This is my motto for the New Year!! I need to remember that it is not about what you look like or what you do for a living, it's about loving yourself and respecting yourself! This will be a hard motto for me, but it's a new year, with new beginnings! :)

Goals!

Here are my goals for the month of January!

#1. Drink at least 60 oz. of water w/lemon per day.
#2. Start writing down what I eat with calorie intake. Try to keep calories to 1500 - 1550 per day.
#3. Start loving my self!!

You have lost a good amount since Sept. Congrats...what have you been doing?

My birthday is June 5th..I will be the big 45....I hope to be at 140...I am 181 or 182 now...
 
Oooh I just read back that you had neck surgery which resulted in your weightloss....I hope that you are feeling good now. What a way to jump start any kind of weight loss.....I guess I would have to look at the good side and that is the loss and now to keep carrying on.

Hi Karebare! Thanks, I actually had c-5 c-6 disk surgery in my neck, was in a neck brace and on soft foods for 2 months. My doctor put me on xanax to help with my neck muscles, growing a bone right now, and I'm starting to eat a bit better. I really like my weight loss and want to continue it! For the past month I have been trying to drink a lot of water w/lemon and cut back on my sodas. Also for the past few weeks I have been trying to walk more and count calories. I'm on lifting restrictions until June 2008, so that does not help out with exercising at all. I have loss a few lbs. by just watching what I eat! Keep in touch and good luck to you!! Think positive and you'll succeed.

Went to mall to walk this evening, did pretty good. Still getting tired easily, but hanging in there. Did a little shopping and had chinese for lunch/dinner with sil, mostly veggies. Have no idea on calories for the lunch/dinner. I wish restaurants posted calories!! Going to drink 24 more oz. of water before bedtime.
 
Hi evee.....

I always like to eat at applebees because they have the weight watchers menu..and it helps. When in doubt...salad with chicken and dressing on the side (dipping your fork in the dressing, then taknig a bite of salad...this is an old weight watchers tip)

Its going to be tough for you to find exercises while you are on lifting restrictions.......are you doing any kind of physical therapy?????

Applebees sounds like a great place to eat. I stuck mainly to the veggies and crab(soft enough for me to swallow). No physical therapy due to insurance. no coverage, so I'm on Xanax and Vicodine and Prilosec and stool softners, liquid and soft pill form, UGH!!!!!!!! Still in pain after all of that!!! Have good days and ok days. But I think losing this extra weight will benefit me, at least I hope. Hubby's insurance changes in January, so hopefully I can then receive Therapy with new insurance!! Sorry if I rambled on, sometimes it feels like no body understands me,lol. They do try though! Any ideas on easy exercises would be great!
 
the walking is really good.

it is really cold where i am right now and kind of icy, so i have to use the treadmill inside. my dad has my recumbant bike, and i am thinking about getting it back from him because its something i could do that wouldnt hurt my feet...although it probably would hurt my knees...do u think?

wow all those pills...i am terrible about medicine...always forget to take it. yesterday i bought a 30 day supply of vitamins..prepackaged so i remember to take one everyday.

talk about ramble...i am the queen of ramblin.

Slept in this morning, pills make me tired! Try out the bike slowly, if your knees start hurting then back down on your time a bit. It's snow and ice in WI. too. Hubby is setting up the treadmill for me this afternoon. Very happy about that.

It's 8:30 p.m. here in Wi., very cold out, snowed again, ugh! Having problems swallowing again, need to go to doc soon. Had soft dinner of bean soup and banana cream pie, ate about 1/2 of it, but did drink alot of water today! Watching movies tonight then hitting the sack.
 
Woke up this morning ready to clean house! Boys and hubby helped me out, which was great. Heading out in the snow to rent movies for tonight. Going to treat myself to a wine spritzer tonight at midnight! Have to burn off those calories before midnight. Weighed in at 160.0 this morning, goal is to be 159 by tomorrow, so close, but am still going to eat today! Hope this is a great New Year!! Just want to be healthy, exercise more, think positive and like myself!! Also want to volunteer more and spend more quality time with my boys, if I can talk them into it, teens,lol.

Happy New Year! Well I did not enjoy the wine spritzer, had a little accident while cooking dinner last night, cut open my finger while cutting up potatoes. Hubby has been cleaning it out, could have gotten a few stitches, but did not feel like going to ER on New Years Eve. Weighed in this morning and YEAH 159.4 lbs. for the New Year.

New goal for Jan 15th, 2008 156.5 lbs.!!
Remember to take it one day at a time, start a walking routine every day on the treadmill. And just keep smiling!!
 
dang too bad about the finger....last year i was cleaning and a bulb fell and i had to get stitches in my ring finger....one christmas my mom was helping my dad move stuff in the basemetn and she cut her thumb OFF..yes off..so she spent christmas eve in the emergency room and christmas day all painmedicated up...my mom does not take medicine so she was really cute....

anyway my point is that maybe this is a sign that women should not do housework on holidays :)

Yup no house work for us during the holidays, Karebare!! Hope your mom's thumb is ok now! Wow, cut right off, hope she got some good presents that year!!
Last night walked the treadmill for 1 mile, which took me 19 minutes and 22 seconds. Do not have any clue on what a good time is. Also cleaned house and did all of the laundry, bet there will be more this a.m.
Made goal weight of 159.4,or very close too goal weight for Jan 1st, 2008, new goal 156.5 by the 15th of Jan. Need to keep an eye on this.
Off to take teens to school.
 
It is 12:46 p.m. here and still cold outside!! Almost slipped on ice outside need to tell hubby about salting the driveway. Almost went to Starbucks this morning, but resisted temptation! Walked on treadmill for 35 minutes this morning at a pace of 2.0 to 3.0, good start. Had egg and waffle, small one for breakfast and having 1 cup cooked veggies for lunch. Also 24 oz. of lemon water so far. Am going to the store tomorrow to buy 100 cal. treats in a bag, and more veggies and fruit. Off to make dinner and do laundry.

when my friends and i were truly walking...we would do 3 miles in 40 to 45 minutes...but that was going pretty fast....my trainer has me do 3.0 at an incline....but what do i know..i weigh more than you...heheheheh

keep up the good work girly....3/4 thumbs up...(that was from my momma)
 
Tell momma thanks! Trying hard!! By the way impressive speed for walking 3 miles, wow!! I'm going to walk for 30 more minutes tonight after dinner, which is tuna pitas and soup, sure teens will love this,lol! I made them chocolate chip cookie bars,too though!
