I'm thirteen and want to improve!

Hello,

I am a thirteen-year-old girl, nearly fourteen, and basically want to improve my muscle. I am in good shape, flat stomach, curvy for thirteen, I can lift a bag of 7.5kg potatoes up the stairs with ease. I have a little routine, like 50 sit-ups a day, three circuits round the block of jogging etc.

I am really rubbish at push-ups, but try anyway to do three a day. I can do one chin-up, buts that about all. I keep pushing my arm muscles and it seems I’m improving, like I could only do two press-ups, now three, sometimes four etc.

I can sort-of see a set of two abs, were I’ve really been pushing it. I weigh 7.5 stone, am 5.3” tall and strong.

I play tennis a lot, swim, horse-ride and spend my job hours cleaning, bending, twisting into all different cage sizes, sweeping, bathing strong monitor lizards etc.

I climb the stairs plenty during the day, move tanks, walk and run at least an hour a day. Basically I am an active, fittish thirteen- year-old, that would like a fitness routine that I can execute daily. I don’t know any fancy ways about doing exercise, but I feel generally good, and during exercise I drink water a lot.

I’ve had eczema since I was seven, and it has improved a lot since all my effort into muscle workouts, and I’d like a proper routine I can rely on. It’s just I don’t know how to go about it. I’m too young to go to gyms, though I’d love to, so anything recommended would have to be home-style.

Oh, and I love my food. I generally eat scrambled eggs with toast in the morning, or some musli, and supper is generally pasta, with cream and cheese. But lunch is my main meal, usually a baguette sandwich with bacon, lettuce, tomatoes and a bowl of steaming veggies! (I love broccoli).

I know I eat well, but I console myself with I’m not fat and I burn it of with my energy I expend.

If any of you could rack up a fitness routine that would help in all aspects of my body would be great!

Thank-you-all!

You're eating appropriately for your activity levels, don't worry about that. Eggs, museli, sandwiches and broccoli are all good, anyway.

As far as exercise goes, I could write out some home-based exercise routine, but I'm feeling tired and lazy, so I'll recommend this, instead - do all of the following:

Basically, what you'll be doing is:

On your training days, do all that is required for the day for squats. Then do push ups. Then pull ups. Then, if you have any energy left-over, do sit ups. Simple structure: legs, push, pull, core. Make sense? Good? Good.

Okay,

What I usually do, (and i'm looking to increase?):

15mins of intense work-out:

Push ups, Ab crunches, side ab crunches, sit ups, dumbbell squats, sits etc;. And to finish with speed stair climbing.

Then 30mins of:

More gentle cardio work, up to 3000 step ups, just constantly moving and raising heart beat for that time.

I will introduce your mentioned work-outs and push my intense work out time to 30mins, so I can do them all. I still feel I have to much energy after.

Thanks!
