Hello everyone.
Up until today, I had been using my before and after picture thread as sort of a diary, but I am finally ready to start a real weight loss diary.
I'll try and update every Monday, but if things are a little crazy, I may just have to wait until the next day.
I don't expect to have a whole lot of readers or anything, but just knowing that I have to update is going to make this thing easier for me, I believe.
Anyway, I suppose I should say a bit about myself.
My name is Jean, and I'm seventeen years old.
I've been on my weight loss journey since January 2008... that's when I weighed nearly 210 pounds.
I started seeing a dietitian, and in only two months, I lost a little over 30 pounds.
However, money started getting tight, and I had to stop seeing my doctor.
After the visits stopped, I went back to my old ways, and was eating a lot of fatty foods.
Surprisingly, I didn't gain anything back. I went back and forth between 174-178, which is what I weighed in at my last visit with the doctor.
After weighing in the 170s for a while, I decided that I still wasn't happy with my weight, and I needed to do something about it... now.
On July 19th 2008, I started counting my calories, I knew that I had to be on a diet, but without any guidance, it was going to be difficult.
I tried eating what I had been on the doctor's diet, but when I added everything up, I was eating less than 600 calories a day!
Without the medications that I was on, I knew I couldn't keep eating like that.
I now eat around 1,300 calories a day, and with my current activity level, I should lose 1 pound a week.
I'm not going to be getting much exercise for the next month, unfortunately.
My boyfriend's mother just had surgery, and she's not going to be able to do anything for about a month.
For that month, I have to stay with her and make sure that she's alright.
That means I will have no time for exercise, or anything else, really.
I have no problem staying with her, but I'm just not going to be able to exercise like I want.
Anyway, I've gone on for long enough.
Tomorrow is a Monday, too! I'll be updating in the morning.

YOU'LL HAVE TO EXERCISE!!! Try at sunrise or sunset though, so it's a bit cooler. If you can build up to 20 mins that's enough. Try 4 sets of 5 mins or 2 sets of 10 mins... depending what you can do.
