Jaclyn's diary

Thanks Totallyscrappy! Class was fun. I have it again tomorrow.

Thanks for your condolences Angela. It is hard to lose pets, and I'm a sucker for having pets, so I've gone through this many many times.

Well, today I got up early to take my cat to the vet for his yearly vaccinations. He's always so well behaved, even though he doesn't like it. I'm so glad he's a good boy and doesn't embarass me. The vets and nurses love him.

Since I was up early I was able to have a productive day. After the vet I returned a new bag of hamster litter to the pet store, since poor Little Rhonda passed, and then I took a bike ride. I was contemplating the gym, but being outside in the fresh air seemed like a much better plan, so that's what I went with. Bike riding is a good workout too, at least as good as the elliptical, and the really good thing about it is I can't just hop off and get in my car and go home like I can at the gym. Wherever I ride to I have to ride back, so it's incentive.:)

After my bike ride I went to the pool and did some reading for my class, then slept in the pool chair for a little while. I got a bit of a tan, but I'll have to keep going if I'm actually going to get anything that sticks. Then I went grocery shopping, stocked up on good healthy stuff, and made some dinner. Now I have more reading and a journal to do for class tomorrow, then I think I might watch Good Will Hunting, which I rented a few days ago and forgot about.

Sorry here also about the loss of your pet. :(

On a good note it sounds like you are a doing a wonderful job sticking to your diet. It's SO Hard sometimes....

Some of the food you talk about eating (the meat-free dishes, especially the eggplant) sound great, I might have to try a few of those myself.

Thanks for the condolences everyone. Little Rhonda was a good hamster.

Thanks for the compliment on the picture too Smiley. I always hate pictures of myself, but I like this one for some reason. It looks like I'm about to spit on someone. :)

Michele, welcome! Yes, I am a ten year and going strong vegetarian, so I come up with some great meat free dishes. Babaganoush is really really good, you have to try it sometime.

Hey Jenn, Reggae Lit is very interesting, it's basically focusing on Bob Marley's music, and the influence it had on Jamaican writers, along with focus on other influential reggae artists, like Peter Tosh, Lee "Scratch" Perry, and Bunny Wailer. We're reading several books by established Carribbean writers and every class we have a literature discourse, where we discuss the books and music. My teacher is the same teacher I had for English Renaissance Poetry and Prose, and he's awesome. He brings his guitar to class, we jam, talk, ect. Tonight we watched the documentary "Catch a Fire." The class is great, the only bad thing is that it's an hour away, and it's four hours long, so the whole process of going to class is six hours!!!

I worked this morning, had a pretty smooth day. Being supervisor has been pretty good so far. Everyone is responding to me, and I got a nice new desk. I get to have an AIM name at work, and I even have my own extension. I'm so ridiculous, can you believe I'm getting excited about such things?

By the way, last night my cat decided it would be a great time to throw up, and since he had just gotten his shots early that morning we freaked out that he was having a bad reaction and brought him back to the vet. They gave him some fluids and told us to let him rest. He seems okay now, just a little tired, but he scared us. Ever since his surgery we watch him like a hawk. Anyway, that all happened at about 11 last night, and we got him home around 12:30, I didn't go to bed until 2 because I was wound up, then I got up at 7 AM for work, worked until 4:30, then drove straight from work (in my heels) to my class, which was 4 hours long, then drove the hour back home. It is now 11 PM and I'm getting in the shower. But I stuck to my good eating all day. :) :) :)

Wow, I thought I didn't have any time with my schedule....you make mine look totally weak. I'm impressed you could do all that and not run for the nearest McDonald's. :p

Thank you for your support I really need it in my time of wanting to flop :) Good luck with your weight loss and your hectic schedule and once again Thanks for checking on me.
