I'm a waitress...

I am a server at a restaurant. I work with and smell delicious food on a daily basis. At home, in class, and around friends, I eat healthy. However, at work, there is endless high sodium and high calorie soups and 150 calorie breadsticks available all the time. Not to mention, chocolate mints.

When it's slow I get bored and resort to food to kill my boredom. Does anyone else here work with food for a living? This is my one downfall when it comes to eating healthy. Being a waitress does have its benefits though, I am constantly moving around and lifting heavy trays, so I get some good exercise.

Welcome to the forum. I'm not a waitress but I wanted to say hi just the same. That sounds incredibly hard to be around all that fattening food. I feel for you, but you'll just have to remain disciplined and maybe allow yourself one treat while there just so you dont get discouraged and give up (keep it in your calorie allotment for the day)?

hello i jus wanted to stop by and say HEY:waving: and that :iagree:with Blancita....you need to try to save some cals. for when you go to work, or try eatting before you go to work and bring some snacks with you like protein bars or fruit!! Good luck!!

You are a brave one for working in the food industry.... not only putting up with customers, working nights/weekends/holidays, but constantly being around food. Good luck with your goals. I'd try keeping a large glass of water with a straw around so that you put that in your mouth before food... but I'm sure you'll be bikini ready for summer in no time:)
