is this good for me?

ok, I'm 5'8", 170-180 on and I am 13(i know I'm kinda young to worry bout my shape but I wanna lose some weight). In the weight loss section I posted that I run a mile almost everyday and I'm switching to a healthier diet. Instead of running a mile 7 days of the week do u think doing 2-3 days HITT per week and running a mile on the other days help me lose weight? I don't want to lose a lot at a time like 1-3 on a week if that. Also I take Taekwondo 3 days of the week. I would do HITT on those days. ty in adv
