Sunday, Sunday, SUNDAAAAAY!!!

Game of Thrones is my jam. It is NOT, however, Jen's jam. She thinks I watch it solely for the boobies. But, she's wrong. I watch it for the man-butts.

Like I've said, it's hard to get into a show if you haven't seen it from the beginning. I haven't a clue what's going on. It's like you watching my soap opera with less boob and butt action. lol.

Right? It's not that I think Game of Thrones is a bad show. There's just so much to catch up on to really get it!

Exactly. What I've seen is actually pretty good. I just need the back story. haha.

So yesterday we went out and did a lot of shopping. Usually when we go out, we get a bunch of stuff for the kids and nothing for us....but not this time!! NOPE! We came home with a bunch of shit for US. It felt good.... Like Christmas. haha! I got some new clothing stuff I've been needing and 2 new pair of shoes. One pair of exercise shoes and one cute pair. I came home and went through my closet and drawers and threw out all the old ratty stuff I've been wearing that was like 3 sizes too big. I separated my closet into winter stuff, stuff I need to lose a little weight to fit into, and stuff I can currently wear. I realized I have quite a few things I can wear if I just lose like 20 lbs. lol. OH, I also bought 2 new shirts that were a little snug. I figure they will be additional motivation to keep losing. I think one should fit good by summer, and the other one will fit by Fall. I'm looking forward to getting to wear them! :)

Today I've given the dog a bath, cleaned the fish tank, cleaned the newt tank, did a bunch of laundry, cleaned up the bathrooms, swept, did the dishes, and a few other things. It's been a busy morning, but it's beautiful out and that always makes me want to get stuff done. The sun is shining, the windows are open. I am loving the fresh air!

I will try to catch up on diaries tonight! :)

Yay for shopping and having stuff to wear that makes you feel good! You keep newts? That´s so cool! Pretty pretty please pictures?

Yeah, I have a newt. I did have two, but sadly one passed away last year. :( I got them for my 19th birthday and next month I will turn 36. haha. So she's almost 17 years old. At least I think it's a girl, from what I can tell. lol. :) I've had many pets over the years, including the newts, gerbils, 2 lizards, 2 fire bellied toads, 2 cockatiels, a prairie dog, cats, a dog, a fish. ...not all at the same time of course. lol.

This is from during one of her cage cleanings. She'll usually strike a pose for me.

So I weighed in at 212 again this morning. Which I'll take, because it means I didn't gain anything over the weekend. lol.

I'm tired. I got like 4 hours of sleep last night. It was not a good night. Tonight is definitely going to be an early night for me. I'm also splurging a bit tonight. We had tacos for dinner and I'll probably have something sweet later. After last night and this morning... I need it. ..and that's all I can really say about that. Let's just say it was interesting. Chef might explain in his diary.

What's your newt's name, honey? I bet it's something very creative and imaginative. So, what is it? Go on. Tell everybody. :seeya:

And the vote for "Nerdiest Thing Said in Jen's Journal" goes tooooo...

HAHAHA, good stuff.

Says the man who JUST looked at me, gasped and said........"The Jeopardy online test starts tomorrow!" ..... dork.

Thanks, Autumncrossing! :)

Hey! I'm fairly certain I've commented on one of your diaries before, maybe? haha. My memory ain't fantastic.
I'm sorry you are having troubles with your mom. That must be quite hard to deal with.
Your newt Newt is cute haha.
Great job on all the weight loss, that very impressive! You are so close to your goal!

So yesterday morning I took my mom to the store and she ended up getting the stuff to make banana bread. When I brought my kids back over there in the afternoon, the banana bread was all done. So guess who had banana bread for breakfast this morning.... Mmm hmm....me. It was a just a small piece, but I want to eat the rest of it now. The rest of it is for the kids though! My mom had weight loss surgery in January, so she's gotten into the nice new habit of baking stuff and then giving "my kids" the majority of it and keeping only a small bit for herself, because she can't eat that much. Great for the kids...not so great for me. lol! Willpower... I'm digging deep for it today. Stay out of the banana bread, Jen! Stay out!

Ooo a newt with an attitude! She´s a cutie though, and you must be doing something right to keep her alive for so long :)

Baking stuff you don´t eat and then fattening up other people is cruel and unusual punishment by the way, although I seem to remember a precedent. Something with two german siblings off in some wood or other...

Okay, I'll try to top AC for nerdiest. The species name "pyrrhogaster" is Latinized Greek derived from "purrhos" which means flame and "gaster" which means belly. So in this case the species name and common name are both fire bellied. I get irritated when they don't match. Quercus nigra for instance translate to black oak, but the common name is water oak. Whereas Quercus velutina is called black oak but it's Latin name means velvet oak. It's like normal people don't speak Latin or something. Idiotas!

Also nice work!

Thanks, guys!

Q, I think you won.. haha! :)

211.2 this morning. I said before that I'd give the not calorie counting thing a month. It's been about a month. I've lost 8 lbs. I know I probably could have lost more if I had been counting, but I still feel pretty good about it, so I'm going to keep going with it for now. I really don't want to go back to counting. What I'm doing now feels more "normal" and something I could actually do for the rest of my life. Where calorie counting is not something I'm going to do forever. I would go insane. I think in the past when I've fallen off the wagon a big part of it was because I just got sick of counting calories. I needed a break from it. I was pretty strict with myself and then I stopped and all hell broke loose for days, weeks, months. lol. Now that I'm not being as strict, I haven't really felt the need to take a break. If that makes sense. Is it going to take longer to get to my goal?.... Yeah, probably...but I'd rather lose it a bit slower than not lose it at all. I know I need to exercise more and that would help. My next phase is going to be committing to .....SIGH....exercising at least 4 or 5 days a week. I need to tone up and obviously sitting on my butt and dieting alone is not going to help with that.

So overall I'm pretty happy with the last month.

My birthday is next month on May 20th. Since my last birthday was ...well... pretty sucky, since I almost DIED....This one should be much better. haha! I mean it can't get any worse, right? And if it does... I won't be around for it. hahaha. Yes, I have a morbid sense of humor. Aaaanyway... I'm going to set a few goals for the next month and my birthday:

•I'm hoping to be down to 203 lbs by my birthday. That would mean I'd lose 8 more pounds over the next month. Totally doable.
•Exercise at least 4 times a week. Doable... but I'm probably going to bitch about it a lot. You've been warned. lol.
•Log my exercise on here. Totally doable.

Great job on figuring out the diet without calorie counting! Find something you like to do or might like if you got better at it and the exercise part will be easier.

Great job on losing 8 pounds in a month, and that's awesome that you are figuring out what works for you! Exercising was always more difficult for me than getting my eating under control, so I feel your pain!
What is the story with you almost dying on your last birthday?! Glad you made it!
