Jay's Diary

2.5 years off and Im back to where I started... argh... I will try to be more consistent this time... Needless to say I got up to 241... 1lb more then my previous max... I started running again.... Man I need to get back in shape... I have been running for about a week. Once again, I decide to employ the Master Cleanse Diet to kick things of.... At this point, I am on Day 4 of the Diet. I have not followed it as closely as i should have. I didnt drink enough day 1 or 2... I was better on Day 3... and I plan to follow pretty closely the plan for here on out. I ran for the first time since i started the diet yesterday. I only ran 2 miles.. which i have been averaging just under 4.

I am toying with the idea of doing p90x and seeing what happens with that... Im back on track... will try to keep this updated more frequently....

I was feeling quite lazy after work... I was able to finally motivate myself to go to the gym. The only problem was that my knee wasnt feeling right which made it difficult to jog/run. So instead, I walked at a speed between 3.5 and 3.9 at an incline between 9.0 and 15... I worked up quite a sweat during the 35 minutes that I did it. Im glad I was still able to get an effective cardio session in.

After a very hard 2012, I am back... No new years resolutions for me... just a plan to get back in shape... for football and for me. I was up to 243 lbs which is my heaviest ive ever been. And it was uncomfortable. There were things that were easy for me to do before that have just gotten that much harder. That being said... Its GO time. And what better way to get things kicked off with then doing the INSANITY workout. In my head I knocked it up until I tried it. I thought 60 40 minutes sessions... NO PROBLEM. Holy Moly... When I tell you that this thing is insane, it is! I cant keep up with it yet.. Though I strive to be able to by the end. I am on Day 5 and I already feel some improvements. I have a love/hate relationship with the videos. I will keep this updated with my progress....

Welcome back!

I looked into that insanity thing too, but I decided that right now, it's a little too extreme for me. Let us know how it works for you, okay?

The Insanity workout has been nothing short of insane. But every day that I do it, it gets a litte bit easier. I just completed day 6. I already feel a difference as far as my cardiovascular system goes. I still cant keep up, but my goal is to be able to keep up by the end of the first month, if not sooner. Im not sure how much of this is water weight vs actual weight, but I am down 7 lbs since the start. I am however, eating a lot more healthily at the moment and have somewhat reduced my calorie intake, so all that added together contributes to the loss. Right now I feel pretty good.... parts of my body are tired, but overall im not. The first couple days however, I was totally spent after the work outs... Ill keep this updated on my progress.

On a side note: I also got a nike fuel band, in order to help motivate me. So far I like it and think its a pretty good idea.

A day off was a welcome change... Though I did do a brisk 2 mile walk. The INSANITY begins again tomorrow..... Im ready....

So... I thought I was ready....

Today I wasnt sucking wind as hard per so (dont get me wrong.. I was sucking wind) so Stamina wise, I think I could have made it through the whole thing or at least most of it. The problem was... my muscle, particularly my leg muscles were soo fatigued... it made it that much harder to complete the session... but I pressed on as much as I was able....

So the last time I started Insanity, I wound up going away for a week about 2 weeks in. that kinda killed it... and I fell back into my bad habits. I hope that this time around I can be a little more dedicated, focused, and consistent. I am on Day 12 of Insanity again... I am slowly starting to see results. At least in my stamina, which is slowly getting better. I am interested to see how I do with the fit test which is given every 2 weeks....

I have continued with my workouts... I am currently on Day 40... I am excited to see what I will look like when it is over. The only thing that concerns me... is that I am going on a 10 day vacation... in 8 days... I hope that I can continue this during my vacation... which happens to be a cruise. Thus far, I have lost 10-12 pounds and about 3 inches off of my waist. I definitely recommend this program, but I would suggest that you do it with a partner. It is a lot easier when you have someone else doing it with you. Just them being there is a motivational factor. I havent followed the nutritional plan provided, but I am tracking everything I eat in an app called Lose it... which I think helps me stay on course as far as eating in a more healthy manner.

I am now technically on day 60... woohoo... However, the program is actually 63 days and I did go on vacation for 10 days... I worked out 6 out of 10 days while i was on vacation (which included a cruise) I didn't skip any days so from start to now has been about 70 days or so. I plan on adding an extra 5 days or so to compensate for the time missed.
I also started to workout using weights a few days ago. I am very sore at the moment but look forward to further improvements...

a few months back I was 250lbs, I am now just under 220.... My Goal for now, is to get down to 205... or 12% body fat at the moment, I believe I am hovering around 18%....
