Pilates is harcore, jen. I didn't get to do any last semester due to a scheduling conflict, but I'm really looking forward to a pilates class this semester. Good job with the food!

Thanks, Cory! It is definitely hardcore..haha! :)

Oh lord..Da Chef? I'm gonna start calling you that around the house, while you're cooking my food... Get back in the kitchen! :p

So today I did 30 minutes on the treadmill and Chef and I did the 15 minute beginner Pilates workout again. It hurts to type this.. no joke. haha! It's a good pain though. I feel like I've made progress in the last week. My calories are good for today so far, and I'll probably have a small snack later. :)

This guy sounds sketchy to me, Jen. I'd get a restraining order...

Today was a rest day. I'm finally feeling a little less sore all over, so that's good. My calories are on track, and should be a hair under 1300 after my snack tonight.

I've come to the conclusion that I really need a couple things for exercising: an iPod shuffle and new shoes. Right now I'm using my phone as a music player, but I can't put anything from my iTunes account on it, which is where most of my music is. This means I have to listen to the same crappy old songs that are on my phone over and over, and it's getting old really quick. My shoes have also got to go! They're old and I need something with more support. Sooooo.... I think those will be some rewards for meeting certain marks in the very near future. I might go ahead and get the shoes after I get down under 200 again, since I really need them.

208.2 this morning.

Tomorrow is my official weigh-in day! I'm going to be super extra good today with food. I'm also going to be doing the treadmill and Pilates at some point. We ordered a couple new exercise videos, and they should be here this afternoon! :)

My official weigh-in for this week was 207.6. So, that's almost a 2.5 lb loss for this week. I'm happy with that.

My goal for next Saturday is 205, although I would not complain at all about seeing 204. I also want to keep up with the exercise every other day, and work on drinking more water.

You -5.8
Me -4.0

I've closed the gap a bit. Both of our official weights should be nice tomorrow.

Hmmm.. I guess I better pick up my pace. That gap is getting a wee bit too close for my liking. :)

The challenge with Jen:
We are in a race to our respective century marks. Her's to the 100s and mine to the 200s.

Begining 1/5/2014
Jen 214
Quercus 330

End of week 1 1/11/2014
Jen 210 -4 of 14.1 to goal 28% complete
Quercus 328.8 -1.2 pounds of 30.1 to goal 4% complete

End of week 2 1/11/2014
Jen 207.6 -6.4 of 14.1 to goal 45% complete
Quercus 324.8 -5.2 pounds of 30.1 to goal 17% complete

You are still creaming me. My weightloss has caught up a bit in pounds lost, but I could double my pounds lost today and I'd still be 9% behind you. As is I'm 28% behind, but I will give myself credit for a less than shameful showing this week.

WHOOOO HOOO!! 2.5 is a good amount congrats! I know water intake is hard for me in winter...I just want warm tea and coffee's this time of year. Keep up the awesomeness!!

Aww, good job, honey!!! You can totally make your goal of 205 lbs by next Saturday...especially with our new pilates DVDs to get through, ugh.

Thanks, everyone!! I'm super happy with my progress this week. :)

You're doing great! Trust me, I could still screw this up somehow... haha!

Ok, so today was a pretty good day. I'm ending the day at around 1250 calories. I did 40 minutes on the treadmill. My hip started hurting about half way through though, which was was not fun. And my music player thing quit working about 10 minutes before I was done. The treadmill with no music is torture. TORTURE. But I did it anyway.

Tomorrow Chef and I are doing our new Pilates video that we just got in the mail the other day. Should be fun, and by "fun", I mean not fun at all.... haha! But we will suffer through it together. And I will admit watching Chef twist into weird positions is quite amusing. :D

Thanks, Hana! :)

We did the Pilates video earlier. The one we bought has several different workouts to choose from. So, we did the first two to start with. One was 8 minutes and the other one was 15 minutes. We both liked it. It was easy to follow, and not nearly as annoying as the one we found on YouTube. Hopefully we can eventually build up to doing the full workout.

Exercising is definitely making my back feel a little better. It's not a huge improvement by any means, but I can definitely tell a difference.

I weighed in at 207 on the dot this morning. :)

I don't know if you know this or not, but it's pretty common for physical therapists to recommend pilates to people who have mild back issues. That might be what's helping you. It helped me when I was having trouble.

I have heard that, and I would say it is definitely working for me. It may be hard as hell, but it's totally worth any improvement. Just the small improvement I've seen so far is great! :)

Great work happening in here. I'm away from the scale for a bit, but I'll have my Saturday weigh-in for sure. I ate the rest of my venison jerky today so for the rest of the week I will be completely vegan and running a half hour after fieldwork, so I'm hoping for a big drop Saturday. I have some catching up to do.

I went to a pilates class tonight. I definitely think I'm going to be sore tomorrow. It's one of my favorite classes though. :D

I started popping into your other half's diary so I figured it was only right to start to get to know you too. :)

I can see by your signature that you've already made some amazing progress towards your goal weight. Very inspirational!

It sounds like you might be struggling with water consumption? I did too, but I started a new routine which surprisingly increased my water intake. Instead of exercising at night, I now get up at 4:45am-5:00am and do my exercise first thing in the morning. Since doing that, by noon I've already had close to 2 liters of water. I've also found it helped to curb my appetite throughout the day since my belly's full of water. Anyway, I'm not sure when you exercise or if it's possible for morning workouts, just thought I'd throw it out there. :)
