Jericho's March to the Scavenger Hunt!

Alright...let's get this out of the way. I've gone back up to 360. It's completely my fault and I understand that. I've lost track and lost focus. When I lost my job, everything sort of fall down around me mentally. Bad food choices and not moving about has caused it to move up.

But now I have a goal.

On May 12th and 13th, Amy and I are signed up for an official Scavenger Hunt being held by D23 (the official Disney fan club). For 2 days, teams will have to go through the 4 parks to get answers to questions for prizes. We are team Kungaloosh (named after the drink in the now gone Adventure's Club).

Needless to say, that's going to take a lot of walking and such. Losing weight and walking will help build that up. Also, I really think I have a chance seeing how often I go and my knowledge of the parks.

That and I REALLY need to get back on track. So, time to buckle down.

The goal is 20 pounds. It's doable but it's a reach. I'll really be happy just to see it back down. It begins again. I hope to post something everyday to keep going.

Go team Kungaloosh!

Sounds like a great goal. When I started walking again I could only go 1/4 mile before getting tired out. Now look I can go 7 miles.

You can do this. Good luck.

Daily weight: 358.6

So, one day down but each day is a day and such and such right? I was getting a shower and I realize I didn't say the best part of this trip. On the weekend of 14/15 is another event. It is sort of a conference but it is all about Walt Disney World and its history. We are talking Imagineers and designers and the stuff I just eat up. That still isn't the best part. The last hour of the conference is a special concert by none other than Robert Sherman.

Ok, I know some of you went who?

Robert Sherman is the surviving brother of the Sherman brothers who created many of the songs we know and love (or hate depending on the song). They wrote the songs for Mary Poppins, the Parent Trap, It's a Small World, The Enchanted Tiki Room, One Little Spark..dear lord if you EVER been to a Disney park, you know their music..and to hear it played by the creator of them is a once in a lifetime event for a Disney nut like me.

I had suggested Amy should throw her panties on stage to him.

She didn't agree.

Well, I been trying to make the changes I need to get back on track and it does seem to be working. I knew most of that weight was regained water so I'm not throwing myself a party here.

ok maybe a small one

I did wake up with a bit of a swollen tongue..I got to remember to stay away from those salty items before bed.

We had painted my office room this Sunset color that looks great but I was sore as hell after..shows me just how immobile I have become. The weather is starting to warm so that is good. I can start walking. Meanwhile, I've decided to start doing morning stretches if for no other reason as to get these muscles to move a bit

Hmmmmm........ I know it might not be convenient, but you're probably going to be able to walk for about 4 hours straight before taking on your scavenger hunt. I guess I'd recommend setting a daily goal of 1 hour of walking during the day, and try to do 3 hours of walking at least one day each weekend for the first month. During the week, if you can, try to build up speed and power by using a treadmill. Then, on you long weekend walks, you can walk as slow as you want.
That is what I would try to do.

Also.... I would see if you'd be allowed to take a walking stick into the park (or a cane if you're not allowed) with you into the park. Two day of walking is lot for anyone who doesn't spend their days standing or walking all day. A walking stick helps a LOT.
***** Be sure you train with it a bit too, but not too much. (so you get use to the rhythm of walking with one)

OK Jericho hows Team Kungaloosh doing? I hope it's going well for you. Just think of all the fun you'll have.
While I was out on one of my hikes that started out up hill at a good incline I came across a women that I am sure weighed around 350lbs and maybe about 5'6". Now we were already about 1 mile along the trail. She was going at a slow pace and had to stop many times to rest but she kept going until she made it to the top of the hill. I felt very happy for her and I could see she was so proud of herself.
Just goes to show what a person can do when they are determined to reach a goal.

Good luck!

I am glad you are a man with a plan again, that is Great!

You can lose 20 pounds for the Scavenger Hunt, I just know you can!

You are losing weight again yea!!!!! I have never been to Walt Disney World...Yeah I did wonder who is Robert Sherman....But special concert, must be great and something to look forward to. That would get me up and losing again. Tell Amy I said to carry a clean pair of panties in her purse to throw on stage, lol.

Wow 4.2 lost I am impressed! I am catching up on all your messages. Try one time not eating after 7:00pm. It will be worth it OR buy a veggie and fruit tray and snack on it, if you got to eat after 7:00pm. Lol You are getting my motivation back up, I just may reach my goal!!!

I am waiting on your next post...you have me excited!!:bigear:

:grouphug: for Jericho:hurray: You can do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!hurray!

Here's a little Disney trivia from the Disney poster book I have. This poster book is from 1977 and has all the posters in it there are 22.

What was Walter Disney's middle name?

What is his birthday?

What city was he born in?

You should know these Jericho!

Well, hello again. As you can see by the ticker and all, I've gained back to 370.

It has not been a good time period for Amy and me. While the Disney trip/event is coming really soon..it might not happen. My tax refund went from getting back 1000 to owing 1000 from some old tax info that we got. Still no job so I've been depressed so everything has been a mess

and in a mess, I emotionally eat. It could be worse but I need to get my head back in the game. I been away from here too long so...once again, let's try this whole thing again :)

Hi Jericho,

It's good to see you back and restarting. Sometimes it's hard to keep up the motivation. Try to think about all the good things about losing weight. You'll feel so much better and have a lot more energy.

I'm doing things I didn't think I would ever be able to do again by just by losing weight.

It is hard to stay motivated!

Sorry that the trip might not work out for you and Amy. But I am so glad you are not giving up.

I would love to go back to the Ocean again, but don't have the money for a trip. But I am so looking forward for the opening of the Public Pool in June. I always have a great time at the pool.

Good Luck To You and Amy!!

Alright, we leave today so you won't see me for close to two weeks. As a personal challenge, this is my weight (clothed actually): 365

So here is the challenge..to come back 2 pounds lighter..lighter from a place I tend to enjoy more calorie heavy meals. Time to change that.

Here's to hopefully winning that scavenger hunt with amy and winning the cruise (take about a weight loss modivational tool if I do).
