I'm a good person inside and out!

Hi Iwannabthin,

I'm on xanax, prilosic,2 stool softners,vicodin, nasaquart, albuteral. It's a lot, trying to get off of some of them. My xanax is for my swallowine/eating. Due to my neck surgery i have some scar tissue by my throat and i also have a titanium plate right behind my throat. The titanium plate is bothering me when I swallow anything hard, like meats, crackers, cookies etc. This type of food gets stuck in my throat area, so xanax helps relax my throat and neck muscles. This has been going on since Sept. The vicodin is for the pain in my neck, have only used it once this week, am trying to deal with the pain without this med!! Prilosic is for my acid reflux, which also does not help my throat,lol. And the nasaquart and albuteral are for my sinus and asthma. The doc but me on the stool softners because of all the meds I'm on. Hope this all makes sense?!

Anyways thanks for the support!! I'm going to go walking again this morning!!
 
Walked 1 hr. this morning for a little over 3 miles. Also cooked, cleaned and did laundry for 1 1/2 hours this morning! Had cranberry juice 4 0z. Pure kind for 25 cal. and oatmeal for 120 cal. also drank 32 oz. of water so far this morning, great start!! Going to go have some cottage cheese as a snack.

Also lifted 2 lb. weights this morning using arm movements, bi's, tri's, over my head lifting too. Did 3 sets of 25 per movement. First time since surgery that I have done that. I little sore but not to bad!:party:

Tomorrow I'm going to work out my legs and calves.

Noticed I feel awake after i exercise, maybe that's what I need to get my blood flowing?!
 
Busy day today! Going out tonight, drinking cal. free items. Unable to work out today, but will tomorrow. Went to the library and got a few interesting books.

This is what I learned today. The science behind the principle of calorie balance. One lb. of fat is equivalent to 3,500 calories. For every 3,500 calories you cut, your weight will drop 1 lb.

I'm heading to the indoor farmer's market to stock up on veggies and fruit. Did not do to well last night, had two fruity cocktail drinks, and 3 cherry bomber shots, ugh!! At least I enjoyed myself, comedian was hilarious, but did have a water and 4 diet sodas, to go with the drinks. Eating was fine though. Will have to pick it up a notch this weekend.

Did not take meds yesterday, so back on them today, neck hurt pretty bad last night, but wanted to have a drink.

Anyways recipe for tonight's dinner
Sesame Chicken Salad

1 lb. chicken breast boneless and skinless, cut into thin strips
3 tbsp. teriyaki sauce
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1 pkg. (16 oz.) coleslaw
1 can (5 oz.) Oriental fries noodles
1/2 cup fat free honey dijon salad dressing

Toss chicken and teriyaki sauce in shallow bowl. Let stand 10 min.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Place sesame seeds on waxed paper. Roll chicken in sesame seeds
Bake on baking sheet for 10 min. turning once, make sure chicken is no longer pink.

Divide cole slaw into 4 servings, place chicken on top drizzle w/ dressing and noodles.

Off to store!!
 
Not feeling the best today, but did get a little workout in. Walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes and did a leg workout. Reading books on health and learned that processed foods are really bad for your system. Going to try cooking more from scratch and see if this helps to regulate me, and helps w/ my acid reflux and asthma. Went to store and stock up on fruits and veggies and bought dried fruit to snack on. Want to feel healthier and lose weight. Going to try meditation and yoga, going to pick up more books at the library tomorrow.
 
Processed foods tend to be higher in sodium and lower in nutrients, but they have their uses.

Watch out for that dried fruit as a snack. Tasty and nutritious, but very very calorie-dense. (Some fruits are also sweetened with sugar when they're dried - cranberries, pineapple, and mango, for instance.)

I eat the dried fruit instead of grabbing a cupcake, donut or cookies. I only take a few pieces at a time. I'll have to watch myself when eating this, as too not over do it!
 
Just came back from doctor and got some good news! My breathing sounds a lot better! Doc said my weight loss so far has a great impact on my asthma! Hmmm, another 30 lbs. and maybe I can throw away my inhaler!!!??? Wouldn't that be great!!

Doc said my weight should be around 125-135 lbs. considering my age, height and bone structure. He said if I can lose this extra weight slowly and keep it off I may indeed be able to get rid of a few meds. for my asthma, my chronic pain, and even my acid reflux! Wow, there is hope!!

Going to go walk the treadmill and stair stepping afterwards!

By the way "Go Packers!!" Very excited about Sunday's game!!:party:
 
Ending today w/walking on treadmill for 1 hour and stairstepping for 15 min. Drank 5 -12 oz. glasses of water w/lemon in it. Starting tomorrow I am cutting back on soda, allowing myself 3 cans a week. Slowly trying to eliminate soda all together. Also am adding on 10 minutes a day for walking. Meaning this week I will walk for 1 hour and 10 minutes, and see how I am next week Tuesday.

Off to read other threads!
 
Rather than increasing your time, you might try increasing the speed a bit. If you were struggling with 10 or 15 minutes, I'd vote for more time, but an hour is a long time to do any one thing.

Question what will a faster speed do? Up my metabolism, burn more calories? Just wondering?! Thanks!
 
Did treadmill for 30 min. this a.m. at 3.4 and 3 incline, trying to change it up a bit. Will do more treadmill tonight. Drinking more water, going to the bathroom a lot though,lol. Going to make chicken fajitas and mango salsa for dinner tonight. Biggest Loser on tonight!:hurray:
 
Ok, just a heads up for myself, mango salsa totally addicting! Wow! Also am getting cravings for veggies a lot more lately. Fruit too! Did break down and have 1/2 can of diet 7 up tonight, but did follow that with 12 oz. of water w/lemon in it. Eating more fiber helps out my digestive system. Love walking on the treadmill, did 30 min. in a.m. and planning on another 30 min. tonight w/15 min. on stairstepper. Sleeping a lot better lately. Could be from all of the exercising and trying to eat a lot better. Need to find a snack to fill up my sweet cravings though. Need to go to the store and check out low fat icees or something like that. Having Packer Party on Sunday night, so am going to have to watch calories for the next few days and exercise a little more!
 
Snowing and cold here this morning. Running errands and then coming home to exercise a bit.

Need to up my water intake, finding it hard to drink 96 oz. of water. I get full fast. Like it with lemon in it, though.

Find that exercising wakes me up a bit, but am getting really tired at night.

Bought a book on Yoga, sounds peaceful and relaxing, might read mor on it and try it out.
 
I hate cold days here! I just don't even want to leave the house. But I have a yoga tape for abs that I will do. My husband makes fun of me for it all the time...it features an Asian man in a little black speedo and it seems like there are a lot of crotch shots and pelvic thrusts in the video! But no matter, it is a great abdominal workout! Good luck with your book!
 
Ok, officially weighed in this morning. Weighed in at 157.4 lbs. While this is down a bit, why is it that other people can lose so much so fast and weekly?!!! Going to have to try walking a bit faster on the treadmill and really up my water? Not sure why I'm having a lull right now??? Back from running my errands. going to look at thread for few minutes then head to the treadmill!

I'm picturing the man in your video in a speedo,lol. My book talks about yoga, being at peace w/yourself and others, being a vegetarian, etc. Very interesting. Think tomorrow I might try a few moves. No men in speedos in my book though.

wow you have jumped on the exercise bandwagon yaaaayyyyyy....i just got home from work and a competition for my dtrs skating i am not in the mood...i walked the mall yesterday...spent 30 bucks....i dont think i should stop and shop while walking.

my computer crashed..i am on an old dinosaur until i get mine up and running again.

i love the packers!!! they are who i want to win it all this year. i hope the chargers beat the pats...(boo pats...).....i love brett favre....yes i am a football fan.....

Otherwise freezing here today!! It is 5 degrees out right now at 10 a.m. central time, with a wind chill of -14 degrees! FREEZING!! Tomorrow high of -1 degrees with a wind chill of -25 to -35, ugh!!!! Really makes me wish I lived some where warm.lol.:nopity:I'm sure some one is playing a small violin for me right,lol!!!

Anyways, tried the soy milk today, actually liked it! Kudos to Karebare!! Doing laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning house, then picking up youngest, he's out of school early, then hopefully will get on treadmill. Goal is to get at least 30 min. on treadmill today.

Karebare, hubby hooked up a tv in our basement so I usually watch tv while I'm on the treadmill, times flies when I'm watching the cooking chanel,lol.
