It Starts...

:seeya: MissDFitt!! So I read the very first page of journal and skimmed the rest. I think you have done awesome. I like the fact how in the begining you were more focused on your strenght training. I use to be the same as you, way back then, when it came to dieting. I remember I would basically eat nothing and work my ass off. I lost alot of wieght quickly. But the minute I had something to eat it put the pounds right back on:)

Well, I am just stopping by. You have a good day and dont forget to Drink your WATER!!!

Hey Jelly thanks for stopping by... its crazy how much as changed since I started my diary last July. I think I've really grown and become so much more educated... thanks to this wonderful forum and all the great minds that live here!

Yes WATER!! Something I can always use more of!

March 4

Well today was both good and bad. Good in that the scale read 133.0, I was down right shocked! I was just getting used to the 134s... but I'll take it. My body comp is coming along nicely.

The bad news, there is a slight chance I have a stress fracture in my left metatarsal. That would be the ball of my foot the second toe in next to the big one. It started hurting Monday evening, it was really tender and slightly swollen. I just kinda ignored it... well its Wednesday and it hurts to walk. Doing my best not to limp because I feel like just a idiot when I limp... or a weakling rather.

Today should have been a 3 miler, but since this foot thing came up I don't want to injure myself more. I'm going to "take this week off" running and see how I feel come the weekend. If its better I will attempt a short run... 3 miles most likely and see how it feels. If its not better by next Monday off to the doc I go.

I've been working with Steve and we already have a plan of attack as far as what to do if I'm out of running commision for the next 6 weeks... which honestly would ruin me, but this is part of it... stress metatarsal fractures are very common in long distance runners... I'm just hoping its only a deep tissue injury and can be back to it in a week or so.

Food as usual is spot on, although I haven't done a thing exercise wise since Sunday... I'm hoping to get a good strength workout in tomorrow!

Off to bed! Night Night

March 11

Thought I would post an update. I do have a small *possible* fracutre in my 2nd metatarsal. The doc called it inclonclusive because the fracture only showed up in 1 view of the xray. I am to stay off it... meaning no running for the next 3 weeks.

Honestly I am pretty bummed. But I just gotta roll with it. I can still strength train and I am looking into swimming lessons. I figure now is a good a time as any. Also Step and I planned a long bike ride for this weekend. The hardest part now is that it already feels 90% better than last week. But I have to stay off it so it can heal properly.

Otherwise things are okay. Eating is spot on as usual. School is school as is work.

Not much exciting going on... I registered for a 12k in May with Alta, Val, Mel, and Miranda. I am really looking forward to it! Just as long as the foot heals in time! Which it should!

Other than that I'm just stuck here at work with not a whole lot going on expect reading for small groups!

Cheers!

Ouch. I hate getting side lined by an injury. Just remember to rest. If you rush it it just makes it worse.

OOOHHHHHH :( I am soooo sorry to hear about that injury!! I know how bummed you must be!!! I actually twist my foot running today...and I took it easy for a sec and then it felt fine! ....Glad you went to the doctor!!! :)

...doc knows best..even though it feels healed already!

...I am so excited about our race in MAY!!!!! Woohoo!!! Swim classes sounds AMAZING!!! I love the thought!!! Good for you girlie!!! :patriot:

So true and I plan to listen to the doc and instead focus on stregth training and most likely swimming!!

 I can't wait for May!! I have finals that week so it will be a great way to blow off steam from the semester and just cut loose and have FUN!!!!

WHoo hooo MAY!!!!! I have the Boonville Beer Festival to go to on the 2nd and 3rd, then B2B with YOU gals the 17th--and warmer weather and more light for trail runs, YES!

Yes!! I'm looking forward to more trail running this summer too. There is a trail run that I want to enter the lottery for. They only allow 400 runners because its up the damn mountain. Its a 9 mile trail and you gain a least a mile in elevation if not more. We hiked it last summer in 6 hours... if I get a bib the goal would be to finish in under 3!!!

I'm just about to head off to work, but I wanted to show a pic from this weekend. I took some new after pics and my bikini was so big that if I was to go out in it I wouldn't feel comfy because its so baggy, espeically on the bottom. Anyway, attached is my fav shot from all the pics we took. I think this is the first time that I've been happy with after pics... I'm really making progres and as I said before I can't wait for what this spring/summer brings!

March 2009 - 133lbs

Thanks Relly, my foot is coming along. Staying off it has been hard because it doesn't really hurt anymore. This weekend marks 3 weeks that I've been off of it and I'm going to try a short run.

:)

March 17

We didn't plan out the week like we normally do on Sunday's, but I sat down last night and got a menu made for the week as well as a grocery list. I haven't been getting enough veggies and so I'm going to grill a bunch up on the forman this week. :)

I also am working on a exercise plan for the week. The weather has been really nice so I see biking and maybe some tennis thrown in there. I'm hoping for the week to look something like:

Tuesday: 30 min incline walk @ 3.0mph+/ WO2
Wednesday: Winsor Pilates AM/hilly bike ride PM
Thursday: 30-60min incline walk/WO1
Friday: Long bike ride 20+ miles
Satruday: Hike in the Jemez
Sunday: RUN! 1-2 miles

I'm on spring break and was going to work the full week, but its slow around here so I'm going to take Thursday and Friday off to have a nice long weekend. Since it is so slow at work I plan to get a lit review done for my communication class.

Happy Tuesday :)

Hey MissDFITT! I am new here and came across your Diary! Love, love, love it! I can DEFINATELY sympathize with you in the sense that I have a HUGE lower body as well (always have) and a tiny upper half and a super long torso, which makes for short stubby legs.. I'm 5'7".. You are so inspiring and I look forward to reading more!
