Is it my illusion or.....

Hey all, I'm working on losing weight.. I started at 199 and now at 179. I'm female, 5'6" and 26 years old. I have been taking pics of my progress. I just took new ones yesterday at my 20 pound mark and my goodness it looks like I have lost alot more than 20 pounds. Here is a back comparison pic.. What do you all think. Is it my illusion or does it look like i've lost more than just 20 pounds...

Wow! I love looking at this section of the forum. It helps me be motivated to see people working hard and get results. You've definitely lost weight. Keep it up.

WOW! You look a lot smaller. A lady in my office had a baby recently and has been on the Atikins diet since the baby was born, approximately a month or so. She is back to work this week and she has lost weight but I only noticed it in her face that she has lost weight. Today I was actually supprised when she said she lost 15 pounds.
 
Thanks you all for the support.. So I guess it's not just my illusion lol, that's good to know.. I wonder if it's that I gained muscle and that's why i've only lost 20 pounds... I wish those hips would go away..they are disgusting lol
 
keep on doing whatever it is that your doing and those hips of yours will soon be gone.

what are you doing exercise/diet wise?

It looks like they are going away to me, you must have lost just as much from your hips as you have on your back.
Also, and I hope you don't mind me mentioning, you can see from the curve at the bottom of your bum that it's firming up a lot. It has a much better shape than before
 
Only 20 lbs? 20 lbs is alot of weight to lose, couple that with any muscle gains you have made while exercising. Keep it up.
 
Skittley...I'm sure you have lost more than 20lbs of fat...but in the process I'm sure you have gained some muscle too. That's why the scales say you've only lost 20lbs. You are doing a terrific job. Keep it up and keep everyone updated
 
Thanks again for the support.. it makes me feel so good ... To answer someone's question about what i've been doing.. Well I've been eating right for one.. I used to eat fast food several times a week along with drinking 3 to 4 sodas a day.. So I cut all the soda out as well. I also joined the YMCA, I go there about 5 times a week, Do Cardio stuff (treadmill, eliptical, bike) for an hour, and then about 3 times a week I do some weights. I need to figure out a weight routine though..but I haven't been too worried about it yet since I knew I needed to lose alot of fat before toning up would be an issue. Again, thanks everyone for the support.. It's greatly appreciated

You are really trimming back that waste line a lot. Keep at it Skittley, soon you are going to look back on those photos and say who is that? :)
 
do you realize that not only do you look so much better already, but you have greatly improved your health by losing 20 lbs? thats alot of weight that you no longer have to carry around with you. congratulations- you look great!! keep it up- you are an inspiration!!!
