Ok a little update for you all....
Monday is Veteran's Day. And since this is like a big holiday I have no class...well just because I have no class doesn't mean that I will be doing nothing.
On monday afternoon I am going to have my
BoneScan done that I was suppose to have 2 months ago. For those of you that don't know what a bone scan is I will define it for you
I will go in about 1pm and they will inject a special dye into me. This dye is to make my bones glow. The dye takes roughly 3 hours to fully run it's course throughout the body. So I will have to come back in at 4 and then have the scan done. The scan it self takes about an hour.
a bone scan identifies new areas of bone growth or breakdown. It can be done to evaluate damage to the bones, detect cancer that has spread (metastasized) to the bones, and monitor conditions that can affect the bones (including infection and trauma).
Once this is all said and over with I will have to meet with my orthopedic doctor again to find out the results of my scan.
My mom has also determined to have the surgery on my knee to remove the plica tissue before the 1st of the year. (insurance reasons) and I also believe my mom is tired of hearing me complain about the pain all the time.
Me and my mom both believe that after I get the plica tissue removed my life will change.
Ever since I injured my knee back in the 7th grade which was 6-7 years ago it has given me constant problems. And then after I stopped playing basketball or any sports once I got into high school the weight started to pile on.
I have come to the conclusion that my knee has been holding me back. Ever since I got injured I had gained all that weight (plus a few additional life factors) I believe that once my knee is 100% good I will be able to kick my weight issue out the door.
Every time I get active my knee starts to flare up. And when it's not I am afraid to do anything because I think that if I do it will flare up thus bringing me to the point of no exercise.
So hopefully after I have the surgery I will be ready to go.
Well I'm off to bed.
