If You Fail Try Again...

OMG... my arms are killing me... it feels like I have charlie horses all up and down them... ouchie. Guess I was never truly pushing myself before.

Well good thing I didn't wait around for my workout buddy today. She never called or showed up at the gym. I didn't even bother with trying to get ahold of her. I'm not begging someone to workout that doesn't want to. And I'm not one of those people that needs a friend there anyways. So maybe she'll come a different day.I went for about an hour and fifteen minutes. Got a good sweat on. The only thing that sucks was that my key card isn't going to be activated for about a week so I was waiting for someone to go in so I could be let in. I hope that gets fixed soon. I don't want to have to rely on someone else to let me in all week.

Not much of an update other than that for now. TTYL.

I am finding wonderful words of wisdom on random sites tonight...
"No one else is going to build the life you want for you. No one else will even be able to completely understand it. The most amazing souls will show up to cheer you on along the way, but this is your game. Make a pact to be in it with yourself for the long haul, as your own supportive friend at every step along the way."

One of my favorites, because its pretty much my whole life, lol: "If you're going through hell, keep going." Winston Churchill
Says a lot about what we're going through rightnow!
Have a great weeend :)

Good one. I'm gonna steal that one! Thanks :)

That quote reminds me of the country song that goes the same way. And I love that song, it has a great message.

Well gotta get goin, time to get ready for work. I woke up an hour before my alarm...
Its scary to say... I think I'm turning into a morning person... NOOOOO!!! :)

Today so far has been pretty good. I had my health screening today at work.(yes, today is my day off before working 9 days straight and i spent half my morning at work lol) Got weighed, body measurments taken, blood pressure, and blood tests. Will be given a full report once it comes back from the lab. I must admit I am quite scared to get things like cholesterol levels back. I've never had any of those things tested before. The incintive for the hospital to get you to do the test is starting in 2011, every month you will get $15 off of your insurance payments a month. I know what they are going to eventually do though, they are going to encourage that if you get the numbers down you will get more benifits or more money off. Makes sense. Glad I'm working on that now instead of when they actually start to impliment that.

After I did that, went and had a huge salad in the cafe and then went to the gym for 2 hours. Normally I don't eat right before the gym but to get a good reading of your test your told to fast the day before. So yea.

Oh, forgot to weigh myself today. So I'll do that tomorrow and try to remember to take a picture! Going to get a workout in before work tomorrow. I've never done that before so we'll see how it goes. I just don't have that much energy after work any more, so I want to make sure I'm getting my workout in for the day.

I'll talk to ya'll later!

I hear ya on not having any energy after work. ugggh. hope you have a good weigh in tomorrow, I unfortunately did not. Have a great night!

I honestly don't understand such a low number judging by how much I've been working out. It could be that I'm not eating enough, cuz I know for a fact I have been good all week long, I'm just broke so I've been keepin the food to a minimum til pay day so I dont run out. Oh well. At least its not a gain.

Got everyone re-psyched up for the challenge yesterday. Our group is called the Booty Busters and I put a sign up sheet and a list of "rules" at work. I'll share the rules with you:

- 6 month challenge going from Aug 1 -Feb 1.

- Within the first 2 weeks of the challenge you must buy a $10 gift certificate that will go into a "winners pot".(i.e.Target, Kohls,-No Restaurants!) Whoever loses the most based off of percentage at the end wins all of the certificates.

-If you GAIN weight, there is a penalty of $1 per lb. This money will also go into the winners pot.

I can't remember off the top of my head what the last rule was, but those were the most important. The paying money for gaining weight is a new one for me. The other girls thought of that. That could get interesting with such a long challenge. I'm alittle nervous about that. But gives you motivation to get your butt moving instead of just "settling" for a gain.

So yesterday morning, went to the gym before work. I'm in the locker room and my trainer comes in and shes like Ashley! Hey I'm doing a class in a few minutes would you like to join? I was like why the hell not. Get in there, its me and 3 older ladies. And the class is using the big inflatiable balls that you sit on and free weights. By the end of the 45 min class my heart rate was up and I was a bit sweaty. The trainer comes up and tells me I did awesome! Shes like I have never had someone that has never been on a ball before NOT fall off, especially without a beginner class for the ball. I think I'm her new pet project. :) I see her at the gym 5 days a week and she always comes over to me and tries to challenge me to do more. Which is awesome that Im not paying for these "sessions" since shes just waltzin over on her own.

But as for working out in the morning, so far so good. I didn't burn out through out the rest of my shift or anything. I'm going again this morning, a little earlier even, cuz the girl that was my gym buddy wants me to meet her there. We'll see if she shows.

Have a good day everyone!

Have had an awesome week so far! Been to the gym everyday, thinkin tomorrow is going to be a rest day. My body is achin bad! Signed up another girl at my gym today so my trainer gave me a very cool water bottle for being so dedicated and getting so many people involved. :) Cut my finger really bad today at work, so can't type much.. owie! Talk to you all later!

Hows everyone doing?! I'm doing wonderful. :)
Went grocery shopping tonight. Bought some tofu.. never had it before so I'm excited to try it. I am hoping I love it, like I did with sushi. I thought I would hate sushi and now I crave it constantly. Also it didn't seem as expensive as I thought it would be. A package of extra firm(a tofu lover told me first timers should always start with extra firm), organic tofu was $2.50. Not bad. I also must of been craving breakfast food when I was shopping at 10pm because I ended up getting multigrain cheerios, low fat waffles, turkey sausage and low fat choc chip pancakes. :) Holy carbs lol.
So my goal overall was not to spend more than $40 on grocerys for the week. I wasn't keeping track at the store or anything and rang up at $37.25! Ahh the little things in life haha.
Well gotta be goin to bed now. It's already 11:20 and I have to be up at 4am to start my day. Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

OH! PS. Tomorrow is offical weigh in for my new club "Booty Busters!" It looks like I got some real competition with at least 2 of the girls. They are gettin serious about this which I LOVE! A little friendly competition never hurt anyone. Ok ok now I'm going to bed! Night!! :)

So I made a list of people I follow on Twitter that give me inspiration and Healthy Food Blogs that I read for a few of my younger fellow contestants in the Booty Busters, and I figured I should share them with all of you. I follow them for workout inspiration and lots of them post articles that I find intriguing. Enjoy!

So I'm gettin ready for bed and it hits me that I never posted my weight and my pic this week! Oopsie! So here it is. This is my scale at the gym, it weighed me the same as mine. My scale however has been taken over by the club and someone wanted to borrow it for the week to watch how they are doing until they get their own. No biggie, I have the scale at the gym. Annnyways... drum roll please...... -2.4lbs! Yay! :) 227.2 is my weight now.

Workouts have been great, could probably use a little more weight training though. I usually only have time for cardio in the morning before work so maybe when I get off I can go do my weights. I find it WAY easier to do my exercise in the morning. I'm glad I started that. Now I know what people were always talking about when they say thats what gets the day going. I feel awesome for the rest of the day knowing I sweated my butt off earlier in the morning. Also makes it easier to make good food choices, not wanting to mess up all the work you did that morning.

The second picture is my lunch today. I pack my lunch everyday. This was just to show off the beautiful veggies from my moms garden that I fought like a million misquitos to get lol. :)
Lunch consisted of a peach, cherry tomatoes, peas(raw), and 1c mulitgrain cheerios w/ skim milk.

Well off to bed now. I have off tomorrow and have a big day of shopping planned after hittin the gym. I need something to wear to my step-sisters wedding on Saturday. Was waiting til last minute to see how much weight I could lose before the big day. :)
Talk to you all tomorrow!!

mmm, I think I need to start a garden next year :) YAY for the -2.4! AMAZING! Hope the work competition is going super fab.

Umm, just realized that I did NOT post at the beginning of the week... anyway. i was down 2lbs :) Yayyyy... WHAT week are we on now?! I already forgot, lol!~

YAY!!! -2 is awesome!!!!! I forgot as well... I think it's week 4... but I could be very wrong. All I know is it feels like I should of lost way more by now lol.

And drumroll please.... -1.4lbs. I am at 225.8 now. Ok we're gettin some where. Just not as fast as I would like. I miss when I was 20 and had -8lb and -5lb weeks in a row. I was workin just as hard, and probably eating worse and drinking more than I am now. Ahh to have that metabolism again. lol

Slow and steady wins the race... without burning out. :)

Well I have some errands to run, should probably buy light bulbs since 3 of mine are offically burnt out for about a week now. Very hard to get around with no light at night. Maybe do some grocery shopping. Talk to you all later!

YAY! Great job :) I, too, miss the metabolism from back in the day. When I get this excess weight off, I'm gonna hafta focus HARD on staying vigilant. It CAN be done!

Well had a good workout, did my shopping, came home and put it all away only to realize... I forgot the lightbulbs! Grrr. How many times I have dones this in the last week... I need a list of my lists I tell ya.

Now the roasted garlic hummus is calling to me from the kitchen. I'm trying to ignore it, I can eat a whole container of it in 1 sitting no problem.. ahh i love hummus..
