Isagenix questions

I tried the Isagenix program, and I really liked it.

I did it for the cleansing benefits, I liked how the soup contained live enzymes and same with the shakes.

I dont think people should focus so much on this being a weight loss solution, but rather a way to clean out the body of all the junk that was taken in over the years, and all the toxins stored in the fat cells.

I think there are so many people brainwashed by modern medicine that any type of cleansing or fasting is bad for you. For those of you who do the research, you will see that cleansing has been done for thousands of years, long before us.

I think it is only a matter of a few more decades before people realize that we can heal ourselves through cleansing. Sure people can do it themselves by going out and buying organic foods, but the Isagenix program is ready to go and easy to prepare. The hard part is sticking it out long enough to get the most benefits, and not binging on junk as soon as you go off of it.

Most of the weight lost on the 9 day program is water anyway, so don't expect anything too profound in terms of weight loss. You will feel a lot better inside though, believe that!

Tony - glad I could amuse you, but you actually proved pretty much every point I made. You ate healthy and exercised, and that worked every bit as well as the shakes and all that other stuff. Now imagine what would have happened if you'd done that from the beginning instead of wasting your money on those shakes. You could have saved a healthy amount, but then again, maybe you just have too much money, who knows?

MissJellyBelly - There is nothing wrong with fasting and cleansing if done correctly. But done correctly, it does not include chemically enhanced shakes or other supplements. And believe me, a one off 'cleansing' is not going to get rid off all the 'junk and toxins' stored in your body over years. If it was that easy, everybody would do it. Cleansing and fasting is thousands of years old and all that time people did it, and succeeded, without programs like Isagenex. I think it's just the fact that people are too lazy to do things properly, and just want to be spoon-fed and told everything they have to do. To me, Isagenix is to healthy cleansing and fasting what McDonalds is to gourmet dining. Only that Isagenix costs a hell lot more than a BigMac.

But to each their own.....*shrug*

I am on day (8) with the Isagenix product

I am on day (8) and doing fantastic! I have my own daily blog but came across your post so thought I would answer it.

Yes, by all means you could split the 15 days with your Mom...

I had actually 56kgs to lose (123.2lbs) when I started 8 days ago. No one sold me the product, I am not an Isagenix agent or spammer!

I researched the www to see what might help me lose weight as I have tried every diet known to man with little success! I have had an "insulin" resistancy problem, and have never had an overweight problem in my life until the last 18 months - 2 years. Short story, i have tried everything, from WW, CS, TF, Optifast, JC, just fruit and veges, walked, exercised, you name it and most I would lose would be around 2-4kgs per 6 - 8 weeks! (8.8)

Anyway, I came across the Isagenix hall of fame and read every single story and many stories like me i.e. ladies who had tried everything else! Sounded like me, so I searched a New Zealand Isagenix site and bought the 30 day programme. I follow it as it says and yes, it is expensive and you do need to be disciplined, like any new regime, but this stuff really does work, works incredibly well! I had my first measure and weigh in on day 6 and on day 6 I had lost a total of 5.3kgs! (11.7lbs) + 33cms (13 inches) !!! I believe those results for me to be extraordinary! Clearly my little body underneath this all fat is screaming to get out. I am rapt with the results and i can tell I have lost more in these past two days as my exercise pants were too big this morning. The fat is melting off me. IT WORKS when nothing else has.

I have noticed on a few forums that people put this product down,:grouphug::grouphug: but I think unless you've actually been there, and tried the product or have had weight gain issues due to other influences and not just caused through overeating, perhaps give people a break, listen, learn and understand a little better.

:banghead: I have learned the shallowness of the human race being treated different because i became over weight. Yet this could happen to any human.

I have a long road ahead, but an enjoyable journey with a product that is giving me the results I have sought for quite sometime.

What ever weight loss journey you choose, i wish you well. Being slim and healthy is so worth it

LOL You are preaching to the choir here.

I have 7 books on cleansing and fasting, juice fasting, organic food fasting, spiritual fasting. Your right, it isn't easy, or I wouldn't have weight to lose.

Isagenix is made up of really good ingredients. I don't suppose you've taken the time to research the ingredients in it like I have. I did my homework before I bought it. Thank you. Ingredients from all over the world which are highly beneficial are in the cleanse for life drink and other supplements and soups.

So comparing it to McDonalds? Yeah Right.

Took loads of time, and checked more than just the website of the company that actually produces this stuff.

In the end it's up to you though, it's your body, you decide what you put into it. It's your money, you decide what you spend it on.

I just think that you could have the same, if not better results, without spending all the money, and without having to rely on the slightly questionable ingredients list of Isagenix. That's all.

San, that's right. I agree with the diet and exercise being the best way. And again Isagenix does not replace that AT ALL. It's a nutritional cleanse like others have said. Their programs are designed to educate, motivate, and prepare your body to start living a healthy lifestyle. By doing the initial cleansing program and losing weight your motivation goes through the roof, hunger goes down, stomach size decreases, cravings are tamed, and energy goes up. At least, this is what happened for me.

Also, here's an update. I have not been using Isagenix for 4 1/2 weeks now. I'm eating normally, still trying to keep away from fried food, fast food, sweets/candy. And I'm exercising at least 3 times a week. I have not gained anything back. So, you (or someone) asked.... "Has anyone actually done the program, had success and kept it off??? Well now I can confirm your answer to be YES! I have!" -- But maybe 4 1/2 weeks is not long enough to make this conclusion? Okay, well I'll report back later.

I'm still feeling happy as ever and I'm still a 100% supporter of this product. I changed my life. And yes, I do believe I wouldn't have done it without it.

Hmmm....that's exactly what happened to me when I changed my eating habits, ate healthier and drank sufficient amounts of water. I lost weight instantly, which was very motivating, I wasn't hungry thanks to the water, and I kept cleaning the house like a Tazmanian devil because I was full energy which I had previously lacked in. All for free, I actually saved some money because I bought less food.

Nope, 4 1/2 weeks is not enough. I am talking about years here, not weeks. Let's talk again in a few years, and see.

And you know what? I am doing much better than you are actually. I don't have to 'stay away' from anything, because I replaced the stuff that I used to crave with healthier options, which are just as tasty and still allow me to treat myself without any regrets. And I am exercising 6-7 times a week, not because I have to, but because I enjoy it, because it makes me feel darn good about myself.

I'm still feeling happy as ever and I'm still a 100% supporter of this product. I changed my life. And yes, I do believe I wouldn't have done it without it.

Maybe you wouldn't, but that has nothing to do with the product. It's a psychological crutch for you - you convinced yourself that you need some sort of product to help you. If it hadn't been this, it would have been Weight Watchers, or some diet pill. That's what the makers of these products bank on - that people are desperate enough to believe they can't make it on their own.

And to the other person who mentioned weight gain for other reasons than overeating - if that is the case, a cleansing product can't possibly help, because it can't cure whatever problem you have. Again, it's mind over matter - you believe, it works. But let's face it, usually there is one reason for being overweight - putting more calories into your body than you need. Insulin resistancy is not a reason to be overweight, I know people who have that problem and have a perfectly healthy body weight. And the weight you lost was mostly water weight - I lost roughly the same amount in my first week, and even the second.

In any case....*sigh*....and I said it quite often before - it's your body, do with it whatever you like. *shrug*

I love this product. I did the 30 day program and lost 9lb but also 29 inches. My girlfriend is more heavier set and she lost 22lb and 31 inches in two weeks. My energy level is high, I sleep good, my adema in my lower legs was gone in three days, my girlfriend has a lower blood pressure reading since starting and her boyfriend hasn't had high diabetic numbers! I am sold!

I was suprised when I saw my original post. Were there sales links in the original posts? I came off pretty harsh.

To paraphrase the genius Richard Dawkins, when two idealistic extremes are at odds, the answer is not necessarily in between. One side can simply be wrong.

I don't believe in cleanses. Now, I could see people definitely feeling good afterwards. I mean, you go from eating crap to doing a fast and slowly working your way back up to solid foods (healthy non-processed foods) you should feel good. That part, I think is true. What I doubt is the claims of the healing power of cleanses and fasts.

The people selling cleanses are all so sleazy and the claims they give are outrageous. I especially love the ones that show what comes out of you afterwards. It reminds me of ear candles. Supposedly they pull the ear wax out of your ears whne you burn them. My friend swore by them. I gave it a try, and I would see all the wax and stuff it "pulled-out" but i didnt feel like my ears felt any different like he claimed.

A few months later he told me he burned one just out of curiousity. It had the same gunk inside.

Like those footpad things that are supposed to pull the toxins from your body, its just a scam.

People fall for it though.

Show me the results of a double-blind study showing the healing benefits of cleansing and fasting. Thats what I would like to see.

I wasn't eating CRAP before, went to the gym regularly to do weights but I couldn't lose the weight. I had been in the hospital a year ago with a hole in my large intestine because I had eliminated fibre because I gained weight..it made me sicker. I found isagenix shakes filling and satisfying and it got rid of cravings. I used to want a diet pepsi a day..my body was lacking something, so I would crave foods..I haven't with this program at all. My dr. recommended this product and it has helped by intestines better than any fibre stuff he recommended I add to my water. My energy level is up, my belly flab is going away and I feel good about myself and have some hope again. That can't be a bad thing!

Like the other poster...I didn't eat garbage and went to the gym up to 5 days a week and even did a cardio circuit and couldn't lose. With isagenix I have been able to lose 11lb and 30inches in one month, one week!

Hey yall! I've really enjoyed reading the stories and opinions on this thread, and I appreciate each one. After a lot of time to research and think it all over, I'm going with it! Tomorrow I hope to order the 30-day program, and start by the first of January. I really can't wait!

I'll let you all know how it goes!

Christiana

Hey! Thanks for asking... I'm on day 6 right now... and so far I've already lost 5 lbs! I weighed in at 208 (I'd gone up a few pounds since I made my first post..) but I'm feeling really really good, which is even more exciting. I have had energy this whole time, slept well, and I feel very happy. Never (except yesterday on my first cleanse day) have I felt hungry. I think my body is just appreciating the break from all the junk that I normally eat and from being loaded down by too much of it. I just feel light not having so much food sitting in my system. Although, I do feel like I've still been over-eating at lunchtime.. I'm working on that! lol

Anyway, I'm looking forward to day 30 so I can see the overall difference! I like the change in my attitude and the challenge of changing my old habits and mind/relationship with food..

I'm keeping a video journal, feel free to visit! My username at youtube is "frustratedwithfat"

can i eat fruit, or will i ruin my outcome??

I am on day four of my Isagenix detox and am finding the shake days harder than the "non eating days". I find the shakes arent as filling as the juice and i am actually getting hunger pains inbetween the shakes and the one meal. Does anyone know if it will effect the outcome if i eat pieces of fruit in between?? I am really struggling today and need something to eat!!

I'm happy for everyone who is getting results, but it is because you have reduced your calories and increased your calorie output.

YOU.

Have faith in what you can do. Eventually you will have to do this without this crutch (to me that is exactly what it is, a crutch wrapped in Madison Avenue buzz). I hope you know you can do it alone and start taking the steps to do so.

My personal view on things like this is the same as most doctors..that this stuff is snake oil..but sometimes snake oil is what you need to trick yourself.

Hmmm....are there any testimonies of people who have done this maybe two years ago? Because I would bet huge amounts of money that none of them has actually managed to keep the weight off them, they probably have it all back, plus some extra.

Any diet/cleansing/whateveryouwannacallit where you have to replace proper food with shakes or any of that has a tendency to backfire big time once you try to eat normally again, even if you eat healthy.

I still think that a lifestyle change, the right food and exercise are the best, and certainly healthiest way to lose weight and keep it off. And if you don't have the willpower and motivation to change your eating habits, what makes you think that you'll have the willpower and motivation to stick with a program that doesn't allow you to eat...well...anything that you like? To quote a very common phrase over here in the UK....Bollocks!!

Oh, just for the "Isagenix" (do you know what that translates to by the way? It's a slang form of "I don't say anything" in German....*lol*) worshippers out there...don't try to convert me. I have lost 33 lbs so far without cravings or anything like that, while still eating things I like. So....save your breath (or your fingers in this case), you certainly won't convert me....:smilielol5:

Lets face it, people who turn to things like this do it because they lack the self control to control portions and count calories.

They don't suddenly have that ability when they stop drinking the shakes.

I disagree. I started Isagenix a few years ago. I did two 30 days cleanse programs and have managed to lose 44 lbs and I kept it off. Some of us need that "jump start". I learned portion control during that time and I now know how to control my meals. Most of us are not as lucky as you. People like you make me sick.

I am doing isagenix too, i did the 30 day cleanse i released 50 pounds in just three months, i have more energy and i am feeling fantastic, i reach my goal now i am maintaining my weight.I have kept my weight off for two years and a half.

"Why is isagenix a possible solution for you? Why not just go with sensible diet and exercise instead of spending a lot of money that you could put towards a new wardrobe..."

"What do you think Isagenix will do for you that you couldn't do on your own?"

I have been using Isagenix for at least 3 weeks now. I wanted to respond to maleficent's question -- even though it wasn't aimed at me. I have been overweight most of my life and feel that I can shed some light on this for you.

I understand and agree that a sensible diet and exercise is the best way to lose weight and stay healthy. The Isagenix system does NOT replace that -- it helps you train your body to get into those habits. Since Isagenix I have stopped craving fatty foods. I don't get hungry all the time any more. I have started drinking water only - voluntarily. And I've gained more energy which makes me want to get out and exercise. Not only have I lost 26 pounds so far with Isagenix, I am also completely changing my eating habits and my lifestyle.

So to answer your question, What does isagenix do that you cannot do for yourself? Well, you CAN do it for yourself. But there are people like me that need a little extra help to get them motivated and get them on the right track for success. When you do Isagenix and you see the results after only a few days, your motivation to keep eating healthy and losing weight goes through the roof. And you start seeing how little it actually takes to satisfy your hunger and that encourages you to start changing your eating habits.

I'm speaking completely from personal experience. I wanted to give Isagenix a fair chance because I think maleficent is getting the wrong idea about it.

Also, as far as the price, well think about it....
The 9-day (actually 11-day counting 2 warmup days) system replaces at least 26 meals. That's 26 breakfast and dinners that you don't have to buy. That alone should equal or might even outweigh the cost of the program.

Now to answer Christiana's question (sorry):

"I've been looking at Isagenix articles, testimonies, videos, etc. and am ready to start! I know that you can either buy the 9-day program or the 30-day, and I would really like to go dutch with my mom on the 30-day program and do 15 days each. Anyone know if there are any problems to this?"

The basic nine day (really 11 days your first time through) goes like this
2 days = shake, meal, shake
2 days = cleanse
5 days = shake, meal, shake
2 days = cleanse

If you purchased a 30 day, with the intention of doing two nine days you will need to also purchase a Fast Start Pak, as you won't have enough cleanse product to make it through 8 cleanse days.

Good luck to you both on your cleanse! And let us know your results!!

Tony

you could order extra cleanse instead of ordering the fast start pack

You do realize that we have yet to see a medical study where detox is anything more than an advertising ploy? In fact, detox can harm your body but it doesn't help it. You lost weight because you lowered your calorie count compared to your calories burned.

DETOX IS A MYTH.
