Jenn's Diary

Well, February is finally here. Ground Hog Day tomorrow. Let's hope he brings nice, warm news!

I think my plans for taking my son skiing this weekend are in the process of getting scraped! They're calling for highs of -15, lows of -26 this weekend. If it's not too bad on Saturday, I'll still try to get him out skating. The outdoor rink isn't as far and is free, so if we get there and he's too cold it won't be a big deal. Didn't workout last night, and couldn't drag my ass out of bed this morning to workout. Not a good start to Feb. My butt is still sore from my workout the other night, and I'm feeling it more in my abs today. So that's good. I worked something.

Obviously didn't hit 170 by today. Hanging in at 174. Will need to lose 14lbs in Feb, to meet my original goal. Feb's a short month, so it'll be hard. But I will try. It will just be nice to get into the 160s again. I haven't seen those numbers on my scale in 4yrs! It's time to get re-acquainted.

My husband and I were talking babies again last night. We have so much to do, before we can bring another person into our little house. However, we have narrowed it down to starting Sept 07 or 08. That means our son will be about 4 or 5, when he have the new baby. That is definitely something to aim for. I would love to have lost all the weight before getting pregnant. I don't want to be 185lbs, like I was the first time. Especially since I gained 60! And I hope to God I don't gain 60 again. I did lose all the weight within a 1.5 of my son being born, but it was hard.

Breakfast: same - 3pts;
Lunch - tuna - 2pts;
Supper - don't know. Maybe chicken. Ohhhh, grilled chicken caesar salad ***drools***. Hubby and son might not go for it... they can have something else. If I do the GCCS, I'll definitely stay in range today. Probably under my points. Sometimes I wonder if that is a good thing or not. I think the idea of counting points is to not starve yourself, but to help you make healthy choices while staying satisfied. But if I'm happy full and well under my range, I don't see any problem with that.

Till tomorrow my friends!!;)

The baby talk brings a tear to my eye... Haha. I'm jealous of moms! (But not moms my own age...) I think I'll be a great mom, but it'll probably be another 7-8 years before I get to be one. I'll be 30 then.

Congrats on doing so well with your WW points. 11 lbs in one month? I couldn't even dream of accomplishing that!

Thanks 2phat! I know what you mean by your 2 yr old jumping on ya. My youngest is 2 and every time I lay on the floor to do my crunches he thinks that it is the perfect time to jump and lay on my belly! LOL My oldest son is 7 and he really likes doing the walking dvd's with me so I think that he would like the yoga one.

Thank-you on the congrats with the weight loss. Hope to be able to keep it up. As for the baby...... Almost brings a tear to my eye. Only for the reasons that: another mouth to feed, more stretch marks, if I have to have another C-section............................. But it is soooo worth it. My son is in the "Let's question everything stage". When we're sitting down for supper at night, he always asks who the empty seat belongs to. My husband keeps telling him it will be for his brother or sister some day. Then we proceed to ask whether he would like a brother or a sister. Apparently he wants both. Sorry about your luck, but it one or the other - God willing. Twins run in my family.

Looking forward to the weekend. It's going to get cold, but it least I won't be at work. Skating and skiing are still up in the air, as teh temp is dropping. Will for sure try the skating tomorrow, and am hoping to ski on Sunday. But if it's too cold, I'm not pushing it.

Planning on behaving this weekend. Making wise choices, keeping busy/active, drink lots of water. I promise I will start to exercise again. My butt isn't as sore from the last workout, so it's time to get back to it.

Breakfast: maple/brown sugar oatmeal, black coffee - 3pts;
Lunch: All Bran bar - 2pts;
Supper: story of my life........ undecided.

If anyone has some great suggestions on increasing my fibre intake.....please share. Seem to be having a problem lately. *blush*

Have a great weekend. And if you like football, enjoy the Super Bowl!

The All-Bran bars are an excellent source of fibre, so it's a little odd that you're having "problems". lol But you have to make sure you're drinking a LOT of water when you increase your fibre intake. Do you like beans? Adding any kind of bean to your diet might help. I buy canned "six-bean blend" things at the grocery store and make bean salads (add feta cheese, tomato, onion and a light vinaigrette).

Not a bad weekend. Was hit with the usual Monday gain. I got down to 173 on Saturday and Sunday. When I stepped on the scale this morning I was about 176 - up 3! Eeek! After I had my shower I stepped on again and was 174. So okay, only up 1. Will flush it away by tomorrow, I hope.

Thanks for the help Sunny. Not a huge bean fan, especially as a salad. I did get some more fibre first ceral and combined it with wheat bran. So I've been having 1/2c of fibre first cereal, which is 13g of fibre and 1/4c of wheat bran, which is 6.5g of fibre. So now my breakfast consists of 19.5g of fibre. Prehaps I'm bring new meaning to the term "holy shit!". It certaining has helped. Looking back on my water intake last week at work I wasn't doing so well. But by the end of the week and over the weekend I was getting plenty. I'm hoping to hit 170 by the end of the week. Although TOM is coming. I was border line 172 on Sunday, so it could be done. We'll see.

I'm angry at myself though, because I haven't been exercising at all. The weather has been too cold and miserable to go walking, I don't have time at night, and I can't drag my lazy ass out of bed in the morning. I need to work/focus on this issue this week. Even if I don't hit 170, I am aiming to work out at least 3x by Friday. This is my personal challenge for the week. ***thought to self - check for exercise challenges, me thinks me've seen one***.

Made it though Super Bowl, with going nuts on the food. We had chicken wings and popcorn, but went a little overboard with the french fries. Didn't gorge on them, but did go a little over my points. Funny thing is I always had trouble getting enough points in a day, when I was in the 22-27pt range. Now (which I discovered on Saturday) I'm in the 20-25pts range for food, and for some reason am struggling to stay within the daily points range, and not go over. Could have just been that it was a weekend thing. Let's hope.

Anyhow - new week, new weight, new goal.

Breakfast: fibre first cereal (.5c), wheat bran (.25c), 2% milk (.5c), black coffee - 3.5pts;
Lunch - tuna and hot chocolate - 4pts;
Supper - vension sausage...............That's as far as we've gotten. Probably have noodles and corn with it. If we stick with that menu, it should bring the points for dinner in around 15pts. That would bring the pts for the day in around 22.5. Okay.
22.5pts! Wait, where did my room to snack go? Sacrifices. Crap! I guess I will really need to focus on a good supper menu, in order to leave room on my plan to have treat inthe evening.

WAIT!!! Edit lunch - substituting hot chocolate with green tea (0pts). New total for today - 20.5. This is better.

TTFN!! :D

Hi Jenn!!
I know how you feel about the too cold for exercising. Ok so that's just a convenient excuse for me - I *could* be lifting weights and doing tapes. But the just isn't as fun as a good 2 mile walk.

Have a great day!! :D:D

Down 2lbs! Yipee! :D

It feels so good when you step on the scale in the morning, and everything is moving in the right direction! Yesterday's points challenge turned out alright. I managed to count 24.5 by the ned of the day. I chose an orange for dessert and to curb my chocoalte craving in the evening I had a hot chocolate. I managed to get in 3c of green tea yesterday, and 200 sit-ups. Going for 220 sit-ups tonight.

Thanks to Mal, I was directed to coolrunning.com, where it gives you pointers on how to start into running. Running weather is along time away around here, but by the time is comes around I'll be ready. Found some new challenges yesterday - joined the fitness challenge and the February challenge. I'm sure they will be beneficial.

Hoping to hit 170 by Friday. I think I've been saying that for a while now, so here's to positive thinking.

Breakfast: fibre first cereal (.5c), wheat bran (.25c), 2% milk (.5c), black coffee - 3pts;
Lunch - Gardenay Broccoli Soup (1 carton) - 2pts;
Supper - I've got my husband working on moose burgers. I can't how many points they worked out to, but if I have to I just won't add the hamburger bun. Moose is so yummy and lean, the points are minimal.

TTFN - have a great day!

Woo Hoo - Congratulations on kicking those two pounds!

And Moose Burgers hmmm?
I haven't tried those!

Great day yesterday. Stayed within points range, did 220 sit-ups (including 25 reverse curls with my son sitting on my shins - he's 34lbs), 20 wall push-ups, and the bellydancing pilates dvd. Was going to set the VCR for the morning and do the Crunch Killer Legs tape, but the VCR decided it was hungry and ate the tape. Tried to get up this morning to workout. No such luck. Now that winter is actually here, in full force, I seem to prefer to stay in my nice warm bed.

Unfortunately, no loss this morning. Makes the day brighter, when I see the scale go down. I know I shouldn't except to see it go down everyday. I just want to see the 160s sooooooo badly!

Tonight I will do 240 sit-up, 40 wall push-ups, and maybe some leg lifts.

Should stay in points range today. Here's the menu:
Breakfast: same - 3.5pts;
Lunch: tuna - 2pts;
Supper: chicken breast w salsa and cheese on rice, with taco seasoning (basically chicken fagita without the wrap) - 9pts;
Snack: orange, yogurt, green tea - 2pts.
If I can stick to this menu, that will be 16.5pts for the day. I don't think it will be a problem. It will even leave me room for extra, but I hope it doesn't come to that.

TTFN - have a great day! :D

220-240 crunches in one day...WOW...I am a wimp and only do 30-60 crunches a day, good job. I just started doing pilates and I can't believe how much it works the muscles! Keep up the great work!

great exercise :) especially for using your son lol, its great playtime for him. congratulations on losing another 2 :)

I find it easier to do more sit-ups, when you try varies types. I generally do 25 - 50 of one particular kind before moving on to a new set.

I love pilates. I use to do it before I got pregnant and I tried to do it a 4mths after having my son. But with the C-section, I just felt I was pushing too soon, and eventually stopped altogether. I want to get back into it but it's just a matter of finding the time. Just like with the Yoga, he starts jumping all over me when I'm on the floor and thinks it's playtime.
