So the new year (and a new decade) has started. I've only just joined this forum and already it's motivating me to get off my bum and sort myself out. I've been lying to myself for ages now, pretending to be happy with the way that I look but do you know what? I really, really need to do something about this. My health is at risk, and lets be honest, I'd be much better off all round if I lost about four stone!!

It's lovely to see all you guys losing weight, and getting where you want to be in life. My plan is to have lost four and a half stone through diet and exercise by August. I have my treadmill and my cross trainer at the ready and have dusted off my Wii fit!! :smilielol5:

At the moment I weigh 92kg (204lbs) which is a long way from my goal of 63kg (140lbs) I have 29kg (64lbs) to lose!! I've taken a couple of starting photos, just so you know what I look like at the beginning. I plan to take a photo every month or so, to track my own progress.

I hope you guys will give me a bit of moral support, and in return I will help anyone else who is in the same position. :coolgleamA:

Welcome to the forum! There is a lot of good information here, as well as photos and stories of others. You are making a good start by having the courage to post starting photos. I wish you the best as you embark on this journey.

Jess!
Hey, after reading your post, I feel like we have much in common. I am done pretending that I'm happy with my body and my health. I started working out again and watching my food intake a little over a month ago at 216 pounds...and I'm now down to 200 (on a good day). I can't wait until I get under that 200 mark, and I think we could help each other out!! I don't know how tall you are, but I'm 5'6'' and my weight goal is about the same as you. If you're ever having a rough day or need anything...let me know!

Happy exercising :)

Hi Feelinfluffy, thankyou so much for your reply to my post. Do you have facebook? I'm on there a lot more than I'm on here, but would love to help each other out and track each others progress!! :)

Speak soon x

Good luck on your goals! I too am going to try to lose weight this year. I was going to try and run outside everyday but the snow we keep getting is kind of ruining that. But I'm still trying and keeping hope that I will lose.
I really hope that you make it to where you want to be! No.....I KNOW you will.:)

Jess-- if you like the wii fit, I highly suggest you try the wii active. It gives you a set workout to follow and walks you through it all. :D Welcome and I hope to see you around!

Unfortunately, I don't spend much time on Facebook these days. I try to check this at least every couple of days though! It's probably easiest to contact me here if you'd like!

How are you doing?

You took one foot forward, now just have to put each foot in front of the other on this path.

Course, we are all walking it too so you are going to get plenty of support!

You're very brave to put up your before pictures at the start of your weightloss... I'm too much of a wimp! =)

Good luck, lots of motivation and support to be found here! x

Hi Jess,

Our starting weights are pretty close and we are both heading for the same long-term goal (140lbs) so I'm in a similar position to you =)

Good luck with it! x

It's so good to see people like yourself starting on a positive journey in 2010. Some things which may help along the way:
Keeping a food and drink diary - to track what you are taking on board as it's as simple as making sure the amount of calories you are burning is greater than what you are taking on
Start small with your exercise goals, for instance make a sure you train 3 - 4 times per week, it's not about the length of time you train but more about the quaity of exercise. Higher intensity but shorter duration wil give greater results than low intensity for longer, so interval type training (fast then slow) 20 mins should do the trick.
Breakfast of some sort is a must to kick start your metabolic rate, drinking plenty of water and having Green Tea will also help.
If you'd like any more tips feel free to email me and I'm more than happy to help.

All the best and keep in positive

Hi everyone, haven't been online much over the past few days but so far I've lost 5 pounds which is taken me under 200lbs which has made me so happy!!
