India's diary

 What a week I'm having! Today I was supposed to have an English test but the stupid teacher won't let me take it b/c I never went to his classes. I tried to explain that I don't need to go b/c they're doing very basic things and I'm a little more advanced than that, but he won't listen to me. He says that he highly doubts that my English is good 'cause if one doesn't go to his classes one can't know anything about English. Plus, he said he does very advanced things in his classes and he showed me the book. The dialogues were like "How old is your brother?" "Do you like ice cream?" !!!!!!!!!!!!! :eek2:
So, as my English is apparently far below that level, I'm going to have to go to classes for 6 weeks. :cuss::cuss::cuss:

I'm not saying my English is perfect but I think I mastered the family members description some time ago...:toetap05:

Lol, your written english is very good! I can't believe there's not a test or something you can take to skip the intro class. That teacher is an ego maniac.

I think that teacher thinks far too much of himself!!!
Your english is really good and i am in doubt better than mine when it comes to grammer etc

Sorry i havent dropped in for a while i have been so busy
How are you doing after the surgery and im not even going to comment on your collegue!!!

Hope your haveing a good day
Sarah

Hello India~
Thought I would drop in on ya and see how things are going.
Sounds like you got a real humdinger of a teacher.
I had a few of them kind of teachers in high school. They didn't leave the best impression.
Sorry you have to waste all that time.
Is there anyway that you can talk to someone who is in charge and see if you could just take the test that way?
Hope your having a great day. :biggrinjester:

That makes no sense, India!!! You're written English is very very good!! Sounds like that teacher is an Ego maniac!! Does going on sights like this help your English alot??

Lana It's an exam I have to take for my job. They make us do it so they're sure everybody has at least the basic notions of English. But I thought I could take the exam without taking the classes. Guess I was wrong. :banghead:

Sarah The surgery went well and now I'm perfectly ok. :D Too bad I've caught a nasty cold and a even nastier sorethroat. I wanted to start running this week but I can't go anywhere in these conditions. :( Oh well, I'll start next week.

Bella Thanks for stopping by! I know you're very busy these days. I've been reading about your problems with the scale...hehe, you tell them with such a positive irony that one can't help but smile. :)

Jessa Yes, of course forums like this one help me a lot, although the greatest help for my English were the two years I spent in Liverpool when I was 22. I also go to America often since I've got some friends living in Connecticut. ;)

1st month

Yay! I've made it to one month! I'm very proud of myself!

This week has been a gaining one. Weigh in was 84 Kg. The doctor says it's perfectly ok, since last week I've been losing more than usual b/c of the surgery. He says that since I was 84.5 the week before surgery and now I'm 84, I should not see it as a gain but as 1 lb loss. The surgery week must not be accounted for.
Anywho, I'm not worried at all. I've lost 3.2 kgs in one month and my goal was 2 kgs. So I'm happy!

I've got to exercise more though, 'cause eating less is not going to be enough anymore. Now I'm starting the real weight loss, and it's going to take all my commitment.

yesterday was very good food-wise. I resisted the fries my boyfriend was eating. Yay!
Today I'm going to skip carbs at lunch b/c tonight is Pizza night! Can't wait!

Have a great Sunday all of you!

Hugs
India

I'm pretty bummed up. This morning my weight was 84.3 kgs. How can this be? I haven't cheated all week. Yesterday night I ate pizza but it was a home made one, with way less fats than bought ones, and the topping was only vegetables. Plus, I hadn't had any carbs all day.
Why do I keep gaining instead of losing? I hope this is just water weight and that it'll go away soon.
I wanted to reach my first mini goal of 5 kg by Vday but I guess I'm not going to make it.:(

You'll make it, just don't give up hope! :) It might be water weight, and isn't the pizza crust always bad for you no matter what? It could still be the effects of the surgery, and remember, weight will always go up and down.

Why didn't you have any carbs all day? I'm not really a believer of low-carb/no-carb diets, everything in moderation and as long as calories out > calories in.

Cheers! :)

Thanks for your kind words Geovicsha.

I don't believe in low carbs diet as well, I simply skipped my lunch carbs b/c I was having an extra carbs dinner :D

Mistery solved

Yes, I'm dumb. I was almost on the point of binging out of revenge to my stupid body that doesn't want to lose weight. Then, fortunately, I got the urge to weigh myself again. And the scale read 83.7 kgs, a little more than 1 lb less. How can this be? The answer is quite easy. I usually weigh in my underwear, but since I have a bad cold this morning I weighed with a t-shirt on. I thought it was a very light one. Guess it wasn't, 'cause taking it off made the difference. Mistery solved, crisis passed.

Hey don't get yourself down!
It could be any number of things. My weight popped up to 191 over the weekend. And I didn't waiver from my foods either. Mine is most likely due to lack of sleep which causes stress on the body. And since I work in a freezer I tend to not drink all my water. So it will come back down.
Maybe the sauce in the pizza had some salt?

I solved the mistery this morning. I posted the solution in the last page. It was me being quite dumb...:p

Lol, I'm glad it was the t-shirt and that you didn't end up binging! Though you know, there are going to be weeks where despite your best efforts you'll end up with a higher weight than you started the week with. Sometimes it's water weight, sometimes it's muscle gain. Keep in mind how you *feel* about getting healthy and how you look, not just what the scale tell you.

Hi guys!
I have only a little time but wanted to share something with you: today I was able to fit in a pair of jeans I haven't been wearing since last year! Yay!!! I'm so happy!
