I have officially made the world's BEST beef jerkey...

The marinade was half raspberry vinegarette, and half this pork marinade (had sungrass and peppers in it), and I dumped black pepper in as well... then I crusted the beef in black pepper before putting it on the drying rack...

It's slightly sweet, slightly spicy, but it is the best jerkey I've ever had, hands down...

I'll post exactly what I used when I find the bottles (threw 'em out), 'cause I don't want to lose this mix...

I have never tried beef jerky in my life. I once tried caribou jerky and that was pretty good. The thought of dried, tough meat kinda turns me off, but you make it sound delicious.
 
there is some grissly, nasty jerkey out there... but jerkey done right is a gift from god to your tongue

The bag of jerkey is already all gone. Usually, it would last at least 4-5 days. Nope... 1.5 days...

I'm making another big batch tonight... so delicious...

So, I have been a little hesitant to talk about it, but you guys are always so supportive, I guess it is good to get it out there.

Injuries bum the shit out of me. I get pretty depressed when I can't get out and do everything that I should be able to. When I hurt my hammy, I went off all semblance of a controlled diet for my cut, and started eating the shittiest crap with zero portion control.

I am hopping BACK on the wagon today, after a little over a week of binging. I was able to bike for 10 light minutes of biking today, as a warmup to an easy pull day (should be a pull/legs day, but no legs lifting for awhile now). I still catch occasional twinges, and it is still tight as shit and fussy, but it is functional (at least in super moderate use). I am still not going to do any real cardio with it, but I am going to carefully resume lifting, and controlling my diet again, and get back to a state of mind where I am in charge and happy.

I totally feel your pain on that -I get frustrated and really really annoying :)

but bubba, you can only do what you can do at the current time.. give yourself a break and think happy thoughts :) or at least really dirty ones... :)

Take care of yourself and do not overdo it.
 
Great going James! :) Good to hear you're back on the wagon, as it were.

I totally feel where you're coming from. It really sucks to want to do something and to be physically unable to do it. But if you give it time and avoid reinjury, you'll be back on the fast track in no time!

Seriously, though, it seems like you're on the right track. I kinda know how you feel b/c this cold is dragging me down. I rarely get sick. I've got an iron stomach and a great constitution. So when I do get sick, it irritates the hell out of me that I'm not 100%.

If I lived closer, I'd come over and give your beef a jerky--and then I'd eat some of your jerkied beef. :smilielol5::smilielol5:
