So yesterday I had a bad day with eating. We had a festival called taste of Edmonton. It basically is local restaurants where you buy tickets for smaller plates of food(Sample size). I had way too much. Today I had ice cream after dinner, and a cupcake at work. On a more positive note fruit and yogurt for a snack.

My problem is I can do ok with limiting myself at work, but when I’m home or off work, I over indulge or eat out. Not to mention my family has bad habits with food as well. There is always junk food around. My will power is weak. I`m not good with counting calories and diets are intimidating. There is just so much information on the best way to lose weight! Ok now that I got that out, it is time to stop feeling sorry for myself.

I am trying to eat healthier and exercise regularly. My first goal is to simply stop focusing so much on numbers and on creating healthier habits. Ultimately I just want to love myself whatever my shape.

Hi Emmy,

I've just read your problem so I identify myself before a few years. I think that almost everyone has the same problem. The most difficult thing in the whole process (weight loss, new habits, exercise) is the motivation the you need to start changing yourself. You can find everywhere good motivational articles, quotes, pictures , etc . I think that this is one of the best
<link removed> When you'll motivate yourself Emmy, Believe me that afterwards, everything is easier.

stay positive Emmy and good luck with your effort.

Hey Emmy,

your plan sounds sound, fad diets never work for the long haul anyway so you might as well ignore them! I´m always happy to hear people say they want to be healthy and learn to like themselves instead of the numbers on the scale. So best of luck to you, I´m looking forward to seeing you progress!

Well this morning I was a little lazy and didn't work out, but I have been making a lot better choices. I have been avoiding soda and ate a healthy salad for supper. I brought fruit and yogurt and veggies tonight for a snack. I am struggling to find non-process foods that are quick to make at work. Getting healthy proteins in is a little challenging. I think I should do some more research. Although I haven't noticed any weight-loss I do feel healthier!

Hi Emmy! I agree that finding good non-processed foods for work requires some effort. I tend to eat a lot of nuts and cottage cheese to keep me going, but that's not always satisfying. Anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing about your progress!

Its Monday and a new week

So just got home from work, I do overnights which I find can be a real challenge to find time to work out. I try to run on the treadmill for 25 minutes. Its not much but doing nights this works is works best for me. I can run(well mostly jog) for 20minutes! Today I made sure to get my butt on the treadmill, as this weekend I was pretty lazy. Last night I took a green salad, with veggies, nuts and cheese. Yogurt and a mango and then mushrooms soup for the end of my shift. But I think I might need to cut out something, because I usually need to have a small meal after working out. I don't want to over eat. Still trying to find a good balance.
I have been thinking about what my ultimate goal would be. Honestly if I could get down to 135lbs that would be awesome. But I just want to love my body. I currently weigh 258lbs last time I checked. I don't like to check the scale to often because if I don't lose weight fast enough, I lose motivation.
My mom and sister said I look like I have loss a little so here to hoping! Anyway time to put this girl to bed. Night P.S I am writing this on my phone which is really frustrating so if the spelling or any parts don't make sense I'm sorry :)

Monday

For tonight at work I brought chicken sandwich on brown bread, veggie salad and yogurt and a banana. I found I love to add cinnamon to my yogurt. It makes it seem more like a treat. I was really tired yesterday so I did not workout. I got to make sure I get on that treadmill tomorrow. I have been slacking off and really need to keep finding the motivation to exercise. I tend to make excuses for myself or get lazy.

I had a reminder this weekend how important it is to drink water, not just for weight-loss, but for your health. I was dehydrated and when donating blood, feinted. Lol I really am a drama queen. So my goal for this week is to drink lots of water, at least 5 glasses at work.
