Truslyver Thanks for that....and for the detailed response to my question in your diary...it was very helpful, I'm going to make sure I understand it first and then incorporate it into my own routine (with spotter present

). I actually use a wide grip (so I guess less tricep invovement?) and my form is exactly like the one shown in the "barbell bench press" rather than the powerlift bench press...which I now want to try.
Tom: OMG, are you kidding me? The difference between doing a bench press with a 70# loaded bar is day/night different than with two 35# dumbells. Jeeze, I had
no idea.
Sara: that's a good thought. Someone else brought up the same idea recently...She had lost a ton of weight, quit smoking and in the process regained pretty much most of it back. She commented that "people like us" (those with addictive personalities) "should never take up smoking or drinking". The smoking is a non-issue for me, and pretty much the drinking now as well. I used to drink a lot just because I could and it didn't affect me....sort of like a party trick....when all around me were falling like pins, I was still standing, cold sober, glass in hand. Those were the days.

Something about my weight loss this time (I can only guess the change in bodyfat) just put a cap on that. I seem to have traded my addiction to food for an addiction to picking up heavy pieces of iron. Seriously, I walk in the weight room every morning, breath in the sweaty funk, and it's like "aaah, I'm home".
Blacita: Hey there Miss Losing at Warp Speed! I'm actually incorportating some of the stuff you gave me from your work-out into my new one. Right now I'm working off the outline of doing 4 days of weights vs. my current 3 days, I'm thinking along the lines of Heavy compound/light isolation/cardio/heavy compund/light isolation/core+cardio/rest. Super effective?? Optimal??? I honestly don't know...but I'm having more fun putting it together right now than a kid at Christmas.
Anna: Thank you! Yep, feeling 100%, lesson learned (finally) and ready to roll. Here's to being fit
and sober! Great job on your new yoga btw (yep, I read even when I don't have time to always respond.

)
Val: I guess you're just gonna have to drink for me and Anna and we'll enjoy it vicariously .. it will be sort of like reading food porn (almost, but not quite as much fun as the real thing

oh, well)
HealthyHabit & Sanvean: Hi ladies and thank you for dropping by and leaving nice words.
Well, obviously my sweet little Zen moment of "I am in perfect harmony with my body and want to change nothing" has...passed. It lasted, oh, about a week. I'm in the gym this morning basically just playing around with how I want to put stuff together for my new work-out routine, and what started out a couple days ago as "I just want to increase my bench" has morphed itself into an excited "yea, baby, 8 weeks of this and I'll be a lean mean well defined machine". ...complete with visions of a Pussycat Doll body dancing in my head. Scheduled myself for bodyfat test & measurements on Monday. Sigh..... I'm so damn predictable.
Ouch, this is so long I think I'm gonna make a seperate page for my foods.
