Woohoo! I'm here! :)

Ok, so I'm starting over again. My heighest weight being 224.6. I've started exercising and I love that. I find that going to classes (bodystep, bodypump etc..) gives me a better work out than on my own. Plus I have a few gym friends now so they tend to make me feel guilty when I don't show up lol.

Over the past two months I've been counting calories, but have decided to give myself a break from that as it is stressing me out. I think I'm gonna relax a bit (i know the nutritional info and where to find it if i don't) and keep exercising and see what happens. i figure if I make healthy choices and eat good portions I should be fine. maybe the break will help the scale start to move downwards becasue I won't be so stressed. Afterall this is the beginning of my journey and if i focus on healthy choices, getting in my water, and exercising I will see results.

Thanks for such a warm welcome!

When I first started, I went nearly 4 weeks without seeing any scale movement. Very unmotivating. :p But I hung in there, and eventually the scale caught up. So I know you can, too!

Hi Jaxxy

Nice to see you have a journal now.

I find it so much easier to lose weight when I balance my diet and eat sensibly without counting calories. I get less caught up in whether I have broken the diet or not which makes me not feel nearly so deprived.

I have lost a lot of weight this year and the only times that I have counted calories were the two weeks of the challenge that made it mandatory. I hated it - and everyone knew that I hated it.

I am convinced that eating healthily but not excessively, drinking plenty water and exercising will bring you the results that you are looking for.

I try to do some exercise every day. I walk a lot. Then I can tell myself "today has been a good day - I have done some exercise". If I do some exercise in the morning - I know that I am having a good day from that point on. Whatever I eat - I know that I am having a good day.

Take care

Thanks Ally and Margaret!

Yep I've decided that it is easier as well if I just eat sensibly. i still have to force myself to eat every couple of hours in order to get enough in for the day, but other than that I'm gonna give this a go and see what happens!

You have to remember that your body changes from the inside out first. It takes time. Some people see a weight loss in the beginning and some do not. DO NOT get discouraged. You are changing. You did not get this way overnight. I know having patients is the hardest thing.

Look at it like this. I was once told this by a personal trainer I had 4 years ago. It is called the paper towel theory. I have 183 days to my goal date. So we will use that number.

You have a roll of paper towels that has 183 sheets on it. Each day you remove one sheet of the paper towels. At first you do not see any change but over time you see that the roll becomes slender until your down to the "core". Your body is the same way. It is changing - you might see it yet but it is changing. Hang in there.

Hi Jaxxy

How are things going now?

If you do enough exercise you can have quite a lot of healthy food and still lose weight. I eat tons of healthy food - every day. I post it all in my diary. I would have never thought that I could eat as much as that and still lose weight.

Are you managing to get your protein ok?
I was really concerned at first because I really hate messing around with my food - but I neednt have worried. It turns out that I naturally have a really high protein diet. I always have so much extra protein it is silly during the day. Yesterday I was 22g over the top.

Isnt it really great that our team are in the lead?

Take care
