Jennifuffa's Journal

research

Definitely do some research, and maybe talk to your doc about what calorie range you should shoot for to lose weight but also maintain milk production.

FYI - I use www.calorieking.com for most of my food look-ups. They have all kinds of foods, from fast food to veggies and everything in between! I also use websites from the fast food places or restaurants where we eat - if they have the nutrition info available online. If you are already logging your food for W.W., you could just look up what you ate at the end of the day and see how it adds up for a week or two. That would give you a good idea of how many calories you are eating now. Just remember to measure and log everything so you get a true count. :)

Hey girl! Just stopping in to check on ya! Don't dwell too much on this past week. Just put it behind you and keep going. :D (I'm trying to tell myself the same thing. )

Hey, jenn! Just stopping by to say "hi." We all have bad days ... weeks ... months ... whatever. The important thing is that we pull ourselves up by the bootstraps and forge ahead. My day today is not going as well as I'd planned, but that's OK because tomorrow will be better. I'm doing the Weight Watcher's points too. I haven't actually belonged for a couple of years now, and when I did, I lost about 20 pounds (but have since gained it all back and then some). I don't have the money right now to join again, so I've just been doing it on my own since I have all the materials from before. It's really the only plan that has ever worked for me without thinking that I'm depriving myself of food. Well, anyway, hang in there! You're doing great and will continue to do great! I have confidence in you! Have a super weekend! :)

I'm thinking about switching from Weight Watchers to calorie counting. The only problem is it's been so long since I calorie counted that I don't know the values of foods that don't come with a label, nor do I know how many calories I should be taking in. I would imaginge there is a website somewherer. I know I need about 300-500 more calories each day to keep my milk production up but other than that I'm not sure what my caloric intake should be at this point. It's been years. Uggg.

Hi jennifuffa,
I can't count calories or fat or sodium or carbs if my life depended on it. That's why I use FitDay at

It's free and pretty easy, and I like that I can set custom goals for myself, such as a minimum amounts of fiber, protein and water, and maximum amounts of sodium, fat and calories.

Also I found this site with nutritional requirements for nursing moms trying to lose weight

Hope this helps!

I'm Back. Back in the Weight Loss Grove.

Twinmom

Thank you so much. I checked out the sites. The model thingy was kinda neat. I played with it for a bit. The caloried one seemed pretty helpful as well. I still haven't decided about the calorie counting yet or not.

Hypo

You know I know that I shouldn't dwell on the past and telling myself just doesn't always seem to work. For some reason hearing it from another person who is in the same place as me seems to help.

Dgillygal

I to find that weight watchers is the only thing that works for me. I also don't actually go but I follow the program because I also have all of the stuff to get me through the program. I just have the hardest time following the program. When it works it really works.

Nite Owl

Thanks for the website info. I am going to check them out as soon as I am finished here. Thank so much

Reflection

Well my house guest is safely on her way home and I can get things back to normal. Why is it that you over eat and under exercise when you have house guests or are on vacation?

Oh boy I'm worried about stepping on the scale tomorrow morning. I know that delicate pound I lost has crept back onto my butt with a couple of friends.

I will post the results tomorow.

What I liked about this week

I visited with a close friend and really enjoyed myself.

What I could have changed about this week?

I stayed up too late, ate too much, didn't exercise very much

How am I going to change?

I am starting fresh on monday. Ha ha if I had a dollar everytime I said that, I'd be a millionaire. But I am saying it again. I haven't yet decided about what plan I am going to follow yet WW or Cal Counting.

Wow, you are doing so well, just trying to tackle this AND breast-feed  !!!
I'm sooooo NOT whining anymore! Keep doing what you need to do. :D

You can do it!!! :D :D :D

Hey Jennifuffa~

Doing AWESOME!!!!! Today is your day to get on track and you will:D Don't worry about how many times you say it as long as you DO IT!!!:p I know what you mean about getting off track when it comes to visitors. But it's over now and you are still going.

Another website to go on about calories is I love that website. It counts calories, how many fats, cholesteral, protien you had, you can put in your own labels of food, tracks your exercise, helps with your goals, another forum, etc.... It's a great site and free:D

Have a GREAT DAy and don't forget your WATER!!!!!!

Hi, Jenn! Just checking in to say "hi" and hoping that your Monday is starting out like you want it to. Keep those positive thoughts, girl! You can do this no matter which plan you follow! Keep up the great work!

Hey there- As long as you promise to always start fresh on Monday, you're still on the right track. Starting fresh every Monday is better than giving up altogether, right? You're doing great and I'm sure you'll get right back on track.

monday

Glad you had a nice visit and that you are ready to hit the bricks this week! You can do some weight lifting with the baby today! :D

You can do this girlfriend I know you can i believe in you!!!!!!!!!!

don't worry Jenn. It actually takes ALOT of calories to gain back an extra pound. One pound of fat is 3500 EXTRA calories ontop of your normal amount that ur body needs to function and maintain urself. That's ALOT of calories. So a splurge here and there shouldn't be THAT bad. Give yourself a break. Just remember to drink your water, do a few more reps/sets/crunches or whatever exercise you do next time you're exercising, and you should be fine.

:)

Tomorrow is another day

From one of your posts about a week ago. For obvious reasons I guess you could say that this is my motto. But it's so true. When you wake up the next morning you always get another chance to have a good day.

I just got back from vacation so I totally understand how hard it is to stick to a routine when you're either away or have company. But we can get back on the bandwagon together if you'd like.

Yep, I know you know but it doesn't hurt hitting you over the head with it! Lol! ;) Where is that weigh in update or did I miss it? :)

Hi All

Well I guess I am back now. Have you checked out my ticker. I've now lost 17lbs. It sure makes a difference when you drink all of your water and follow points and calories. That is what I decided to do. I found that I am more aware of what I am eating again.

Thanks for your support guys. I really look forward to your responses in my journals. I try to respond to everyones as well because I know that you guys are here for the same reasons that I am here.

It's nice to get reminders, support, kicks in the butt and math lessons(twinmom) on a daily basis.

I can feel that my mind set is starting to change again I just got to figure out how to hold onto that.

Anyway I am going camping this weekend but I am not going to go crazy with camp snack foods. You know chips, treats and over indulging in barley pops.

I will be back on monday with hopefully more news about the weigh loss.

Woo hoo!!!

You deserve a WOO HOO today!

Okay, you asked for it... You have lost 12.6 percent of the weight you need to lose to reach your goal. That's more than 1/8 of the journey behind you! AND you have lost 6% of your total body weight! GO BABY!!!!!!!!!

P.S. - I really like those Lay's Light potato chips if you have them there. They are less than half the calories of regular chips and no fat! Good alternative to take along on the camping trip.

WTG on the 17 lbs!! That is terrific :D

Enjoy camping, snacking on fruit is great while camping - I can't help you with the barley refreshment, it's a downfall of my own ;)

I have to say I have never had the barley thing...fill me in. Jenn, 17lbs!!! You should be SOOO proud of yourself!! What an amazing accomplishment! Doing a happy dance *shake, shake* and cheering for you..."Can I get a WOOHOO?.... WOOHOO!!!!!"
