Jen's Diary

AI'm not new to this site at all. This is not my first diary. I requested that my first one be deleted. I want a
fresh start in 2012, and a fresh diary is a great way to start! I've been a member of this site since 2009. I lost 45 lbs the first year I was on here, and have kept it off. Last year I was focused on other things, and not on weight loss, but I did manage to maintain my weight. I'm starting at 245 this year, and would ultimately like to get as close to 180 as I can by December. Sooooo.... let's do a little math.. *whips out the calculator, because she sucks at math!*... that's 65 lbs to lose!

A little info about me....

• I'm 32.

• I have 2 kids- a girl and a boy.

• I hate exercise with an intense fiery passion.

• I'm a huge fan of chocolate and pop. We're all tight, like BFF's. ;) I'll be seeing them a lot less now though. Sorry guys.:(

• I do keep track of my calorie intake, but I will not be the person that comes on here everyday to record their food intake.

• I'm in no huge hurry to lose this weight. I'd rather do it slow and steady, and not lose my mind from depriving myself
of the food I love. I'm not the type of person that will go on a diet and eat nothing but salad, veggie sticks, and a bunch of other stuff that I wouldn't normally eat. I KNOW I'm not going to eat like that forever. Eventually I will go
back to eating the food that I love. Sooooo..to me, it's all about having everything in moderation. :)

• My life has had some major ups and downs in the last couple years. I've learned a lot about myself, and what I'm capable of. I'm still not completely happy with some things, but losing weight is one thing that I can change, and I WILL change.

Here's to a great 2012!

How I've been doing....

January: 4 lbs lost...gained it back.
February: 4 lbs lost...gained it back.
March:10 lbs lost :D
April: 6 lbs lost
May: 7 lbs lost
June: 6 lbs lost
July: 2 lbs lost

Well people...I am sitting here looking outside at a TON OF SNOW. We had a blizzard warning last night, and well.....yeah...we got a lot of snow..hahaha. I guess I'll be getting my exercise in the form of shoveling today... YAAAAY! (That was a sarcastic YAY if you couldn't tell :p)

I am replying her mainly to get subscribed. I started lurking this site yesterday, and would find interesting posts, only to find that the poster hasn't been active since '09. You're starting your third year. Way to go. I have been on the Weight Watchers forums for a year, but now have a spreadsheet that I like better than their "e-tools", and got tired of eighteen bucks a month.

I have a different philosophy to weight loss than you do, but yours is interesting.

Hey Ponson! I'm a firm believer in doing what works for each individual person. What works for me, may not work for you, and vice versa. I think it just depends on the person. :) And yeah, 18 bucks a month? I'd be using my own spreadsheet too!..lol. Definitely stick around the forum though. It's a great place, with a great group of people! :) See you around!

PS...my arms are reeeeeeeeeeally sore from shoveling.. lol!

ASo I've been doing pretty good today, food wise. I did have an oatmeal cookie earlier, but it was just one and it was pretty small. So I'm ok with it...lol. I didn't really exercise today. I did run a bunch of errands, which included getting groceries( 3 trips from the car to the house, which includes a bunch of steps), AND I shoveled today, which also included a path to the side of our house.....so I was out there for a bit. I'm not really focused on exercise right now anyway. I need to get my eating back under control. I also need to find the time to exercise. My schedule right now is way out of whack. I feel like I'm constantly running around, because well I am. lol. I'm either running errands or chasing kids or working. That's the extent of my exciting life.... I know...you're jealous!

Oh and I got into quite the heated argument with my mother today...so that was FUN! sigh.

(For those of you that never read it in my old journal.... Here's the back story on the mom thing.... Myself, my two kids, and my mother all live together. It's one of the HUGE stresses in my life. I do not want to live here, but I have no choice. My mother is pretty much disabled. She needs two double knee replacements, which I completely sympathize with her on, she is in a tremendous amount of pain, and she also has no insurance. If I move out, she can't afford to keep her house and will lose it. I won't leave my mom in a bind, but I'm also incredibly unhappy living in a room with my 2 kids. If it were just me and my kids, and she was able to to take care of herself and the house, I would be out of this house in a heartbeat. That's not the case though. So I'm kind of stuck here. Which leads to a lot of stress and fights....like the one we had today. I love her, but she drives me bat shit crazy..hahaha)

ETA: I noticed after I submitted this last post, that it is my 1,000th post.. woohoo! :hurray:

Shoveled snow once in my life, back in '78 on a work detail at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in North Chicago IL. It was enough for a lifetime, thank you.

AToday has not been my day. It's a "go back to bed, and hide under the covers" kind of day. I've had a massive headache all day, and just a little bit ago my vision was screwing up. I probably should of went up to the hospital, but ...eh.......I hate the doctor....so I wussed out. It seems to be getting better though, so I'm just going to relax tonight and take it easy. My kids are gone with their dad tonight, so it's just me, myself, and I for a change. Going to enjoy some much needed alone time. :)

PS... bought some 100 calorie snack packs. Must. resist. eating. the. whole. box. :smilielol5:

Today was not my day either!! Its nice for you to have the evening to yourself, much deserved relaxation should take place.

PS i know what you mean, im always a worry to have a box of snack bars anywhere. I could go through the box within 5mins ha:)

Hope your headache is gone hun xx

Good to see you posting, your style of writing is very engaging and enjoyable. :) And ugh, I know those days... hopefully you're feeling better now though, especially since you can have a quiet one!

I definitely enjoyed my night. There was no screaming, no crying, no kids bouncing off the walls. It was glorious. I also slept really good, which I haven't done in a while. So last night received two thumbs up in my book! yeeeeah! :)

My headache is all gone, thanks Hun! And yes... If there's anything in the house that is too yummy delicious, it manages to find a way into my stomach...reeeeeeeally quick. Funny how that happens..lol. :blush5:

Well boys and girls, tonight I have company coming over, and then I'm looking at a funfilled weekend of sitting at my computer working! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. My work is incredibly boring, and I work from home, so not munching while I work is difficult. Although the shelves are looking mighty bare, so that might not be a problem..lol. Ahhh...yes, "the poor diet." .... It's a FUN and EFFECTIVE!!

AI have the same problem whenever I have really tasty (and bad for you) food in the house, it always manages to find it's way into my belly. It's like magic, that's Juno prefer not to have it laying aroun the house at all.

ASo today.... I got locked inside my house...sorta. The front door would NOT open. I fought with that thing foreeeeever!!! I don't know what the heck was wrong with it, but I ended up mangling it to get it open...lol. Literally. You should see it! I ripped metal apart!!! RAAAAAAWWWRR!!! hahahaha. Yeah I'm like the hulk or something. I don't know....Not really....sigh.. Aaaaaanyway. I have to go the hardware store tomorrow to get a new doorknob...lol.

Another pleasant thing that happened today was my son puking all over the dinner table! That was just lovely .....and appetizing! No dessert for me, Thanks! :smilielol5:

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'll be spending it with my Honey. ;)

AOh my good golly gosh, did we get a lot of snow last night!!! I spent quite a while outside shoveling today. My arms and back are seriously cussing me out right now. Sigh. I hate shoveling. My kids also had a snow day from school too, so it's been an interesting day. Which happens to be Friday the 13th! Beware of men carrying machetes and sporting goalie masks!!! lol! Naaah.... just kidding. So far my luck has been pretty good, so I'm not complaining. :) I've also done great with my food today, so yeeeeah. Good day! :)

ALook at the upside Jen, in a few years your kids will be big enough to do the shoveling themselves, while you are inside with both feet up, drinking margaritas.

Oh, trust me MLB, I dream about that day...lol. I also dream about them doing dishes and laundry.... *dreamy sigh*

I had a pretty good weekend, nothing too exciting happened, but it was a nice relaxed weekend. I'm waiting for my kids to get home, and then we're going to get some dinner and just chill out for the evening...maybe watch a movie. :) Well hopefully...... if they're not bouncing off the walls..lol. *fingers crossed*
