So I have decided to make a journal about my daily struggle to loose weight. I do not yet have a scale to weight myself, but that’s on the way and as soon as I get that I will start with posting my updates on the weight front. This journal is just going to be my struggles with exercising and food for now..

Starting out today… March 16th 2009.

Woke up: 9:00am

Breakfast: Some toaster strudel things (Calories: 360) nothing to drink.. I was late for class.(I wont eat these anymore.. I did not realize they had so many calories.)

Lunch: Burrito, Chips and cheese and a diet pop.(475)

Dinner: Sandwich, chips, and diet pop. (530)

Snack: Air popped popcorn, Butter, and cheese sprinkled stuff. (216)

Total: 1581

Bed: Probably 12am or 1...

I have looked up calorie intake and it says that I need to eat 2000 calories a day.. I will probably say under..

I have diabetes so I have to maintain my calorie intake and food.. I did not get to exercise because I was quite busy But I will start that tomorrow. I wont be able to update this every day.. Probably once or twice a week but I will be keeping a daily food intake journal everyday.. To keep count of my calories.
 
March 17th

Breakfast- Banana- (90)

Lunch-Ravioli(Mini) Chips (551)

Dinner- Pasta dinner thing/chips (650)

Total-1261

March 18th..

Breakfast-Banana (90)

Lunch- Meat/Sour cream/ Taco shell Soft/ Chips/cheese (506)

Dinner- Taco Bell (690)

Total-1286

I have not gotten around to exercising quite yet.. I have been so busy with school each day.. I will probably start tomorrow(Friday). then Make myself do it everyday.
 
Hey there. Looks like you're doing pretty good getting started. I know how hard it is to incorporate working out into the day and I really hope you find time to start doing that.

The amount of calories you're taking in looks great. 1200-1500 is a very common goal that works really well, imo. But the foods you're eating don't seem healthy at all. There seems to be a lot of carbs and grease in the foods that you're eating. But really, you are doing really good. I look forward to seeing how your progress goes.
 
Yeah.. The types of food are not great.. but when I don't buy the food I cant complain.. I'm going to college right now with no job and live at home with my parents.. (The best option for me right now).. I have talked to them about buying healthier food.. but I only just started this health kick that I am on at the moment and they have not gone grocery shopping yet.. I plan on trying to get them to buy more fruits and vegges since we all need to loose weight..(My family that is)

With the exercising I plan on starting out either tomorrow or Friday(I have Friday's off of school) and then hopefully going everyday between 10-20 mins or so to start out with.. Hopefully the weather warms up a bit so i can get out and walk.. My father and I are going to bring out the treadmill tomorrow so we all can start walking on that.. We don't have a scale at the moment either so when we get that I can start weighing in everyday.. or week...

anyway thank you for your post.. Everything helps and it makes me smile to know that other people out there care and want to help me.. It makes me want to do this more and loose the weight.
 
OMG! I know how it is when you start eating right but the grocery shopping hasn't been done yet. The foods are all wrong at the house, lol. I totally understand that. Hopefully they're down to buy more healthy foods. It helps a lot when your parents want to really help you lose weight. My mom is always down for healthy foods and working out which helps a lot. It's great that you guys are getting out the treadmill. Walking and jogging work wonders.

Also, I'm not sure if you're drinking water or not but if there was one tip I'd ever give it would be to drink water and lots of it. Water flushes out the system of the nasty stuff and gets the weight off a lot easier. I aim for 64oz. of water a day which 8 glasses. It seems to be just enough. Not only does it flush everything out but it keeps you filled up too. If you're really starving and you don't know what to do, have some water. It's great. Lol you can probably tell I jock water. =P

Breakfast- None(to busy with class)
Lunch- ravioli again
Dinner- Goulash(sp?)

Total- 630

March 20th Friday we always go out to dinner..

Breakfast- Banana
Lunch- grilled cheese
Dinner- Burger king (ouch that hurt me..I have to remember to get less fating foods when we go out to dinner.)

Total- 1890

march 21st

Breakfast (None no accuse this time)
Lunch- (I was at a baby shower so and we had like sides It was weird)
Dinner-subway

Total-1119

My High school teacher(I'm in college now) passed away a couple days ago so i have been a bit of an emotional wreak.. IDk.. I did do some sit ups and I walked out side each day.. (IT's getting warmer.) and I'm gonig to walk outside tomorrow..
 
YAY.. lost a pound already.. lol

I walked for 25 minuets yesterday with my mom.. Took my dog adn she was more tired then i was... But she's old so i give her that excuse.. lol

We finally went shopping for better food the other day..

March 22nd

Breakfast- none

Lunch- Tortilla with turkey and low fat ranch.. It was really good.. and chips..

Dinner- Salad, Watermelon, carrots , celery, and low fat southwestern ranch dip.

March 23rd

Breakfast- Banana/ Breakfast bar

Lunch- Tortilla with Turkey and Low fat ranch and chips

Dinner-Kielbasa with french fries and Macaroni and Cheese.

Total- 1462

and for exercise I went for 10 minuets on the treadmill.
