incorrect form in dumbbell press?

i have a question about dumbbbell presses...im not sure if im doing anything wrong or not, but when i finish a set, its my arms that are tired, and i dont feel a thing in my chest...is there a common reason for this?

Are you talking about DB bench presses or DB shoulder presses?

Two possible reasons:

1. Your arms are the weakest in the chain.
2. You need to retract your scapulae, squeeze them together and drive through them and that should help to recruit the pecs more.

I agree with number 1. This is not uncommon is a chest press.

keep doing the exersice. the arms will get stronger. personally i never really feel any type of chest press in my chest, not in my arms either, but they still do work.

I agree with everthing above, that's all really good feedback. Another suggestion is to concentrate on using your pecs to push the weight up. it sounds simple but it does work. Mechanically speaking, it's the pec muscles that are responsible for all pressing motions. Arm weakness can be a factor because doing the standard bench press definitely incorporates your triceps as well. Doing dumbell flys isolates the pecs more.
