Indian Summer's Diary

Right, First WLF weigh in, n not great, 1lb ON, boooooo!! Although, its showed me i cant mess about at this, I HAVE TO BE COMMITED. And that is exactly what I shall be, it's a beautiful day, so I'm gonna walk into Uni, i think its 2 miles or more, takes about 40mins to walk, but today Im gonna walk a bit faster n see how long it takes. I am gonna take a salad lunch n healthy snacks into uni, and a litre bottle of water, I HATE BUYING WATER!! I NEED to get some fruit in, and also a tape measure.

Its gonna be a great week, Im gonna make it a great week :)

Right, off to start my may 2lb challenge too, I'm so up for that!! (well this week I WANT 3, I hate being in the 15 stone bracket!!)

You sound very strong and detemrined and have set specific goals-that's the way to do it! Just stay strong when the temptation comes along...
 
Kez, wish I'd seen your 'stay strong when the temptation comes along' line before I left the house this morning, ha ha ha!!!!

Today so far......

Banana and homemade forestfruit and unsweetened orange juice smoothie.

Walked into uni 35mins good pace bopping along to cascadas album (you cant beat cheesy dance to walk too!!)

Took with me ham salad (no dressing, n cut all fat off the ham) and litre water. Had these at Lunch.

Then the problems began!! Didnt have healthy snacks in, and all my mates were eating pizza/cookies/crisps/drinking beer, and im not strong enough to just eat a salad! So teh damage, a flap jack, a small slice of margarita pizza and 2g&ts, whoops!!

Walked home in 30 mins, was hot n sweaty when i got home so must have done a little good!

now, a good for you less than 3% fat fishpie is in the oven, having it with brocolli and carrots.

Got sunflower seeds to snack on later if nec.

Gonna do some sit ups/bum and thigh execises later this evening.

Now, getting in healthy snacks and fruit is an emergency!!

Hmmm, still in high spirits, despite pizza n flap jack set back, boy were they tasty!!

Hmmm classic dieters mistake! Starve yourself and get too hungry and cave!

Try next time putting some wholewheat pasta and extra light mayo/salad cream on the salad. And then have a banana and a yogurt as well! That'll keep you full enough to resist, and you'll end up eating way fewer calories than you would if you start of by restricting calories too much!
 
Yeah, I wasnt purposefully starving myself, I love food too much to do that, I just took what i could get ready in time with what i had in the firdge, n that was it!! N unfortunately, my messed up relationship with all foods bad would still have led to the need for pizza n flap jack no matter how full i was!! Next time, I am NOT going in that bloody bar at lunchtime again til I have a more rational relationship with unhealthy foods!!

A new day, still feeling positive!!

My head is up for it, my body blooming well aches n my feet are a mess, so, taking it easyish today, will do a little workout dvd later, and also have work, and will do 6 hours on me feet in stread of slouched in a chair. no sunshine today, which is sad, but gotta crack on with my revision, so prob a good thing really!!!

Hey I am also 22, final year at uni, but in London. I have found that over the past 2 weeks or so (I have been on this for 3 weeks) I have lost my interest in the bad for your foods almost completely.
I did a very strict change in diet, stopping to eat bread, anything sugared, and mostly anything processed, I cook most meals an only eat 1 meal a day, with lots of fruit and fresh veggies as snacks and for lunch (5 a day... I laugh at you! I have like 10 a day). Everyone here told me I was crazy for going cold turkey on so much food, but I feel alright and have had almost no choc, no pizza no bread (except for tiny amounts) and I feel great.

For the water thing: i squeeze half a lemon per each litre of water, 1) makes it taste better, 2) feels fresher and 3) is supposed to be slightly slimming... so an all gain no harm deal there!

Ok I am gonna go back to revise, still have 3 exams and have done barely anything for them,

Kez, the weather was pants up here today!!

Well, today has been odd. Havent eaten enough, n defo not the right things. But I just dont fancy healthy food, n i cant force feed myself stuff just cos its healthy.

Didnt do the dvd, BAD KATO, but my feet were hurting and keeping off them for one day means they should be ok to walk, workout and all the rest of it on by tomora, whereas if i had been on them much today i could have made them real nasty.

Tomora will be a big exercise day. N hopefully a big lot of healthy food day too, I so want this, but aint showing it in my actions!!

Good morning Diary!!

Well, I am very happy this morning, woke up feeling up for it again, im not used to that!

Also did a naughty thing n got on the scales, 1lb loss since monday, am determined to add another two to that by next monday, actually got a bit of a fruit craving, so once im ready gonna go buy some in, then walk to uni, although its not sunny up here again, boo!! Can feel my belly muscles screaming to get out this morning, shows yesterdays toning sesh did something I hope, gonna just do that twice a week to start with i reckon, and areobic five days. I WILL DO THIS, YAY!!!!

Gonna be burning masses of nervous energy today as well, dreading the match tonight, eeekkkk!!!

TODAY'S REVIEW

9am Brekkie - Ham 2 egg omelette (1 teaspoon oil)

11.40am - rice crispy cake in uni cafe

4.30pm - small jacket spud with tuna and salad

5.30pm - 2 satsumas

7.15pm - pasta n sauce packet meal 450kals, 8g fat

9.45pm - healthy balance muller yoghurt.

Been a bizarre day again food wise, think i really need to start planning what i will eat and stick to it, eating is all over the place.

Exercise - 1hour20mins walking, to uni and back (via the fruit stall)

Hmmm so, I didnt meet my goals, i did the uni walking, I didnt do davina again, which I am annoyed about, am too blooming lazy! i am gonna move it to do it in a morning i think, as soon as i get up before brekkie, that way I cant be too busy to do it throughout the day, will try get up n do it then tomora, not sure i'll manage tho! I had a rice crispy cake in uni, but had nothing bad with the football, i did go to the shop n get fruit n spuds.

All in all not toooooo bad, still tons of room for improvement, but i will get there, the main thing is i've been learning this new lifestyle for three weeks now, and i am more up for it now than ever. normally by now I would be getting board and giving up, but this time, I can identify my mistakes, see where i can improve further, and work towards it, this is a long term thing, so not being perfect at the beginning is no great worry, I can really imagine a fit healthy and slim me, and I cant wait!!

Good Morning!!

no chance of me doing a dvd workout in the morning, i've decided!! I will fit it in later on today though.

Just about to have brekkie, porridge with strawberrie n narnie smoothie i think... mmmm then make lunch for uni n take enough in with me so i wont snack on 'bad' foods. walking in, even though its freezing out there this morning, bloody north east!! This evening donna use exercise as revision breaks, I AM!!

Morning!

I'm about to do Davina workout (after I've posted ina few diaries lol!)

I like doing it in the morning, it wakes me up and gets it out of the way! I find the longer I leave it the more likely I am not to do it.

Yesterday looks like it was a good day to me! you would def. have had a good deficit. Are you counting cals?
 
No cal counting here, I wouldnt know where to start, we have no scales in the house, and i have no idea how to judge the weights of stuff so couldnt do it accurately and i think guessing is worse than not doing it at all. If i dont start losing weight doing this way, I will start doing proper cal counting soon, but gonna give it a couple more weeks as it is n see what happens.

Well today so far the food thing is going great, although i've just had tea so got a long evening ahead without reaching for anything naughty, but i have to find me willpower at some point, so hopefully that will be today. Got stacks of uni work to do to keep me busy, but that isnt the same as a big fat slice of choccie cake lol

Exercise has been an issue, I hate my feet. Im gonna invest in some new insoles, but unfortunately they dont normally make a difference, my dad has the exact same issue, bloody genes!! I had to get the bus to uni, but walked home, then did half a workout but had to stop cos they were killing me. So, gonna do a toning session later, and probably have to take the bus one way to uni tomora too, which is annoying. If i treat them kindly it is better in the long run, when i have been fit n healthy before they have got used to me walking on them little by little n eventually been fine, obviously losing weight will help with this too, so kinda a vicious circle.

Hmmmm early night for me tonight I think, otherwise this choccie craving is gonna kill me!!!

Try a lo cal hot choc to kill the choccie craving :)

Kudos on the exercise you did manage, despite your feet! What is wrong with your feet? Maybe you could do cycling or something like that which is not lots of impact!

I just get horrid mahusive blisters on the soles of them, they dont pop cos of the thick skin, but cause immense amounts of pain if they get really big, well i say immense, think i have the lowest pain threashold ever, remind me not to have kids lol biking would help, but, i dont have a bike!! In a couple of weeks they'll be fine, I think!!

I dont like hot choccie, im odd lol

So far hollyoaks has got me over the need, thank god Will has been found out i say!!

Right, off to do some of my assignment now, YAWN!!!

Pretty good day, wish i'd managed not had the fish but I still cant quite stop my evening eating, and I HAD NO CHOCCIE/CAKES/CRISPSetc so am pretty impressed!!

TODAY:
My feet are still sore, but think I'll walk slowly into uni (as the weather is forecasting rain for next week so it'll be more difficult n im really into it now!) But may bus it home, see how they go.

Tonight I am out with a pal I lived with in India, and I half thought about cancelling to avoid temptation, but I cant do that, I have a life to live as well as weight to lose!! Gonna have g&ts instead of pints of lager, *sob* n have some healthy munchies in my bag to avoid crisps, AND the saving grace, we are meeting up early so will be home early, which should dispell the need for kebab. God, planning this night out is like a military operation!!

Just about to have a ham omelette for brekkie, mmmmmm starving!! Making a left over chicken tikka salad for lunch n home made dahl (lentils n veg) for tea......

Morning All,

Well yesterday night i went a bit mad on the lager, doh doh doh!! Must of had 6or7pints over the eating, but ended up at a house party whre there were trays of sandwichs, sausages, pastries, cakes, puddings everything bad, and i had one little sausage roll n thats all!! Was pretty proud of myself on that front if not the lager! Also no take out or anything on the way home, or munchies when i got in.

eekk a pretty unhealthy day but far far better than last friday, so things are slowly improving!!

Today im workin 12.30-10 so taking a salad tea in with me n having something yummy before i go in, then something when i leave, not sure what yet tho, i got hangover munchies so not steppin in the kitchen til they've gone!!
