Sport Ice cream causing hunger?

Sport Fitness
I eat quite a strict low GI diet throughout the day and find that I don't get any cravings for unhealthy food during the day and normally treat myself to icecream at night but find that within half an hour after I eat it I'm suddenly starving and need to eat. I'm wondering if this would be due to the sugar spike and the fact that it's a shock to my system after eating healthily all day long?

Any advice on what I should do because I end up having to eat a piece of multigrain bread to satisfy myself and sometimes I don't really stop at one either!

It could absolutely be the problem,

a lot of junk food like ice cream contain a lot of fructose, eating a lot of fructose disrupts the hormones which deal with hunger, often making you hungry.

(Thats why a lot of companies put a lot of fructose in food so youll buy more of their stuff) :0

Stop eating the ice cream and see what happens.

man I wish I could do that Tony.

my name is FF and I am an ice/choco/brownie aholic.

one trick I have found that helps is more water. I keep a gallon of water around and after my fat free frozen yogurt, single serving I will guzzle water and it helps me not want SO MUCH more.

Eskimo pies for me.

Someone once told me that Ice Cream had antifreeze in it to stop it going too hard. Fact or fiction? I dunno

Don't worry guys, tonight I decided to have a brownie instead of ice cream :p but it was low fat but high sugar and suprisingly I'm not starving afterwards and it's only 10 calories more and less fat!

I know what you mean. One cookie/donut/jam tart turns into 3 or 4 or a binge. Maybe cutting out sugary snacks and limiting them to a weekend or something?

Not entirely true with me, I don't need more of that thing I just get hungry but I've realised it could be due to the fact I normally eat it around 2 hours after dinner when I'm eating every 2-3 hours throughout the day so maybe it's just my fast metabolism because I ate my icecream right after dinner tonight and was hungry three hours later anyway.
