Indestructible rope ?

Hi,

A friend of mine who is a veteran fitness trainer has invented a special rope that he claims is almost indestructable. It has wooden handles and the rope is made of some kind of plastic that he is not willing to disclose.

He says it does not kink, twist or scratch, is very flexible and the dream of every skipper. He can offer a 5-year guarantee even if you are a daily user and wants to sell it for $15 a piece.

Is it worth me helping him promote these ropes, or does something comparable already exist in the market ?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sid

Yes, something comparable does exist. It's called the "Heavyrope", and is available in a variety of thickness, from around the size of a dime to around the size of a quarter. Each of these ropes also weigh a different amount, from one pound up to an immense six pounds. It's made of a thick vulcanized rubber case filled with a sand-like substance. From what I've seen, unless you get a hacksaw and go to town on it, it's not going to break for anything. Hope that helps you!

A dime sounds big.

This rope is only around 5mm (1/4") and appears to have either an air core or else is solid.

Can you provide me with a link or a market price for the Heavyrope ?

Thanks,

Skippy

Certainly! This is the 1lb. rope. They run from about 40 dollars for the small ones to about 60 dollars for the big, heavy ones.

I take pride in wearing out a leather rope! why in the heck would you want to take that away! VERY FEW will know the feeling of having handles that give lil splinters, and a rope that inspires you to keep skipping because it seems like it is about to break.

I WOULDN'T WANT ONE!

there are my .02
