRRRRR!!!!!!! Really made me mad sometimes, especially since I worked hard to earn money to buy my own clothes!

Have a great weekend! I can't believe you are SO CLOSE to your original goal! That's SO awesome! Good for you!

Thanks so much Tigs! Lol yeah I don't know about sharing clothes! I only had 2 stinky brothers growing up so didn't have to deal with that ha ha!

The chest is still pretty bad but funnily enough I feel really good otherwise! It's been hard at work trying not to cough while serving customers - we've had big specials on this week too so it's been SUPER busy. Great workouts every day though! I've been lifting 15kg crates a lot :) Funny I actually enjoy something like that!

Weigh in day again today and another 0.5 down so just 0.5 to go till I'm at the original goal WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!

I've been adding a couple of small treats to my diet which has been so lovely. Just some nice olives from work and semi dried tomatoes and Biltong too. Mainly on a Friday night when hubby watches footy (I get him cheese and olives, crackers and salami etc for a treat). I really enjoyed the olives last night but woke up with furry teeth and bad breath this morning!

Life is good! I'm hoping to take the kids to see Rango at the movies tomorrow and then an ice cream and a walk around Wollongong harbour/lighthouse after as a nice day out. We're also going to buy them some hermit crabs so they'll be so excited about that! It's a surprise :)

I love Saturdays. I get to wear what I want and I always feel good about myself with something nice on. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

hey Jess, so pleased to hear that things are going so well - your list was AWESOME - it really does help show how far you have come when you do a comparison like that.

Time to go out and get some great new clothes I think.....should be spoiling yourself a bit as well as the kids!

Thanks jjjJay! Definitely, now I am so close to finished I can really select some nice 'keeping' clothes soon! I can't wait to finally have a happening/hot wardrobe. I think buying my jeans will be the best thing - I've always pictured myself at the end in really nice jeans with no muffin top lol :)
Although it has been nice buying new clothes along the way, it is still a bit frustrating that after a month they don't fit. Thank god for eBay hey?

Goal wardrobe staples list :)

Skinny jeans
Flares (jeans)
Little black dress
Military jacket - black
Grey boots - mid calf
Colourful tops (not just black all the time!)
