It Starts...

Just checking in... Its lunch, I went and tanned as usual. Was seriously thinking about getting fast food for lunch, but it was just a thought. I am having my tuna fish sandy.. and its doing the trick.

I was/am pretty grumpy today... totally pre-menstrual so its to be expected. I am better now than I was this morning though. I just hope the rest of the day goes by quickly.

I went and sat in Financial aid for about an hour. I needed to get my tuition for this year taken care of before next Friday, it was stressing me out because I always spend tons of money on books and school stuff this time of year and was hoping for a different option than paying out of pocket... and luckly my books are covered... so that stress is off my back.

I'm still stressed about vacation... I plan to stay on track, I already made up my mind. My only concern is not getting all my points. Like I said before I tend to not eat on trips especially since Stephen's family will be around, I have a hard time eating in front of people... so I don't. But I am going to do everything in my power to stay on track, its not worth de-railing my progress.

Stephen is going out of town on Saturday, he is going field herping with a guy from work... its where you look for reptiles in the wild... He's into that kinda stuff... we actually have a few snakes and stuff... they are fun. He invited me to tag along but I told him I need some me time... he agreed. He said I am more stressed than I think and that's why I've been so sick... and its possible. I might see if I can get a massage scheduled...

Anyway, todays eats:

Breakfast:
1 cup coffee: 0 pts
2 tbps dry creamer: 2 pts
2 tbsp sugar: 2 pts
1 cup cherrios: 2 pts
1/2 cup FF milk: 1 pt
1 banana: 2 pts
Total: 9 points
Note: HOLY!

Lunch:
2 slice wheat bread: 3 pts
1/2 can tuna: 1 pt
1 tbsp Lite mircle whip: 1 pt
1 cup carrots: 0 pts
Total: 5 pts
Leaving me with 8 points for the evening. I plan to workout tonight hardcore so I should get at min 7 points back. I am making burgers for dinner, but they are pretty low in points... so we will see what happens.

Can you pack some healthy snacks for your vacay if you don't want to eat in front of his family? That way you can still get your minimum points in and stay on track? Bring your shoes to and get some exercise in and then you can eat a little more! But no matter what happens just enjoy it.

I agree with humps on that one. Also, don't be so self conscious about your body. You look great and your hard work has paid off. Show that body off girl!

I must say I really love that pic of you. I can't really see if you've made any progress cus your upper body is so tiny as is, but you hips DO look smaller from what I can see. So congrats to you, you look really great. And I totally agree with Stephen, you are SOOO stressed. Your last few entries have sounded like you are practically pulling out your hair. And you do actually sound more stressed than you really are (I don't know how I can tell that, but it just seems like it). I know school is coming up and money for school and losing weight and vacation and eating are all stressful. Just take a breather and seriously try to relax. I am a very passive person so it may be easier for me to do, but you should just try to shrug it off. Your going on vacation and I'm sure you'll be fine. THAT you are DEFINATELY overstressing. It's vacation.... don't stress about vacation. The only people that stress about vacation are workaholics. Don't stress about weight loss. You lost 3 lbs last month, you have been staying within your points AND you have been working out consistently. Your body will only shed as much as it is willing to... unless you want to starve yourself. School. well you already need not worry about books, you have your schooling paid for this year and you are a whiz in your major. I would seriously just relax. Take a few breathers and think of how great things are going for you and the pro's of each of your situations instead of the cons of vacation, school, and weight loss. You're doing great. Put a smile on and try not to let the illness get you so stressed and down.

Thanks guys for all the support, it really helps.

I am a little better today trying hard to breathe and relax a bit. I think you are right Amanda I am overstressing about everything and I just need to step back a min and look at everything that is stressing me out.

I was back in the doc's office this morning, my bloodwork and CAT scan all came back normal which was expected. But I still don't feel like me... and honestly I think its all this STRESS!!!! The doc felt around on my head and said that maybe I am having a tension headache.... so she prescribed a muscle relaxer and wants me to get at least 3 massages before we go on the trip and for them to concentrate on my head, neck, shoulders, and face. I'm not to thrilled about the muscle relaxer but I am willing to give it a try and who doesnt love a good massage.

As for today I am just trying to relax a bit. I am going to head out and get this prescription filled and run over to whole foods for the stuff for poo baby shakes as well as something from the deli for my grumbling tummy!

Stephen is for sure going to be gone all day tomorrow so I am going to take myself shopping! Shopping always makes things better right???

Again THANKS Amanda, Humps, and Mac... I will take all your advice and have a fun vacation!!!

Ah home alone...

Stephen left this morning just after 5, he should be back late this evening. I couldn't go back to sleep after he left so I got up and got moving. I went out and tended to our front yard for close to 2 hours. And let me tell you, pulling weeds and dragging a hose around its quite the workout. The font looks really nice now, even neighbor lady commented on how nice it looks.:)

Boomer and I went for a run, just a quick mile, took us 20 mins. We were also almost eaten by a giant german shepard, but Boomer protected me and me moved on quickly.

I was hoping to do a little shopping today, but eh I'm not really in the mood. Kinda just want to cat nap all day. I made an appointment to have a massage this afternoon and I am really looking forward to that. My head as usual hurts but I've been trying to ignore it!

Today's Exercise:

1 mile jog w/Boomer: 20 mins +2 Points

Today's Eats
1 cup hot tea: 0 pts
1 pkt splenda: 0 pts
1/2 cup soy milk: 1 pt
1 almost muffin: 3 pts
Total: 4 points

I also downed quite a bit of water!

That's all for now I might go tan, I usually don't but only a week till we leave and I am not as brown as I could be! :)

*Takes a deep breath* Okay, so I have decided to do things a little different this month. I feel I did alot of running and a few salsa classes... but that was it no strength training at all! I usually set goals for the month to do x amout of cardio and x amount of strength training each week. But this time I am going to play it week by week and not as a whole month and see how it goes.

I have two huge obstacles to over come this month, one being vacation and the other school starting. I am excited about both, but also a little worried about both. But I have a PLAN, which I feel good about.

I noticed last month that I stayed on track only 1 weekend and the rest I just kinda ate whatever I wanted and that is my biggest challenge. I think creating menus is a good way to avoid this and that is what I am going to shoot for. Of course I always give myself one evening of enjoyment. Going to school is also going to prove to be difficult because of the timing of my schedule, but I think I will be able to tailor my points around it.

I am only taking 14 credit hours this semester (as opposed to 17 last semester) and I am anxious for the workload. I busted my butt last semester and hope to do the same and get high marks again. As always I need to manage my time, which is a college students biggest problem, but I learned early on how to manage.

So that's it. I am currently working on "THE PLAN" and am pretty positive about its outcome. I am also up for the challenges this month brings!

PS: Stephen Measured me yesterday, and I lost an inch off my chest, 1/2 inch of my waist, an inch off my hips (YAY!!), and 1/2 inch off my calves... everything else was the same. Hopefully this month I can get better numbers in that dept!

Preplanning is your most valuable tool... and if you know what you're main meals are going to be -you can fit in some treats into your day...

I hope it works out... I know I feel better when I plan the week's meals ahead of time... its takes the stess out of "whats for dinner."

I love having my meals preplanned. It totally helps. Cooking things that store well is a good idea as well to reduce cooking time and make things convenient.

Yes! I always try to pick things that we don't mind eating two nights in a row. We usually cook only a few nights a week and then do leftovers the rest. We have tried to sit down on Sunday's and plan out dinners as well as a grocery list... but things have been crazy... and that it what I need to look out for and be better about handeling.

Yeah the planning helps a bunch. My wife is a lister. Works great for me. She loves to make lists.

Ever try Quinoa? Its a really good grain/seed replacement for rice. Comes with a good load of branched chain amino acids. Stores well in the fridge. I mix mine with black beans, tomatoes, peppers, onion, and garlic.

Hmm, I have never heard of it. But it sounds great, espcially in that mix! I will have to try it out. Thanks for the tip.

No problem, I really like it. It has kind of a nutty flavor to it but its good. Helps to pre-rinse or soak it before cooking.

LOL is your wife also a virgo??? I am a total lister too!! You should see the list I just made for our Cape trip!

No she isnt a virgo. We have 2 kids silly.

J/K I don't think so. She was born in September. What does that make her?

Quinoa is kind of an aquired taste - very few people I know like it on the first pass..

if it's not rinsed -it can be a litle on the bitter side...

Bulgur wheat is another nice grain to play with (google taboulleh salad (or search this site, I know i've posted a recipe for it) which is a lovely middle eastern salad with bulgur, tomatoes, cucumbers, parsley, and lemon juice - and a few spices... the longer it sits - the more flavorful it gets...
