inches, not weight?

i have noticed over the holidays, that i have lost 7lbs! i was 180, now 173! so im, getting closer to my goal. BUT... i have a question. i have worn jeans that are 32x30's forever! but i cant seem to keep my pants up lately. i mean when i was 165 i was in 32's and when i was 180 a month ago i was in 32's. that must mean im loosing inches, right? then why am i not loosing the weight that fast? any ideas? can you loose inches, not weight?

Well old jeans do sometimes stretch... Or you could mostly be losing weight from your midsection, and putting on some muscle... Could be any or any combination, your best bet is to get a caliper and take your bf% to measure progress.

I hate that too, so I just stuff my pants with bubble wrap so they fit :D

You can't control where you lose your weight, your body has a certain way of storing and getting rid of your fat... and you could be loosing the weight like mreik said and putting on muscle, muscle weighs more than fat, plus it depends on when you weigh yourself, water weight, food consumption, if you worked out that day or not, etc...

Don't worry about your weight! as you can tell you're body is naturally losing what it wants to... Just watch your percent body fat like mreik said.. he's one smart fellow :)
