I've hit a plateau. GRR!

At 183lbs I have well and truly peaked at the minute. The scales will not budge. Morning runs and a strict calorie controlled diet have gave in to this phenomenon. After researching the internet last night I have had a 'cheat day'. I have ate white bread, chocolate and just snacked all day. Anyone had any success having a cheat day to break a plateau?
Supposedly it kick starts your metabolism again after it has adjusted to a big weight loss. It takes you out of starvation mode and swiftly rejoining your diet helps the weight loss continue.

How many calories daily are you eating out of interest?

And yeah, I've heard cheat days can help--Hope they start moving again soon!!

My calorie content isn't 'exact' so to speak but i pre prepare my meals so they are around 300 calories per meal + or - 20.

That makes 1200 calories over 4 meals plus fruit of about 200 calories. So...about 1400.

More on days when i train and plenty of water.

Well, you're not under-eating so I don't know :/ Try and mix things up a little and eat a little more and see if that boosts things along a bit. Monitor your scales--Hope you start losing again soon!

Hope so. It's going to through it all out of whack when i get back to work. I burn around 6000 calories a day in the ships engine room. Dieting is hard at sea and with a big drinking culture lol

Well after the constant weighing of the last week and seeing 183lbs i weighed this afternoon and it dropped to 181lbs. This will only be a mirage or something but it has shifted and i think the cheat day is the reason.

I think the split opinions on cheat days are born from the fact people use a cheat day totally overload and fall off the wagon. All i did was add an extra piece of fruit or a biscuit with each meal.
