Jaclyn's NEW Diary

Looks like your kicking butt hun. Can you believe how long we have been coming to this forum for, I love it and I honestly don’t think you could get this kind of support anywhere else.

I totally agree Rosered, this forum is definitely the key to my success. I never would have stuck with it without you, Korrie, Angela, Katie, and a few other girls who are MIA, like Christina and Jennifer. And now we have some great newbies. It's very exciting. Today is another good day. I walked around the lake at lunch and my food has been superb. I am incredibly stressed about school starting though. Ugh!

hey there! so i have to ask. . . . .how does veggie salami taste?! because i ADORE the taste of salami, but never eat it because of the fat! if i could get into veggie salami (provided the cals are good), i would be so happy!!!!

congrats on the diet, girl. you rule! :)

Good for you for getting out and walking! I walked yesterday and it had been awhile. Man, did I sleep well last night!
Good luck with classes. How much longer do you have? (I know you've told me before, but my memory isn't always the best!)
Totallyscrappy

Foods looking great and go you for walking at lunch :) !!!! Keep itup
I know how you feel about school starting again - I start back up on the 17th and just stressed about it . Its gonna be a killer semester and I just know how hard it's going to be. But we can do it - we can get through it !!!!!!!
Have a great rest of your day at work!

Angela, I can't believe you were in Melbourne! I like the beach there. It isn't far from me at all! I love the Kashi waffles!

Heather, I'm a big fan of the veggie salami, but I've been a vegetarian for about ten years, so I may not be the best judge of character. However, if memory serves me correctly, it does taste like salami, just not as salty. I'm a huge fan and four slices is 90 calories, which is fantastic! The brand is Yves The Good Deli. They sell it in Publix and the Whole Foods Market for sure. Look in the produce section.

Oh man Totallyscrappy, the walking does a body good. I supposedly have a year left of school. I SHOULD be able to graduate in December of this year, but it will depend on if I can get certain classes this semester, which at this time I can't because my student account is on a hold due to that stupid math test.

I feel strange today. Very tired. Could be because I started my period, but I think it's more than that. Probably stress. This school thing is really getting to me. They make it impossible to graduate.

I was up at 6:30 this morning to be at a meeting at work, and then I worked until 5:30. I just lay on the couch when I got home, made some dinner, and I'm going to lay down some more. Here's food-

Breakfast:
Slim Fast Granola Bar (220)
Cup of blueberries, raspberries, and black berries (40)
Orange Juice (50)

Snack:
Light fat free boston creme pie yogurt (110)

Lunch:
1 slice of pizza (250--come on! You guys know how I feel about pizza)
Side salad with balsamic (150)

Dinner:
Falafel (400)

Dessert:
WW Fudge Cake (150)

Time for LOST! I'm obsessed.

You are doing really good! Aside from the pizza :)p /jk), you make really good food choices. About the Kashi waffles - do they taste similar to regular waffles?

Haha Hypo Hippo. You'll learn that I'm a pizzaholic. But I only eat one slice at a time, and always with a salad. One slice of pizza from an italian restaurant is about 250 calories, which is lower than most Lean Cuisine meals, so it isn't so bad. The kashi waffles taste like regular waffles. I actually like them better than Ego waffles. Give them a try.

Angela, I would love to hang out in Melbourne sometime. Let me know next time you're in town.

So I slept in today, until noon. Man, I can't believe I slept so late. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do. I definitely want to do my shopping for the week and I want to work out. I think Dan and I are going out later with the guy who introduced us. I haven't met him yet, so that should be interesting.

Slept in??? Whats that? Sounds like a foreign word to me! ;)

Anyways, hope you have fun tonight!!

hey there!!!! I need to start a new diary also... i totally crapped out about Dec 10th, and must have put on 8 lbs over the holidays (if not more, i haven't weighed myself yet!!) Good luck with your new plans!!!!!

Haha, it's okay Hype, I know you were joking. Oh man, Korrie, that was the first time I slept in in a LONG time, but I still went to sleep relatively early last night. Amomono, the weight you put on is probably mostly water weight-I had gained 8 pounds and after 3 days of eating healthy it went away. Ugh, I felt so bloated though. GROSS!

So yesterday I went for an hour long walk. I have enormous blisters on my little toes! I have godzilla feet. Seriously, they're not much smaller than my boyfriend's, and he's 6'8". Speaking of which, the scariest thing ever happened. Dan weighed himself on my new scale and he is 245 pounds. That is FIVE POUNDS more than I weighed at this time last year. Boy, was that a shocker. That was definitely motivation though. Can you imagine? I weighed as much as a 6'8" man. Scary.

Yesterday-

Breakfast:
Egg Beaters (60)
2 slices veggie bacon
1 kashi waffle (100)
orange juice (100)

Lunch:
Lean Cuisine Veggie Pizza (320)

Snack:
Mango! (70)

Dinner:
Portobella and Roasted Red Pepper Sandwich (400)
Salad (100)

Dessert:
WW Cookie Ice Cream Bar (140)

hey there sweetie!!! You were asking about some exercises that you could do with weights or ways to target areas... I go to the gym at school b/c it's free, and I can use their machines (which helps with form) but I do bicep curls and tricep extensions - and for your shoulders you can do the military press - which is lifting the weights straight above your head.

for your hips and thighs I have been using machines that work inner and outer thighs... in one you sit with your legs straight in front of you and pull them apart, and the other you sit with your legs straddled out and push them together.

waist i'm not so good at yet... I haven't found a good machine to work my love handles, but good old situps work pretty well for that... the biggest thing is getting the fat out of the way through cardio... there are machines that will help for that - and one excercise I know of is to stand straight up, feet shoulder length apart and with a weight in your hand lean over to one side and then the other and stand back up again.

I hope this helps!!! you can do the arms with free weights, but you might need a machine for the other... or one of those "Thighmasters" that Suzanne Summers had a while ago ;)

Hey Girl! Looking good!

I got some of the Kashi waffles today. I will let you know what I think about them as soon as I get a chance to try them. :)

Thanks so much, Katie! I think my biggest issue with exercise machines and free weights is that the results are so slow that I think I'm not doing it right. I'm good with cardio, but then I get down to those free weights with all of the big muscley guys I feel like a fool. But that's no excuse. My school has a free gym too and it's really nice--it better be, since they use all of my tutition money for that rather than classes!

Oooh, Hypo Hippo, let me know. I like those Kashi waffles!

Here's yesterday-

Breakfast:
Slim Fast Granola Bar (220)
Light Fat Free Yogurt (100)

Snack:
1/2 cup Honey O's (55)

Lunch:
Lean Cuisine Penne Pasta (270)
Mango (70)
Fat Free Pudding (100)

Snack:
1 slice whole wheat bread with 2 tablespoons peanut butter, sliced banana and a drizzle of honey (400)--high calorie snack, but high protein too. Very filling.

Dinner:
Egg Beaters (60)
2 Slices Veggie Bacon (60)
2 Slices Whole Wheat Toast (120)
Orange Juice (50)
Blueberries, Raspberries, and Blackberries (50)

Dessert:
WW Cookie Ice Cream Bar (140)

I work all day today, and probably every Sunday for the rest of the semester, which sucks, but I got stuck with a horrible class schedule. I'm so disappointed. Right now I only have two classes and I'm so desperate to get even one more. I have to go fight for another class on Tuesday.

wow, sounds like you have alot on your plate girl! Take it easy though, you'll get past it.

Looks like your doing real well on your diet!

Hey your weight loss efforts seem to be going really well! I hope your semester improves too! Good luck girl! :)

I use the machines exactly because of what you said - that I feel like a fool when I am using the free weights with all of those buff guys.

I have actually found that I have felt results fairly quickly lifting weights... maybe try to use a bit more weight when you do it, and in just a few weeks you will begin to FEELthe definition and your muscles getting harder, even if you can't SEE it right away... that was the biggest motivation for me - knowing that I actually had a bicep down there!!! and the reason why i feel so guilty for not working out for the past month - b/c all of my muscles are puny again!

everything you are eating is soo good for your body! doesnt it give you so much more energy through the day when its good cals and not bad ones?

so how does that veggie bacon taste? Im a SUCKER for bacon, and try to remember its a treat and not a staple. I swear if it were up to me I think I could down a good half pound of it a day! wait, it IS up to me! so just a slice here and there.....

ive tried that turkey bacon, and didnt like it much. thanks in advance
