is zinx oxide and just zinc the same thing?

hey,
i am just wondering if zinc and zinc oxide are the same thing ..
because my multivitamin says i get 50g of zinx (oxide) per two caplets ...
but then i hear that its not good to take over 25mg of zinc a day ..
so thats why i dont understand why my multi vitamin would give me 50mg right off the bat ... making me think that maybe zinc oxide is something different.

i have zinc lozenges i also want to take .. but if my multi is already providing me with too much zinc then that would be pretty bad ..
hope someone can help me out here.
thnx

Kinds of Zinc include Zinc acetate, Zinc oxide, Zinc permanganate, and Zinc stearate.

The above are all inorganic and pharmaceutical grades of Zinc and have commercial uses, for example, Zinc acetate is used as an emetic, a styptic, and as an astringent. Zinc oxide is used internally as an antispasmodic and as a protective in ointments. Zinc stearate is used as a water-repellant protective agent.
