Hello everyone! Happy New Decade to all of you. I've been visiting this site off and on for a few months and finally decided to join. I've always thought about beginning a weight loss... journal (men don't have diaries lol) but I never wanted to because I need some encouragement and motivation. If I had a journal and kept it to myself, then who else would motivate and encourage me after my writing? After reading other people's entries, I decided to start one. There seems to be some great people around these parts! Allow me to introduce myself, and my goals
I chose the username NuMan, (pronounced New Man lol) because that's what I'm gonna be. Its a new year, new decade, new hour, new minute... new everything! I'm 22 years old, I graduated from college last May and I'm contemplating grad school at the moment since its tough to find a job. I'm 5' 10" and about 190 pounds depending on the outfit. I'm also quite handsome if I do say so myself.
My goal is to lose roughly 15-20 pounds and keep it off.
I'm not one for crazy diets and over the top exercises. In my past forays into losing weight, I've found that simple changes help a lot. I plan on doing the following:
1) Exercising 3-5 times a week, including some cardio and the weightless 20 minute workout from a Men's Health Magazine book I bought
2) Replacing parts of a meal with healthy alternatives. An example will be adding a salad or some vegetables to a meal so I don't feel the urge to go for that second helping.
3) Cutting back on the dairy. I drink too much milk and I have a mistress. Her name is cheese. I plan on cutting back
4) I've found that I need to eat roughly 2500 calories and roughly 75 grams of fat to do what I need to do. I've yet to figure out my sugar intake
5) Lastly, I plan on drinking water all the time... well most of the time.
There are a few other things I plan on doing, but those are a few things to get started. I would like to be done by the summer, around June. I'm in no rush and I understand this could be difficult. I invite any and everyone to share this journey with me. I plan on keeping it honest and fun in this thread! Any feedback, encouragement, criticism etc will be greatly appreciated AND recipricated. We have to make each other better!!!
Thanks for reading and I hope you continue to do so
