Basically a pound equals 3500 calories burned. The difficulty is the "burned" part. The fewer calories you eat, the fewer your body will tend to burn in order to try and compensate.
Trying to lose 11 pounds in 18 days is likely counter-productive. It's theoretically possible if at the end you dehydrate yourself, but you shouldn't dehydrate yourself unless you're trying to make weight for an athletic competition. A more modest goal of trying to have a deficit of 1000 calories a day (and hence 7000 calories or two pounds in a week) is probably as far as you want to push it. So maybe cut your goal in half and that at least is doable with hard work.
Since you've already lost a bunch of weight (YAY!) 1500 calories a day sounds about right until you reach your goal weight. I'm a firm believer that eating less than that would probably be not so good. Truth be told, I think 1600 would be a better number for you at your height, but I'm assuming since you want to eat 1200 that we can compromise at 1500.

Anyway i am having such a hectic life at the moment!! I had 2 good days down after eating bad for a week and a half, then last night had a little slip...oops. Anyway so far today i am eating good but im finding it so hard during christmas time so much food everywhere and its all so lovely.
I have so much college work to do, i have a 3 essays to do and an inclass test
So i wont be on this until the next time i have loads of time lots of love ye lovely bunch xx
Most of us will have slip up this time of year, the key is not letting those little slips become days of not caring about the slip ups. Hang in there, and if you slip, get back up and keep trying.
Been over a week since i lasted posted. Been up the walls with stupid college. have gained 4 pounds in the last 2weeks which is brill considering i was out so many nights drinking like a fish and eating like a king!!

Hey ya'll!!! I know its been forever since i last posted!! Well i have offically gained 10 pounds over christmas and new years celebrations!! I know how awful and shocking.. but well expected. I have been eating so much, and the alcohol consumption has only been mighty!!
Anyway i am currently 15.9 on the scales.. mannnkaaaaaaaay... i want to be 14.6 at the end of january so thats my goal!!! I also wont be able to be on this as much as i like. ALSO HATE THIS NEW LAYOUT..its horrible and confusing.

Hey Irish! Glad to see you back again, it's been a while!! I think a lot of people struggled over the holidays, I think the important thing is you're back again and still determined to keep going.
Said id update this since i have time to spare. Day 3 of eating good complete. I haven't done any exercise so far. My plan this year until end of May is to go to the gym 4 times a week, and then after may my plan from then onwards is to gym it up 6 days a week.
This week i am going to the gym, Monday and Tuesday and Saturday and Sunday.
I cant stop going to the toilet due to drinking 2ltrs of water the last couple of days, my body isnt used to this malark.
