It Starts...

Wow, what a busy bee you have been :)

Congrats on getting the Nutrition Application all finished and turned in. Funny thing about the essay, I always thought i was such a shitty writer but, a lot of the time when I read what I've written I'm surprised I wrote it...

I'm not too nervous going into my program, relating and making friends at least. It's always been something that's pretty easy for me to do, and people don't typically forget me once we have met. I did re-connect with a girl I went to highschool with, who is going to be in all my same classes. I'm excited to have a study buddy right from the get-go. I'm excited to meet new people and make new friends. It's one of my strong points I think. I wouldn't consider you socially inept at all, at least how you come across on here. I say just be yourself and be open to new things and you'll be fine. You seem pretty optimistic and that can make a world of difference ;)

I'm feeling pretty good. I've found that when I run for more than 2 miles my left legs starts to go numb... starting at my foot and moving its way up. I asked my physical therapist yesterday what could be the cause and he said that its most likely some kind of pinched nerve in my lumbar spine. He said that without a workup on it or a diagonsis that he couldnt treat it but he did give me some exercies to do before I run to open up my spine in that region. I plan to run today again so we will see how that goes!:

Weird!! Sometime I have experienced numbness and tingling in my toes but I found out it was caused by my shoes and I was running on my toes versus more heel to toe or flat footed. I hope it is not something serious!!

Hey lady anything is possible!! Did you ever in your right mind think you would be running marathons???????? :willy_nilly:

I originally thought people who ran marathons were bonkers...little did I ever think I would join the group of crazies!! I'm truly amazed at what our bodies can do if you train properly.

Busy busy busy, the story of my life!! Only a few more weeks of school and then I'm freeeee! And do I ever need a break. Plus I'm gonna take it easy next semester and only take 2 classes.

Yeah you totally seem like a person that would be easy to talk to... I think Val is right that maybe its the people I talk to that are socially inept or just have no interest. I actually had a nice conversation with a lady yesterday just totally random while I was unlocking my bike... she was doing the same. It was just small talk but still... I think most people just don't want to talk!

Happy Friday Handsome!!!:)

I don't think its anything serious. I don't have any pain in my lumbar at all. And it could be my shoes too... Step and I decided that we were going to have our feet fitted to running shoes after the new year. I just got running shoes, but I feel like they are almost too big or something isnt right. And Step needs new running shoes badly.

Ha I would have to agree that runners are of a certain breed of people... and may seem crazy to the outsiders, but they easily suck you in!!!

We so crazy :willy_nilly: :biggrinjester:

Um, YES please get proper running shoes. The wrong running shoes can fuck you up! From the feet, up--knees, hips, back.....I'm not exaggerating. Seriously!

That's the plan!! Currently we can't afford new shoes, but after the holiday and our end of the year bonuses have been distributed then off the ABQ running shop! Should be... interesting... I haven't had anything "fitted" in my life!

November 21

Step came home last night!! YAY! I was excited and spent the evening "preparing" for his return. He ate out more this past week then we have in a year I think. 4 days of Wendy's can do terrible things to a person! So I slaved and made a wonderful home cooked meal. Chicken alfredo with veggies and rosemary loaf. I also made brownies because they are his favorite... I also got him a card... because thats how I do. :)

So with that my cals were right on track at 1750 or so. See what happens when I cook! I get my cals in! I didn't run yesterday though :( I wanted to badly, but ran out of time. But I got lots of others things done.

Today I'm not feeling too hot. I've had a pretty fierce headache all day... sinuses. I didn't bring lunch so I went out with my co-workers. We went to a mexican resturante... so zero healthy choices on the menu. I ordered a stuffed sopilla and ate about 1/4 of it. It was alright I guess... I'm just feeling kinda bleh....

So that's all for now... Step and I are down to 1 car so he took me to work and should be picking me up here pretty soon.... I'm ready to go home!

Happy Friday to you. Don't fret the missed run or mexican feast. We all have to still "live". I ran to the border last night myself. LOL Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Victory is MINE!!!

Ha ha... so I was considering buying some jeans in a size 8 for motivation. So today Step and I had a little shopping to do at Wal-Mart. Now like most women I am pretty picky about how my pants fit and I am of the low-rise generation which are typically found in the "jr" section. I have a pair of 11 jrs that fit super nice and I tried on a pair of 9s.. but no dice. Step was like why are you in the teen section??? So we moved over to the misses... I'm really confused about how they break down sizing... how is it that misses are "normal" sizes and womens are "big" sizes... I think they should just put it all together! Anyway... so I was looking for a pair of low-rise jeans in an 8... I found several mid-rise in 3 different brands and took 8 regs and 10 regs into the dressing room.... low and behold the 8s FIT!!! Slide right on and buttoned!! I think this is the first time in a very long time I've had a victory in the dressing room. Well they fit but I didn't like the cut, they were too short length wise and too long in the crotch.. if that makes sense. I did some more searching and found a pair of low-rise levi's in an 8 long... tired them on... they were a little snug, but I got them on and could wear them comfortably!!!

So I am happy to announce I can wear jeans in a single digit!! Something I have never done in my life as long as I can remember... I've always been 12+ even as high as 20... and to be an 8 makes this girl... smile :):):)

WHOOOOOHOOOOO!!!.....GREAT JOB!!! And you thought nothing was happening!!! PSHHHHH!!!! ;).....LOOK at you now, Miss SINGLE DIGIT!!! :)

 Does this mean you got to your Crazy 8 goal?

I dunno!!! I guess now is time to refine the goal! I didn't know I was already an 8 so now I just want to really get into the 130s... and shoot for that size 6!!! OMG!! I never ever thought I would be shooting for a 6 this soon!!!! Crazy!!!!!!!! I'm sooooo excited!!!

DAMN, no kidding!

And I also buy "Juniors" pants--and am a size 9. Hmm, I wonder if that makes me a size 7 in womens???????

YAY for the 130s! You are soooooooooooooo close!

OOUUU!! Girl, that is FANTASTIC! Good for you. That has to feel good, really good. Keep up the great work!! Getting there is half the battle, maintaining will be the other half. Get rid of all your bigger clothes. That way if you were to gain a few pounds your clothes (size 8's) would be tight, prompting immediate motivation to drop a few pounds so you can breathe when you sit down. LOL My friend Amie does this technique and it works! I've never tried it because my weight has never held constant long enough...but that is going to change.

I'm about to do some major spring cleaning in my closet. I've got clothes of all sizes...I don't even know which ones fit properly anymore. The majority are way too big. I held on to a few "skinny jeans" from when I was smaller years ago but I'm thinking most of those will go too since they are becoming out of style. Time to re-vamp the wardrobe once I get to 135!! Thanks for putting together our 135 or bust thread. I'm super motivated to get there w/you ladies! No turning back...
