Inspired, Motivated, & Ready: Part 2

I started a new journal as I needed a fresh start. I need to write out my days like I was before as I need the accountability. I'm feeling like my will power is coming back too because I have been saying no left and right to temptations! I even got up before work to do the treadmill!! I'm reaching my goal once and for all!!
hope this week is going as good as last for you! How was the weekend? What are you dressing up as for Halloween? I'm going as an evil tooth fairy - it's really a witch's costume but the tooth fairy thing sounds more creative! Take care Sarah!

Good to hear you are back on track!!! I know you will get to your goal! I have still been working out consistently but this past weekend was horrible for eating! Too much pizza, yikes! I'm still holding steady around 140lbs though so I know if I try harder I can get back to 135 no problem. I am being Chuckie Finster from the Rugrats, one of my favorite cartoons growing up! I'll add a pic :) I'm going to be working all weekend though so I won't be able to get too crazy for this Halloween. Take some pics of your costume!! I'll be busy the rest of this week so I probably won't be back till next week sometime. Keep kickin' booty and I'm going to try my best to bring some good news too!
 
Logging everything and being HONEST.

Food so far today:
- Egg whites w/cheese on multigrain english muffin (200 cal)
- 5 multigrain crackers with cream cheese (170 cal)

PLANNING THE REST OF THE DAY OUT:

- "Mediterranean wrap" light wrap, hummus, feta crumbles, balsamic vinaigrette, tomato, lettuce (190 cal)
- Apple (80 cal)

- Celery w/light french onion dip (50 cal)
- Kashi bar (120 cal)

- Sloppy joe (180 cal)
- Salad (40 cal)

+ 1 hour step class at the gym!
 
Hey awesome costume!! I love it!! I didn't see that post from yesterday until today or else I would have commented on it. That's great you are keeping up your workouts and holding your weight steady is good too! 5 pounds is a lot less daunting than 20! I know you will get there again when you decide to get the eating right! I like how you came on today to post your meal plan - that is going to help keep me accountable too!
So far my will power has been great but I haven't been tempted too bad - show me a buttertart and I'm not too sure I could say no - change that - I would say no because damn I want this bad right now!! I'm feel focused on the goal for the first time in a long time. Hopefully this time I can make it stick.
You are doing awesome with maintaining so once you get to goal you shouldn't have a hard time staying there!! Have a great halloween if I don't hear from you again - I'll post pics forsure! :seeya:

I bought my costume today!! I'm a sexy referee!!! :D! Hope I pull it off cute!! Will take pics for sure ladies!! :D! STARTED RUNNING AGAIN YESTERDAY!! BAM!!! 1 hour run with HILLSSSS!!! :D! Ready to work for it! After the weekend I will POST it all too!! :) La Marathon 26.2 miles coming up MARCH!!! The run was a breeze and the allergies were SHIT!! I sneezed like 100 times in the last 30 minutes of the run, but PUSHED through!! Gonna bike today and RUN tomorrow!! :D!

Nice work Alta! I am happy to hear that you're running again, I still am not quite sure I could do a full marathon... I have terrible exercise induced asthma... Anyway looks like we are all on board to meet our goals and NO GIVING UP! I am going to log consistently like I used to and keep in touch with you and Lisa consistently as well because you guys definitely help me stick through this!!!

OK: Last week was not the greatest. I only worked out 3 days, and I did not eat well. Drank 4 nights of the week too! Ouch. But I am back on track and I started today with counting calories. I could not work out because I injured my knee during my run on Friday around the lake... (8.6 miles in 1 hour and 20 minutes! WOOHOO!!!) so I figured I should take it easy. But tomorrow I will be back to the gym for multi step class! 1 hour INTENSE cardio! LOVE IT!

Here is how today looked:
- Egg whites w/cheese on whole wheat english muffin (210 cal)
- 2 cups coffee w/sf flavor and a little half&half (30 cal)
- Banana (120 cal)
- Toast (100 cal)
- Candy! And some other mindless snacking while at work (damn I hate working with food again... 300 cal I'm guessing?)
- Chicken, ranch, tomato, provolone, lettuce wrap (300 cal)
- Fiber bar (120 cal)
= 1,180 cal

If I want something to snack on tonight I will probably just have a pickle spear (15 cal) or a juice box (10 cal). I ate HORRIBLE yesterday due to a very awesome hangover (blah) and even though I may not have ate perfectly healthy today, I still kept track of my calories and even counted for the mindless snacking instead of not counting it at all!

Monday's plan (will edit if necessary):
Breakfast - Oatmeal (160 cal) apple (80 cal)
Snack - Banana (120 cal) coffee (20 cal)
Lunch - Soup (80 cal) salad (50 cal)
Snack - Celery w/dip (50 cal) almonds (90 cal)
Dinner - Turkey burger (280 cal) pickle (15 cal)
Exercise - 1 hour multi step class at the gym
Snack - Yogurt (100 cal)
= 1,045 cal *probably will be higher if changes are made but still ok with it being lower because of the junk food and alcohol I ate this past weekend!

Here's to a GREAT week, a HEALTHY month.... and to accomplishing my goals once and for all!

GOAL #1: 135 lbs by Thanksgiving
GOAL #2: 130 lbs by Christmas

Lunch: Salad w/feta crumbles + balsamic dressing (50) four multigrain crackers w/hummus and chicken (125) pickle spear (10)
Snack: Almonds (90)
Dinner: Turkey burger w/cheese, ketchup, and yellow mustard on a bun (350), celery w/light french onion dip (40)
Snack: 3 small sugar cookies (about 1 inch in diameter, candy corn shaped! 100?)
Exercise: 15 min core complete abs class, 1 hour multi step class
Snack: 2 pretzels w/light cheddar spread (30), green grapes (50) special k bar (90)
= 1,405 calories

I just went grocery shopping... bought a lot of healthy food!
- Bananas
- Green grapes
- Hummus
- Sandwich thins
- Almond milk
- Egg whites
- Tomatoes
- Veggie burgers
- Smart Ones meals
- Special K granola bars
- Pickle spears

It's going to be a great week, I can feel it!!!! :)

Thanks! It's kinda funny, I thought my costume idea was pretty original yet I knew of two people who dressed as Chuckie this year! Don't you love healthy grocery shopping? I usually go with my roommate and it's funny watching us walk around the grocery store... yesterday she picked up a pizza and said, "Give me a reason why I shouldn't buy this." I said, "Because... I wouldn't eat it. Ew." She continued to walk with it and I said, "Don't buy it, you're gonna regret it!" Then she set it down and we kept walking lol. Or we'll walk buy cookies or something and be like "oooooo cooookiesssssss........... ok, let's keep walking!" We spend so much time at the grocery store because of this haha!

GOAL OF THE DAY: Drink 70 oz of water!

Could have done without all the snacking but I ate dinner at 6:30 and the snacking was at 10PM after I got home from studying at the library! I don't have time to write up a plan today but I will update later!
 
Day 3 was OK, but not the best! And I think it's because I didn't go into it with a plan. Here is how my day looked:

Breakfast: Oatmeal (160)
Snack: 2 cups coffee (20), Special K bar (90)
Lunch #1: Smoothie (banana, yogurt, ice 200), toast w/garlic spread (150)
Lunch #2: 4 multigrain crackers w/hummus + chicken (125), celery w/light dip (30)
Snack: Apple (80)
Dinner: Stir fry (went to a new Bejiing buffet with all my roommates... I got a plate of lots of different things until I saw the stir fry station where the chef was making fresh meals... I got a plate filled with some mushroom, green peppers, onion, pineapple, broccoli, and pork. No noodles or rice with it. Had small bites of different things to try but didn't overreat. Still guessing somewhere around 500 calories though I have no idea)
Snack: Almonds (90), pickle (15)
= 1,460 calories

Notice I did NOT get any exercise... blah. I was planning on it but I had studying to do, and after we got back from the buffet I definitely didn't feel like going.

Weighed myself this morning (I bought myself a scale, finally) and it said 144. The scale said 145 on Tuesday morning so at least I'm going in the right direction.

PLAN FOR DAY #4:

Breakfast: Egg whites + cheese on english muffin (220), juice box (10)
Snack: Banana (110), Special K bar (90)
Lunch: Mediterranean wrap (190), apple (80)
Snack: Almonds (90)
Exercise: 1 hour step class, 15 minutes core complete class
Dinner: Boca burger w/cheese, ketchup, mustard on sandwich thin (280), pickle (10)
Snack: Yogurt (100)
= 1,180 calories

It's officially the weekend when I get done with my classes today. So...

GOAL OF THE DAY: No drinking tonight if/when I go out with my roommates.
 
Hey Sarah!! Don't worry about yesterday and make up for the workout today! Eating has been great though!
Hubby went out of town and I was seaching for cookbooks hoping to find some new recipes and found the PB he hid!! The night went downhill from there! I'm throwing it out when I get home tonight so no more excuses! I did manage to do an hour on the treadmill while catching up on some shows so that was good at least. Eating is on track today and I really want to do the 30 day shred dvd so hopefully that plan sticks! Boss leaves tomorrow so I will be back in full swing Monday!! I hope to have a really healthy weekend to make up for last weekend also!
Keep it up and no drinking tonight!! Be good on the weekend too! I'm thinking I might join back to WW till Christmas but I'll see how the weighin goes tomorrow first. Glad to see you are staying focused!!

I will try my best this weekend. Good news is that I don't have to babysit anymore (usually I eat all the food in that house!) but bad news is now I have free time to go out! I'll give myself either tonight or tomorrow night to party, but ONLY one night, not the whole weekend! I think WW would be a good idea, I know you do really great on that program... so do what works best for you!

Day 4 was good, until the end of the night. *I did stick to my goal of no drinking BUT I decided to smoke with my roomies and that led to eating a few bowls of cereal... UGH!

Breakfast: Egg whites w/cheese on english muffin (220), juice box (10)
Snacks: Rice krispy treat + cookie from bake sale (150?), banana (110), special k bar (90)
Lunch: 4 multigrain crackers w/hummus + chicken (125), apple (80), almonds (90)
Exercise: 35 min treadmill (0.15 mile walking warm up, 1 mile run @ 6.8 mph, 20 min intervals - 1 min walk @ 4.0 mph / 1 min run @ 7.2 mph .. incline increased from 1 to 3, 0.15 mile walking cool down @ 3.5 mph = 3.25 miles. 15 min floor exercises - kettle bell swings, arm extensions, side bends, squats, abs routine, 1 min plank, stretch)
Dinner: Boca burger w/ketchup, mustard, onion on sandwich thin (210), pickle (10), corn (60)
Snack: Yogurt (80)
Late night snack: TOO MUCH CEREAL (500??)
= 1,735 :(

PLAN FOR DAY 5:

Breakfast: Oatmeal (160), juicebox (10)
Snack: Apple (80)
Lunch: Veggie wrap (200), yogurt (80)
Snack: Special K bar (90)
Dinner: Smart Ones (300)
I'm going out with my parents tonight also so I will allow myself 2 beers (200)
= 1,120

I won't have time to work out because I have to work 11-5 then head straight home to go out with my parents around 7.

GOAL OF THE DAY: No snacking at work! There is a lot of food around me and so much temptation (cupcakes and cinnamon rolls staring me in the face all day) I usually end up eating something of some sort so NO SNACKING! Only eating what I bring with me!

Day 5 went well. I accomplished my goal of no snacking at work! I did everything as planned for my meals except for when I went to the bar with my parents... They all ordered food, I decided not to, but I did have two small bites of my mom's burger and two mac and cheese bites with ketchup. Right when we got there I didn't feel like drinking beer, so I got a vodka pineapple juice. I ended up drinking six of them! Eeek! But I had fun, played pool and darts. Got home and had the munchies unfortunately :( That's what I get for not sticking to my "only two beers" plan!

Day 6 went good too (until night time again!) I ate healthy all day. My mom bought a step so I decided to make my own routine from different moves I have learned at the gym and got a 40 minute work out from it! I turned the TV on to a music channel "party mix" so it had a great beat for me to work out to! I finished with sit ups and a 1 minute plank. I have added a plank to my routine now, I love doing planks! When I take the abs class at the gym, my roomies really struggle and can barley keep themselves up. I can go the whole minute no problem :p :) So after my workout, it was time for dinner. There is NO food in our house... so I went with a bagel and cream cheese for dinner. Well that lead to me wanting to eat like crap so I had a bowl of ice cream and some cookies and candy! UGH. BUT I am proud of myself because instead of going out and partying (which I had the option to do so) I stayed in for the night and even decided last minute to run a 5K Sunday morning!

Exactly a year ago, I ran for the arthritis foundation's jingle bell 5K at the county zoo. It was my first race ever and I finished in 29:57. So I went and ran it again this morning and finished 26:25 (8:30/mile pace)! And I've been tracking my calories all day and eating good. I was soo tempted to eat some candy or eat a cookie (being home sucks for that reason!) I even took a piece of candy out... put it back and made myself a small salad! My parents picked up a pizza for dinner tonight for the football game so I'm going to allow myself 2 or 3 pieces (we cut ours into squares) and that is IT! So I'm making that my goal for the day... no more than 3 pieces (I usually have about 5!)

Overall it was a better weekend than most! I could have eaten a lot of greasy, fried food when I went out... I could have partied and NOT done the 5K race... even though I did eat candy and ice cream I still feel pretty successful because I was good for the most part :) I will report back tomorrow morning and post my weigh in. I am keeping track for the November challenge and the weigh in's are on Monday's so that's new for me! Last Tuesday I weighed in at 145 lbs... I'm hoping to be down to 143 or 142 tomorrow! TOM this week too :(
 
Day 7 = success! I went a little over on calories because of having pizza for dinner, but I still stuck to only 3 pieces (I was actually satisfied with 2... but it's not often I get to eat pizza for dinner!)

Weigh in this morning was 143.2 lbs. That's a 1.8 lbs loss since last Tuesday! Pretty pleased to see that I didn't GAIN over the weekend, that's usually the case! I think Monday weigh ins are going to be a good thing for me because now I can't mess up on the weekend and have the mindset that "oh well I'll just work it back off during the week" ... now I have to be good on the weekend too! :)

PLAN FOR DAY 8:

Breakfast: Oatmeal (160), lowfat chocolate milk (160)
Snack: Apple (70)
Lunch: Wrap (light tomato basil wrap, hummus, feta, onion, tomato, lettuce, balsamic vinaigrette = 200)
Snack: Special K bar (90) juice box (10)
Dinner: Turkey burger w/onion, ketchup, yellow mustard on sandwich thin (270), pickle (10)
Exercise: 1 hour multi step class at the gym
Snack: Yogurt (80)
= 1,050 calories

GOAL OF THE DAY: Only eat what I have wrote down... no changes! Making up for some of the extra calories this weekend.

Good morning! Gotta make this quick, lots of last minute studying to do this morning before my exam :)

Yesterday's goal was to only eat what I wrote down for my meals... ACCOMPLISHED! Ok, my coworker had me try a bite of some sausage from Chicago while we were at work that her parents picked up, and I had to try the egg salad I made so see if it needed more of 'this' or more of 'that' but every meal I planned is exactly what I ate and I didn't change or add anything else! My roommate even invited me to a free dinner at a church on campus and my other roommate offered me some chocolate chip cookies - I declined both! My day's calories ended up at 1,185. I did not make it to the gym, BUT I really couldn't go. I had so much last minute studying to do... two exams this morning! I literally sat from 4PM to 10PM reviewing my notes! So I'm up extra early to do some reading.

PLAN FOR DAY 9:

Breakfast: Egg whites w/cheese on english muffin (200)
Snack: Banana (120), gatorade (130)
Lunch: Hummus w/crackers + chicken (125), apple (80), popcorn (65)
Snack: String cheese (80), almonds (90)
Exercise: 1 hour step class at the gym
Dinner: Mediterranean wrap (200), celery w/dip (40)
Snack: Fiber bar (120)
= 1,250

GOAL OF THE DAY: No snacking after the fiber bar. They are chocolate and I know my sweet tooth is going to want more but I am going to stop at that!

Good work turning down the tempting cookies!! You must not have :sifone: with the roomies last night! That is still my biggest downfall in the evenings. I just need water and I'm trying to keep telling myself that however last night I ran out of drinking water and my brita needs a good cleaning so I resorted to jello pudding cups - still not too bad.

And you are right, I didn't :sifone: with the roomies last night hahah. Luckily I went to bed before the guy roomies came downstairs with some of it or I'm sure I would have lost all control right there! Jello pudding cups are better than pizza, at least you resort to healthy snacking :) lol and yes you better get your booty to kettle bell tonight!... the hardest part is putting on the shoes and getting there!
