In the Middle of the Night

People say it's a good idea to wake up in the middle of the night to have a protein shake or whatnot. Thing is, i drink at least 2 cups of milk right before i go to sleep. Should i still wake up in the middle of the night for like 2 more glasses or milk? Or will the casein from the 2 i had before i went to bed last me all night?
 
if you were to wake up in the middle of the night to drink something (i definatly swear by this) make it milk, not a shake. most shakes are whey, unless you're getting one that is specifically for nighttime($$).. spockafina is right, the calories help, but i think it's main purpose is to keep your body in an anabolic state..
 
This is one of those fanatical bodybuilding things. If you don't even have a lead body and big muscles yet, I'd focus on the basics before you go all out and do this.

And sleep is important. I'd recommend using a timed-release, PM protein that will last you all night.
 
Well i've been workin out for about 3 months now so i thought i'd start doing this. But i also heard it would be bad to interrupt your sleep.
