I'm new :D

October 24th

Is it normal to be in such a horrible mood? I feel like yelling at everyone around me. Granted I have been having problems with my roommate and her boyfriend taking over the whole place. (Here boyfriend does not live here) I can barly spend any time outside of my bedroom because she'll glare at me or tell me to clean up my crap. (She's the messy one, I'm known for obsessivly cleaning) Things just get so frustrating some times, and she's bipolar so if I ever dare to talk to her about anything, all hell breaks loose.

I feel like everything is going pretty smoothly, other then my silly mood swings. But I think those are just from being female. My meals have been pretty good, though I have a hard time hitting above 1300 calories.

Breakfast usually consist of a smoothie, with either eggs, oatmeal, or peanut butter toast.

Lunch...is usually skipped. Other then Tuesday and Thursday. Today I had left over pizza that I made a few days ago.

Dinner is usually smoothie and what ever/if I make anything.

But I'm never hungry. What should I do? Yesterday my calorie intake was 840.

I feel I'm eating ok, but I find it hard to work out other then my walking to and from school. Is walking enough for now? I'll try and do a work out later.

I think you should force yourself to eat honestly. Eating too little can cause your body to backfire into survival mode and make you gain more weight. At the very most you should be at a 500 calorie deficit to be safe.

Your exercise is fine to maintain. 2 Miles isn't exactly fat burning though, so don't expect to lose weight too fast without a good cardio session.

Good job so far though, and I'm so jealous that you can handle only 800 calories. If I don't reach 1700 calories a day my body has a fit. xD

I'll work on eating more and stuffing some more healthy, but calorie rich foods into my diet. I really want to try jogging around town! But I live in a downtown area that's always really busy and I'm so scared of looking floppy and weird. Or like that 'one fat lady runny'. I'd join a gym...if I had the money, once again I live downtown, and don't have a car, so any gyms within walking distances are very very expensive and fancy with tons of stuff I don't need. We have a HUGE ymca a little further out that I would need to take a bus to, but it's still $50 a month. And being a student, that's half my monthy budget.

I am working on starting a game club at my school and would love to do something like 'zombie hunting', you know, nerf guns and zombies = win. I could do a bit of a sub group to start working out. At least I hope I can!

Anyway, plan for today, Got up at 7, ad breakfast of 100 cal oatmeal, and some water. I don't understand how I just kinda stopped being hungry, it so weird! But yeah, I never have the urge to eat. Lunch is going to be popcorn chicken with cooked spinach. Dinner will be a tortallining spinach soup.

I have an hour long strength workout plan, half after class, half before bed.

How in the world did I gain 2 pounds!? This is frustrating and it's only been my first week. :( I didn't think that could happen that fast. Especially since I've been working out so much recently, and I've even been running.

Sad.

But I'll have to try even harder today for my official weigh in tomorrow.

Don't worry about it, It's probably just retention weight if you drank a lot of water or had something to eat before.

So, I weighted myself this morning and got 180, I'll be ok with gaining .2 pounds. Not happy, but it's ok, could be a lot worse.

I always see a gain after I've been working out hard, especially when it's a new routine. Your muscles are repairing and growing which means they will swell, also you're building muscle which is very dense, so even a little bit will show an increase on the scale. I know how discouraging it is to put in the effort and not see the results right away, but try to not let it deter you. Just keep at it and give it a few days, I'm sure you'll see that number go down. You might want to start taking your measurements too, if you're working hard you're sure to be losing inches, I know it really motivates me when the scale numbers aren't going my way. Give it time and good luck :)

Hey Janette! I hope you're doing well with your diet. Don't be encouraged by gains either, just keep going and you'll see results sooner or later (the .2 lbs seem like a fluctuation anyway).

November 2ed

Things have been going good! I've been running, about 2 times a week for a mile. It's not much, but it's nice to know that I'll get better at it soon. Even though I have a lot going on at school, and I'm getting everything together for a Game Club that I'm starting on the 8th, I've been eating really well. Today I'm shooting for no carbs/bread. Lets see how this goes!

Yeeeeaaaaah more gamers, me and RadioActive were getting lonely!

Welcome to the forum, glad you're setting goals and prizes for yourself, that's really good motivation. Learn to calorie count, as long as you keep your calories in the right place you can lose weight easily, I've lost 50lbs now with no real exercise or anything, just keeping my diet right.

YAY GAMERS! WOOOO

lol, yeah. I've been working on getting game club started at my college, so I've been working on that. I find it pretty easy to keep track of my foods. I've been keeping my fridge only stocked with fresh fruits and veggies, and extra lean turkey for taco night! (I suck at cooking, except tacos). I hope I lose at least 2 pounds this week! Our first game club meeting is coming up on the 8th, and it's gonna be surrounded by pizza! I'm so worried that I'm going to fall into the pizza trap and eat some. But a slice can't be all that bad for you.

I've still been keeping up with working out a bit. Ran last night for a mile with my boyfriend (He is so much more supportive then I thought he would be, we've actually grown stronger in the past few weeks then we have in a while)

Frosteh, thanks for saying how you lost 50! That is really motivating! I know it's going to be hard, but hey, I've gotta be super awesome!

Oh! I'm also shooting to lose the weight by late march not only for my 21st birthday, but I also have a fashion show on the 23ed. So it'll be great to not fit into my dress!

No problem rinnanine, I'll be honestly my diet of food isn't really that healthy per se, you can actually have a low cal diet with lots of unhealthy foods, it's helpful to think of health and diet as 2 different things, I'm sure there's benefits to your diet to make sure you're in good health but losing fat isn't really reliant on being healthy.

Losing fat is all about the calorie balance, I eat pizzas, ribs, chicken wings, steak, chips, gammon, bacon etc, you just have to eat it in the right amounts, I tend to have no breakfast and then only a very lite lunch and save up a lot of calories for lunch where I can have steak and chips or even order a takeaway, just keep the cals right and you'll lose weight, it doesn't matter if the cals are coming from veg or donuts, although you wont get many donuts into a restricted calorie diet so you'll need to balance your food so that you're not hungry all the time.

Diet for me has been pretty painless once I worked it all out, I stopped going the absolute health freak route, afterall I'm not interested in how far I can run or how long I can play football since I'm not active, don't play sports, I just game all the time and do IT at work. I stopped doing any real exercise and managed to find a good balance between yummy foods and the calories in them, things like diet soda, low calorie pizzas, trimming the fat from meat, getting low cal variants of stuff that's otherwise super high calorie.

I generally try and eat healhy by having some fruit every day and having veg with most meals but otherwise my eating habbits are very much against the grain of what most "experts would advise", I eat heavily unbalanced meals, skip breakfast, eat fatty foods and drink loads of soda, eat right before bed, the whole lot...i just keep my cals right and the weight is steadily coming off.

Yay, congrats on 2lbs gone!! That's awesome!! Good luck getting to your goal by your birthday too, I'm doing the same thing... my birthday is in Feb! Though it's not a milestone one like 21... have you planned something for your birthday?

November 10th

I don't really have anything planned as of now, but I don't want to put to much stress onto myself for finishing my weight loss in a too specific point of time.

I've been weighing myself every day but I can't seem to get below 178/9 ish. I've uped my cardio/workouts to an hour and lowered my food (Not on purpous, I just run around a lot and forget. I'm still not feeling hungry) So, I'm going to do the Insanity Challenge. It's a 60 day super intense dvd workout system.

I won't weight myself untill sunday, so lets see how the next 60 days of my life go!
