I'm Back, and so is the fat.

Hey guys,

Wow, I'm back to stage one.

I came here over two years ago seeking advice on losing weight, which worked really well. Now that time has passed, getting a new job, starting a social life, and generally growing up a bit has put me back up in those kg's!

I know what I've been doing wrong, which is what I'm focusing on for the beginning:

Mistake One
I've got a new job now that works late hours, usually working around 4-11pm, which means no proper dinner before work, and eating when I get home, or, if I get hungry all there is to eat is a burger and chips from across the road.

Mistake Two
Along with the eating, I have also been drinking a lot. Bourbon and cola's mainly, and sometimes beer. I will be honest and say I believe I am on the road to being an alcoholic. These drinks are not only expensive, they are high in sugar and calories, and definaly don't do much good to your internal organs.

Mistake Three
I'm too lazy, it's time to get up and do something.

Starting Weight/Dimensions (oh dear)

Weight: 90.1 KG
Belly: 98cm
Waist: 102cm
Thigh: 61cm
Chin Status: Double
Height: 186cm
BMI: 26

My Target: 78KG (I want to be below 80KG, this is where I saw myself at it's best)

So starting today, no more late night meals, my idea is to bring a healthy dinner to work (tips?), no more drinking at night, and moving into exercise again.

Start Date: 9th February 2011
Target date: May 12th 2011 (girlfriends birthday party).
Time: 3 Months
KG/Month Target: 4+

Any tips from people who work/have worked night shifts where meals are harder than usual would be great help.

Thanks guys!

Welcome back!
Sounds like you have a good start on things by just knowing where your mistakes lie. Good luck in changing those to healthier choices!

Hi Steven!

Nice to see that you are back and are on the road to good health :) My husband has about the same schedule as you and we are accustomed to with it. What time do you usually go to sleep? The reason I ask is if you are working the late shift, late night eating is inevitable. Think of it like people on a regular schedule, they often have dinner when they come home from work. I think a good idea is what you have already outlined...to carry healthy things with you to eat at work, etc. Check out the recipe section here, they have tons of healthy things you can take with you.

All the best!
