Jenn's Food and Fitness Journal

So yesterday, I had an awesome day, perfect calorie intake, went to the gym and actually went to the free weights section (big thing for me) before I always stayed in the cardio area, or if pushing it, the weight machines but I had some help yesterday and they showed me some arm excercises using free weights.
I was too intimated before cause it's usually just the guys I see back there, but I actually had a good time.
It just feels soo great to do things the right way, now if I can only remember this on a regular basis lol

Glad you got over your fear. They can be scary. I've used them couple times but I like my machines better. You don't look like an idiot using those unlike the free weights.

Hey everyone,
I'm up early for a saturday and off to the gym again, this time to work on my legs, which really need the help.
My diet is going pretty good although I noticed that the fat intake is higher than I would like so i'm really going to have to start paying attention to that.
Hope you guys have a great day!

my arms feel like complete jello, but in a wierd way its a nice feeling to know that i worked out that hard today, here's my food diary not the best, but not shabby either. (Calories, Carbs, Fat, Protein)

I totally feel your pain!!! I get so freaked out going to the gym alone also. But good for you trying to over come it. I keep telling myself, not to let my concern with others to overwhelm what I need to do for myself. We're all just people reaching for the same goals. Now if only we could make ourselves believe that! lol Keep up the good work, soon it won't be a thought!:D

A picture really is worth a 1,000 words

so yesterday, I went water skiing, which means bathing suit time. Boy am I really glad someone used my camera to take pictures, I needed that kick in the butt.
I got home, saw the pics and was like woooow, I need to keep up what I'm doing.
I was serious about it before, but now i'm REALLY serious about it. Gym people are going to start knowing me by name real soon lol

I was suppose to go to the gym yesterday, but after pushing it too hard on Saturday and then water skiing all day sunday my entire body felt like jelly.
So I'll do legs and cardio tonight.
Have a great day everyone!

So everything is going pretty good today, I managed to avoid the cookies right outside of my office so far today, go me! lol
Does anyone know if sushi rolls are good? I know the fish is, but what about something like a philly roll?
Thats what I had for lunch today, that and edamame yumm.
anyways, hope everyone is have a great day!

Philly rolls are delicious - only thing is (if it's like the one I get) there's cream cheese and sweet white rice. Other than that the other ingredients are the best I think, particularly the salmon.

NY thanks for the appreciation ;)
Now for today's post: I had an eh day, breakfast was great, whole grain cereal, however lunch was a different story. It was party time at work so we had pizza for lunch I had two slices. (I swear if I could quit my job, I think I'd lose 10lbs since there would no longer be pizza parties lol)
For dinner I had a string cheese and egg whites, trying not to over do it.

Last night at the gym, I worked really hard, 6 different leg weight training exercises so we're all lucky I'm walking today ;)
I'm going back for more torture on my arms tonite, my goal is feel like an old perosn in the morning.
Hope all is well with everyone ;)

Gotta love those pizza parties...2 slices aren't gonna hurt you. Take it as a cheat meal. All is well over here. Have fun at the gym.

Sleep

I keep reading all of these articles about getting 7-8 hrs of sleep or else you will have a rough time losing weight, I've been trying to get 7 but I just have such a hard time winding down at night, does anyone else have this problem?
If you do, what are you doing for it?
I'm a typical chick, my brain is going from 90-200mph and when my head hits the pillow I can't make it stop.
I swear, I really do think guys have some switch in their head, like a literal "thinking cap" that you can turn off to go to sleep. It's amazing how fast they crash!

Body for life,
I'm thinking about buying the book, does anyone have it or find it helpful?
